I know a few watch it, but there's no thread. So... well here it is.

On after the last match of the day every day, switches to ITV4 at 10pm for anyone that doesn't know

I found it so so cringy. Although I was going in expecting it to be bad and I was hardly being entirely objective, it confirmed my fears. I think James Corden tries to come across as 'the fan' but comes across as the England supporter that doesn't know a thing about football.

Hardly. For me it would be done using these steps:

1. See thread of show I don't like.

2. Think 'it's crap, won't be watching that'

3. Move on.

Easy

I'm not a fan of his but i've enjoyed it. Him and Gerrard were brilliant I thought and my respect has increased for Gerrard.

Reminds me slightly of the halcyon days of fantasy football league in some respects.

Of course you can, it's just very tedious when the very mention of Corden gets people foaming at the mouth, and strikes me as strange that people would come in to a thread to discuss a tv show that they don't watch.

I didn't say it was, I'm not singling anyone out here mate. But can anyone really say that they find the constant dirge of posts saying how ***** he is interesting?

As much as I hate Corden, I thought i'd give it a watch to give it a chance before I dismissed it. Corden being a fat ***** as usual. Katy Perry who has no ****ing idea about football, neither does Cowell it seemed. Never watched it tonight but that's probably a good thing. The whole program just sucked tbh.

Well what else would there be in a thread about a James Corden show? Just repeating what happened on the show itself?

Roberto has a point, if you don't like Corden, just leave the thread. Theres a Corden thread in OTF where you can moan.

I don't think he's great, but don't really mind him. Kind of show I'll watch 5 mins of here and there.

Im not bothering to search for that thread when this one popped up. Didn't even know there was a thread, so whatever.

Disagree about Cowell tbh. Thought he was the only one who made any sense on last night's show tbh.

That bit where they replaced France with Ireland was utter cringe. And as for his "jokes" with Katy Perry about American sports (Incredibly Terrible Viewing). Tonight's show wasn't an improvement tbh. Corden needs to stop shouting. I'm no fan of Corden at all, but I didn't mind the little bit with Steven Gerrard, although him acting all matey with the England players is starting to grate a little bit.

So yeah, all in all, it's not all that.

I wish these ‘Celebrities’ would just f*ck off from my life. I want people with specialist knowledge commentating on football, not some sh*t comedian. Sick of them all.

In fairness, I don't mind spin-off shows using comedians rather than specialist football pundits. But that doesn't stop this show being a car crash.

Watched the bit that was on whatever channel it was on after the footy (part of my indoctrination of football into the GF's life). Really enjoyed the bit with Gerrard actually, and my opinion of him has improved massively in the last month or so, but the rest was exactly as expected. Cringeworthy autocue reading of poro jokes. I don't mind Corden though in general.

If your not watching it how can you comment on it?

Its been ok so far nothing special but easy to watch I like the world cup wallchart always some good banter there

Gave it a chance a couple of times, couldn't stand it. Don't like corden was my main point anyway.

Thought it wasn't too bad, some bits were bad and having panelists (Katy Perry, Dizzee) on that know nothing about football hinders the show and makes Corden a lot worse than he actually is.

Best bit was by far the interview with Gerrard , more of those kinda things please. The wallchart bit makes me chuckle as well.

I genuinely don't get the mass hate for Corden on here, i think he's an alright bloke and pretty funny. He was absolutely brilliant in Gavin & Stacey. Yeah he gets around a lot but thats not his fault at all, thats just because the demand for him is so high.

Corden is a reasonable actor and an excellent scriptwriter. But what he isn't is a TV presenter or a stand-up comic. So in a situation where he has to play both of those roles in a programme put together in less than an hour, I don't know what people are expecting.

I've never seen him in G&S (and have zero interest in watching it) but literally everyone I know raves about it, so you could well be right on both counts there. Having only experienced him as a presenter, he comes across as unfunny, not witty and a little bit desperate.
