spartans5
October Beams: It looks like Charles Beams has righted the ship at Middlesbrough after a rough start to the season, as he picks up the October Manager of the Month award. The month included victories over Reading, Watford, Derby and Plymouth. Middlesbrough are now 8th in the Championship and look to be making a challenge for promotion. Lazer Beams made 5 appearances this month and earned an assist, but he watched his average rating drop a bit. Ray Beams is still in the U-18s and it seems the only way he will continue to play for the first team is if there is an injury crisis, but the 14 year old is still in high spirits. Tompkins: Charlton had a rather even month and all but one of their matches saw 2 goals scored. However, Joel Tompkins would much rather his team score 2 goals, which they did once this month, rather than his team scores one and then gives one up, which happened on 4 occasions, including a penalty loss to Millwall in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy South 2nd Round. The other match this month was a 1-0 victory over Carlisle. Charlton currently sit 10th in Coca-Cola League 1. Thierry Tompkins still seems to be having trouble but that is to be expected from one so young. Jean-Paul Tompkins on the other hand, seems to have things down pat. He had 6 appearances this month and scored 4 goals but that was only enough to raise his average rating slightly, by .03. Fisher: Steven Fisher seems to be gunning for Manager of the Year honors. October started off in grim fashion as Burnley lost to relegation rivals Bolton 2-0 at the Reebok, but then defeated Fulham at Turf Moor, before earning a draw at Aston Villa. However, the result that makes Burnley fans forget the name Owen Coyle is a 1-0 home victory over Arsenal. These results see Burnley firmly entrenched mid table 10 points out of the relegation zone. Arnold made 2 appearances for Sunderland this month and had little to show for it. Sam is still yet to make any appearance for the first team. Cali: Goztepe, under the direction of Sercan Cali, have continued their white-hot start. They bulldozed through October picking up 13 out of a possible 15 points and see themselves still atop their Group in league play. They have extended their lead over second place to 25 points and will most likely not be finishing last, as they have a 24 point lead over Tepecikspor in last place. Baris and Mert Cali have been integral to the start to the season, as Baris added a goal and 3 assist in the 5 matches he played this month, while Mert played in 4 matches and had an assist. Gupta: Neeraj is finding life difficult in Portugal. He won the 2 cup games that Vitoria Sport Club had this month, but when it came to league play, he was only able to lead his squad to 1 point, at home against Sporting, in two matches and sees his side in 10th in Liga Sagres, 3 below their predicted finish of 7th. Manu is still having issues in the Championship, as he can't seem to get his season going, and Ishu is still stuck in the reserves at Chelsea. Hall: Well, there is some good news for William Hall this month. His Sunderland side were able to go to Stamford Bridge and earn a draw, however, the good news kind of stops there. A loss at the Stadium of Light to Blackburn and a home draw against Birmingham, still see Sunderland in the relegation places, 2 points from safety, but in 19th this month, and not 20th. Didier got into two of the matches this month, although he didn't do much of anything in them. Lionel was also pretty listless in his two appearances this month. All in all, it has been a disappointing start for the Australian family. Lazewski: Over in Poland, Lawrence Lazewski has his Zaglebie Lubin side in 4th place in the Ekstraklasa. Two 2-0 victories (over Lechia Gdansk and Cracovia), started the month off well, but a 3-0 defeat to Polonia Warszawa brought this side back down to Earth. They finished with a 2-1 victory followed by a 3-1 loss in the FA Cup and a 2-1 loss to Jagiellonia. Still, 4th is just about good enough for a Europa League spot. The Lazewski brothers continue to propel Lech to the top of the table. This month Walter was fantastic with 5 clean sheets in 7 matches, one begins to wonder how soon the national team is going to call him up. Brother Lawrence Jr., who has been called up, but not yet capped, continued his fabulous season with 9 goals in 7 matches in all competitions this month. He is currently the leading goal scorer in the league with 13, his closest competition is 4 players on 8. Lee: The season is just about over for the Lee's in South Korea, with just one match left, Pohang sits 5th in the K-League, needing a draw in their final match to earn a spot in the playoffs. A rather disappointing month saw them drop out of 4th place, however, they were able to win their FA Cup Quarter Final matchup with Gangwon and set up a Semi Final Meeting with Jeonbuk. Lee Chu-Yung will be without both of his sons for the last league match and the FA Cup match, so it will be interesting to see how he gets by without them. Lee Chu-Jae played in a couple matches this month scoring two goals, before straining his groin. Lee Chu-Seok is still nursing that broken foot. Holstein: Germinal Beerschot finished October in 4th in the Belgian Pro League after a 2-1-1 record this month. Albert Holstein also led his squad to a 2-1 victory in the Belgian Cup 6th Round over Woluwe-Zaventem. They are 10 points back of table toppers Anderlecht, who appear to be running away with the league, 8 points up on 2nd place. Speaking of Anderlecht, Albert's sons Humberto and Hubert both featured this month. Humberto in 2 appearances off the bench, without really doing much, and Hubert in 6 matches. Hubert was also capped for Belgium this month, playing in two matches getting an assist and, you guessed it, a yellow card, one must wonder when he will eventually learn some discipline, and if that will be the only thing that stops him from being a true great. Watson: The Watsons continue to tear up the Blue Square Premier League. Gory picked up his second Player of the Month award, after returning from injury to bag 5 goals in 3 games. Oddly enough, he still isn't attracting the attention of any of the big clubs. You would think after Chris Smalling's meteoric rise up the English League ladder, this great forward from Northern Ireland would be on everyone's (or at least Man Utd's) radar. Whindanski also picked up an award, the Young Player of the Month as he scored 3 goals in 4 appearances. One would then have to wonder how William Watson didn't end up winning manager of the month, but a 2-0 loss to Kettering was most likely the reason as they dropped those 3 points and 2 points against Stevenage, while winning the remaining three matches of the month. However, they did lose in the 4th Qualifying Round of the FA Cup to Mansfield, but that's just more of an opportunity for Gory and Whindanski to tear up the league and maybe fail to get noticed for a while, thus finishing the season where they started. Burrows: Aachen sit 5th in the 2.Bundesliga after a very disappointing 1-0-3 month, although they did upset Werder Bremen in the DFB Pokal Cup. The promotion favorites will be disappointed with the early going but there is still time to right the ship as Ian Burrows' squad is 6 points out of a promotion spot and 10 points off the title pace, in part because Greg was held scoreless for the entire month, despite playing in every match. John also played in his first competitive match, coming off the bench in the upset of Werder.

spartans5
I apologize for the lack of updates. I guess my computer blue screened while it was saving, and i didn't have my preferences set to a 3 file rolling auto save, which has since been fixed, and the game got corrupted. I therefore have to start over again :/. But I am going to update 3 months at a time, this way we can hopefully get somewhere before FM 11 comes out, although I don't plan on stopping this when that occurs. spartans5
Stats to come later July-October Beams: Here we are with October just about to start. The Championship season is going quite well for Charles Beams and his Middlesbrough squad. Middlesbrough have won 8 of their first 10 matches this season with their losses coming at Bristol City and at home to West Brom. Currently lying in 3rd place in the league, they are tied with Newcastle, down 3 on goal difference, and one point behind Reading, who top the table. In the Carling Cup, they have beaten Peterborough at home (2nd Round) and Cardiff at home, in extra time (3rd Round). The travel to London to take on Fulham in the 4th Round. In the transfer market, Boro picked up 4 players for $1.5M, bringing in Flin Soava on a free transfer, Jores Okore from FC Nordsjaelland on a free, Pedro from Sporting (the one in Spain) for $1.3M and Matthew Briggs from Fulham for $160K. They made $2.8M in selling Tony McMahon to Wigan ($2.2M) and Seb Hines to Bristol City ($550K). They also sent Richard Smallwood to Wrexham and Joe Bennett to Crewe on loans. Lazer Beams has played in 10 matches so far for Boro, scoring 1 goal and assisting on 4 more. He currently has an average rating of 6.90. Brother Ray has made 6 appearances, 5 off the bench, and has 2 goals and an assist for an average rating of 6.97. Tompkins: Joel Tompkins has led Charlton to a decent start to the season. They sit in the middle of the table at 12th in Coca Cola League 1. They have a 3-4-3 record and are 10 points behind league leaders, Leeds United, and are 11 points off the foot of the table, currently occupied by Yeovil. They sit 5 points out of the last playoff place, currently held by Colchester and 5 points out of the relegation zone, currently including Wycombe, Southampton, and Leyton Orient, as well as the aforementioned Yeovil. Joel brought 3 players in to the fold for Charlton, all on frees: Cedric Rjillo (Feignies), Sebastien Renaud, and Aurelien Mazel. He allowed Chris Solly to go on loan to Oxford United. Thierry Tompkins has played in 8 matches for Crewe in League 2, scoring 2 goals and earning 1 assist for a 6.60 average rating. Jean-Paul Tompkins has also played in 8 matches but has only earned 2 assists and has a 6.25 rating. Both players are still young and hope to progress fairly quickly. Fisher: Burnley has had a rough start to the season. A 3-0 home loss to Liverpool could have demoralized them, but they were able to get a 0-0 draw at Turf Moor against Blackburn the next weekend. They then followed up with a win at Upton Park, a loss at the Emirates, a draw at Turf Moor with Portsmouth, and a loss at Old Trafford. They sit 15th in the Premier League, safe by 2 points. A 5-2 victory over Bristol Rovers saw Burnley through to the Carling Cup 3rd Round, where they proceeded to lose to Ipswich 2-0. Burnley had a net spend of $300K during the summer transfer window. In came Bryan Hughes, picked up on a free, Stuart O'Keefe ($375 from Southend), Sean Morrison ($190K from Swindon), and Chris ($400K loan fee from Frankfurt). Ben Hoskin (Fleetwood), Kevin Long (Wrexham), Steven Thompson (Norwich), and Richard Eckersley (Blackpool) all went out on loan, and Newcastle purchased Christian Kalvenes for $600K. The Fisher boys have had little impact at Sunderland, with Sam not seeing the field for the first team at all so far, and Arnold having made sub appearances in 5 matches, but only starting 1. Cali: Over in Turkey, the season has started fairly well for the Calis. They sit 2nd in the Turkish Second Division Phase 1 Group Stage B, 5 points behind the leaders, Eyupspor. They have 3 wins (Sariyer, Tepecikspor, Denizli Bld.) 1 draw (Alanyaspor) and a loss (Konya Sekerspor). They are in the Playoff to get into the Turkish Cup after defeating Bucaspor and Altay to date. They play Kastamonuspor in that matchup. Sercan Cali must be happy with his squad, because he has made absolutely no alterations to it so far this year. Baris Cali is having a pretty good year so far with 2 goals and an assist in 7 total appearances. Mert has been rather average with a 6.66 rating in 7 appearances. Gupta: Neeraj has Vitoria Sport Club sitting in 5th place in the Liga Sagres through 6 matches. Wins over P. Ferreira, Naval, Leixoes, and Leiria and draws with Vit. Setubal have them on 13 points, with the other match being a loss to Benfica. They are currently two points behind Sporting CP who are top of the table. Neeraj brought in Serge Wawa from ASEC for $190K and sent Marquinho out on loan to Moreirense. Ishu is currently sitting in the Chelsea Reserves and is learning from Didier Drogba. Manu is on loan at Southampton and has played in 4 matches and has done next to nothing. Hall: Sunderland has gotten off to a shocking start to this Premier League season with 1 victory (a season opening home win over Wigan) through 7 matches so far. The have lost at Man City, home to Fulham, at Liverpool, home to Arsenal, at Blackburn and at Portsmouth. They are still in the Carling Cup, however, after victories over Leicester and Hull. They play West Ham in the 4th Round. William Hall was bound to be hoping for a better return on his investments in Gonzalo Fierro ($7.5M from Flamengo) and Didier Aissa Domi ($375K from Olympiakos), neither has performed well at all. Didier Hall has played in 7 matches, 6 off the bench, and scored 2 goals and had 1 assist. Brother Lionel has started 7 and come off the bench for another and has the same stat line. Lazewski: Lawrence Lazewski has led Zaglebie Lubin to 5th in the Ekstraklasa 4 points behind Wisla atop the table. Zaglebie have a 4-1-3 record so far, with the wins over Slask, Odra Wdzislaw, Belchatow and Lech. The draw came against Arka, and the 3 losses were at the hands of Cracovia, Legia, and Ruch Chorzow. Lazewski has spent $22K and brought in 4 players, Michel, Nilson, and Neto Potiguar on frees and Kamil Jelen on loan from Wisla. He also allowed Wojciech Kedziora to go on loan to Polonia Bytom. Over at Lech, Lawrence Jr. has 4 goals and 2 assists through 10 matches to date. His brother Walter has given up 16 goals in 15 matches but has 6 clean sheets. Lee: The Korean season is coming to a close with 1 month left in the regular season. Currently Pohang sit in 4th 6 points back of Ulsan at the top but have 2 matches in hand. Lee Chu-Yung has only brought in Liminha on a free transfer this season and didn't ship anyone else anywhere. Lee Chu-Jae has 9 goals in 23 matches this season. His brother Chu-Seok has 3 goals and an assist in 20 matches, as well as making 3 appearances for the South Korea senior team. Both brothers are currently at the U-20 World Cup for South Korea. Holstein: Albert Holstein has led Germinal Beerschot to second in the Belgian Pro League through 7 matches 2 points behind Standard. Holstein seems to believe in the all or nothing strategy with 4 victories (home to Genk, at Zulte Waregem, home to Standard, and at Charleroi) and 3 losses (at Sint-Truiden, at Lokeren and home to Club Brugge). A fairly busy transfer window saw Albert bring in 6 players: Danhy Mathijssen, Steve Olfers, Danny Guijt ($450K from SC Cambuur), Anderson Lima, Ismael Traore ($275K from CS Sedan Ardennes), Davy Zafarin ($35K from FC Oss); and letting Eloy Smet go on loan to Schoten SK. Humberto Holstein is currently not in the first team at Anderlecht, but his brother, Hubert, has played 8 times and earned 1 assist and 2 yellow cards. Watson: We leave League football and head to the Blue Square Premier where William Watson has Wrexham in 2nd with 2 in hand on leaders Oxford, with a 10-0-2 record and an astonishing 28 goals for and 5 against. A productive window has seen Matthew Sanders (Fulham), Chad Bond (Swansea), Richard Smallwood (Middlesbrough), Kevin Long (Burnley), and Dylan McGowan (Hearts) all come in on loan and Bob Davidson and Matt Bowman join on free transfers. Gory is tearing up the competition with 19 goals in 12 appearances, how long until he is noticed by a bigger club? Through those same 12 matches, Whindanski has a goal and 6 assists, so these two brothers are key to any success Wrexham hopes to have. Burrows: We travel to Germany next to take a look at the progress of the Burrows family. Ian currently has Aachen 2nd in the 2.Bundesliga table, 3 points behind Paderborn. Aachen made $2.4M in their transfer dealings as they brought in Ze Adriano on a free and Faton Toski (Frankfurt) and David Targamadze (Freiburg) on long. They sent Ozgen Abdul (Burghausen) and Mirko Casper (Sandhausen) on loan. They sold Stefan Oventrop (Cloppenburg) for free and Timo Achenbach (Dortmund) for $2.4M. Greg Burrows has made 4 appearances for Aachen scoring 3 goals and John has made 4 sub appearances and 1 start to date and has 1 assist.
