30.01.2009 - Another great transfer from Bayern. After Källström and King the next star joins Munich after the season. From Real Saragossa fabulous striker David Villa (27 years old) signs a contract in Munich. Villa leaves his club under the Bosman rule. Patrick Schulz was very happy about this transfer. We surely do have enough strikers but getting a man like Villa for free should be the target of any team. We are very glad to get him. He surely will show his worth.

01.02.2009 - 20th league game

1. FC Nürnberg - Bayern München (0:3) 0:5

You see the result, you know what happened. Bayern was the much better team and for almost one hour with one man plus on the field. But even before the second yellow card for Cziommer, Nürnberg was 0:3 behind and had not any chance. The offense of Munich worked very good and did not show any mercy today.

Team:

Wiese, Görlitz, Pander, Hofland, Nesta, Hargreaves (46. Frings), Andreasen (60. Metzelder), Fabregas (46. Ferguson), Sneijder, Gilardino, Pizarro

07.02.09 - 21st league game

Bayern München - SC Freiburg (1:0) 2:0

Bayern showed mercy against Freiburg. Munich was the better team but did not show much. It was not neccessary to do more. Freiburgs offense was totally eliminated by Munichs defense. A well deserved victory, even with 10 man Munich won in style.

Wiese, Salihamidzic, Dede, Nesta, Hofland, Andreasen, Fabregas, Jenas (63. Steinhöfer), Makaay (63. Podolski), Gilardino, Pizarro (35. Lucio)

14.02.09 - 22ns league game

Bayer Leverkusen - Bayern München (0:0) 0:0

Lucky draw for the guests from Munich. Leverkusen had the far better chances, but did not find a way through the defense. In the end Bayern had a few chances. But even a draw is lucky for Bayern.

Team:

Wiese, Görlitz (63. Salihamidzic), Lahm, Metzelder, Hofland, Frings, Andreasen, Daly (63. Fusco), Sneijder, Cassano (63. Podolski), Adu

18.02.09 - Champions League 2nd round First match

Sporting Lissabon - Bayern München (0:0) 0:3

Absolutely deserved victory for Munich. The Portugese never made trouble before the guests goal. With this result Munich should be almost through to the quarterfinal.

Team:

Wiese, Salihamidzic, Dede, Nesta, Hofland, Frings, Andreasen (46. Ferguson), Fabregas, Bastürk (65. Sneijder), Gilardino (65. Makaay), Pizarro

Goals:

0:3 Pizarro (85.)

19.02.2009 - Fabregas injured. The young spanish international will miss the next month!

20.02.2009 - The next one injured. Defender Hofland will miss for 2 weeks.

20.02.2009 - 4th Transfer for the next season. Munich is building up their squad. Bayern got Robert Enke from Hannover 96. The 31 year old goalkeeper joins Bayern for free. Patrick Schulz comments the transfer: We are not happy with Nestor Peralta as our number two. He showed some lousy behaviour in the training sessions and claims to be the number one. He may leave the club. We want a keeper, who could put Wiese a bit under pressure but who also accepts the role as number two, if Tim still shows his class.

21.02.09 - 23rd match game

Bayern München - Borussia Dortmund (3:0) 3:0

Deserved victory that was never in danger. Dortmund was overwhelmed by the great work of the wings from Munich. In the second half, Munich slowed down the match and celebrated an easy win.

Team:

Wiese, Görlitz (57. Lahm), Pander, Metzelder, Nesta, Andreasen, Fusco (57. Daly), Jenas (57. Steinhöfer), Podolski, Cassano, Adu

24.02.2009 - German Cup Quarterfinal

Bayern München - SC Freiburg (1:0) 3:0

Like a few weeks ago, Freiburg was no match for good and concentrated Bayern players. 12:0 shots on target after 90 minutes. Freiburg should feel lucky, that Munichs strikers did not want to score more often. After the red card for Polanski, the home team did not do very much.

Team:

Wiese, Salihamidzic, Dede (72. Lahm), Kovac, Metzelder, Hargreaves, Ferguson (60. Daly), Sneijder, Gilardino, Pizarro, Berger (60. Makaay)

Bayer Leverkusen - 1. FC Nürnberg

Hamburger SV - Bayern München

26.02.2009 - What a sad day for Bayern München. Legendary striker Roy Makaay announces his retirement at the end of the season. Even the try to convince him to stay for another season was not successful. The dutch striker will be replaced by David Villa at the end of the season. Bayerns Manager Patrick Schulz told the press, that he enjoyed working with Makaay, who was a rolemodel for the younger players. They accept his announcement but Munich will surely miss the player and the man Roy Makaay.

01.03.09 - 24th league game

Hansa Rostock - Bayern München (0:0) 0:1

Both teams played very weak. It was an even game with no team in advantage. The goal by Podolski in the overtime made this victory to a very lucky for the guests. A match that did not deserve to have a winning team. It was a totally different game than the match in the last year, when Bayern beats Rostock with 9:0.

Team:

Wiese, Görlitz, Lahm (76. Dede), Metzelder, Lucio, Andreasen, Frings, Fusco (57. Daly), Jenas (76. Steinhöfer), Podolski, Adu

Goal:

0:1 Podolski (90.)

04.03.09 - Champions League 2nd round 2nd match

Bayern München - Sporting Lissabon (2:1) 3:1

With the 3:0 from the first match in the back, Munich played a cool ball. They did not panik after the 0:1 after 8 minutes. Before the break they turned the match and Lissabon was not able to put Bayern under pressure.

Team:

Wiese, Görlitz, Dede, Lucio, Nesta, Hargreaves, Ferguson (71. Berger), Sneijder, Cassano (71. Pizarro), Makaay (71. Daly), Gilardino

Goals:

0:1 Lourenco (8.)

1:1 Sneijder (21.)

2:1 Makaay (25. penalty)

3:1 Gilardino (56.)

06.03.2009 - The draw for the quarterfinal of the Champions League has been made. Here are the upcoming matches:

Lazio Rom - Chelsea London

Newcastle United - Bayern München

Manchester United - PSV Eindhoven

Arsenal London - FC Porto

Many english teams and at least 3 of them favourites in the quarterfinals. Only Newcastle should not plan any further round.

07.03.09 - 25th league match

Borussia Mönchengladbach - Bayern München (0:3) 2:3

Close in the end. In the second half Munich did not do anything. They seem absolutely sure that the 0:3 lead was enough. Gladbach tried a few times to break through Bayerns defense but only two efforts came onto the goal. Both shots were goals. Bayern did not find a way back into the match and had luck winning this match.

Team:

Wiese, Salihamidzic, Pander, Lucio, Metzelder, Frings (46. Hargreaves), Andreasen, Fusco (46. Daly), Bastürk (46. Steinhöfer), Adu, Pizarro

Goals:

0:1 Adu (24.)

0:2 Pizarro (29.)

0:3 Adu (43.)

1:3 Simr (58.)

2:3 Wimmer (81.)

12.03.2009 - Bastürk picked up an injury. He will miss 2 weeks.

14.03.2009 - After signing Robert Enke for the next season, Bayerns current goalkeeper Nestor Peralta found a new club. He will leave Munich at the end of the season and will join Hannover 96! Hannover pays € 1 Mio. Funny note: Both keepers change places. While Hannovers Enke joins Munich for free, Hannover gets Bayerns reserve keeper Peralta.

15.03.09 - 26th league game

Bayern München - Hamburger SV (2:0) 4:0

Bayern played a highly concentrated match and did not allow Hamburg to find into the match. Bayerns victory was secured within 10 minutes and afterwards Bayerns concentration did not fade like in Mönchengladbach.

Team:

Wiese, Salihamidzic (63. Lahm), Pander, Metzelder, Lucio, Andreasen, Daly, Jenas (63. Sneijder), Makaay, Cassano, Adu (63. Podolski)

Goals:

1:0 Makaay (2.)

2:0 Adu (10.)

3:0 Andreasen (75.)

4:0 Sneijder (90.)

15.03.2009 - Robert Kovac (DC) will leave Munich at the end of the season. The veteran defender (34 years old) joins FC Middlesborough on a free transfer. Kovac had 8 successful years for the german record champion. He still shows his skill if needed, but in Munich he is just defender number 5 and the contract expires.

16.03.2009 - What a pity! Roy Makaay picked up an injury. He will miss for 3 months. This will mean, that his career is over. It is a shame, that such a career ends like this. Goal machine Roy Makaay will not play again for Munich!

He played 65 times for the Netherlands (34 goals).

For Bayern he played 188 times (138 goals).

In total of his career he absolved 502 games (279 goals).

24.03.2009 - Cassano got injured. He will miss 3 weeks.

30.03.2009 - Leon Andreasen picked up an injury. One week pause for him.

01.04.2009 - Champions League quarter final first leg

Newcastle - Bayern München (0:1) 0:1

Bayern dominated the match. In the end Newcastle should be lucky that Bayerns strikers scored three or four times. If Newcastle plays like this in Munich, they will not reach the semi final.

Team:

Wiese, Salihamidzic, Pander, Nesta, Metzelder, Frings, Hargreaves, Daly (66. Fusco), Sneijder, Podolski (76. Berger), Gilardino (66. Adu)

Goal:

0:1 Podolski (12.)

04.04.2009 - 27th league match

Bayern München - Eintracht Frankfurt (2:0) 4:0

An easy victory for Bayern. 11:0 shots on target for the champion and Frankfurt without a real chance. Especially Gilardino impressed his Manager as his current form gets better and better.

Team:

Wiese, Görlitz, Lahm, Hofland, Metzelder (65. Nesta), Kobiashvili, Ferguson, Berger (65. Bastürk), Jenas (65. Fusco), Gilardino, Adu

Goals:

1:0 Gilardino (1.)

2:0 Gilardino (33.)

3:0 Gilardino (77.)

4:0 Fusco (82.)

06.04.2009 - Bad luck again for Paul Daly. The young man picked up an injury. He will be out of action for 3 weeks.

08.04.2009 - Champions League quarter final second leg

Bayern München - Newcastle United (2:0) 2:0

Very interesting match. In the end a deserved victory for the home team. But the match would have been more exciting if Bellamy scored from the spot against Wiese in minute 6. Broken after this failure Newcastle gave the match out of hand and Bayerns Sneijder did not do better than Bellamy in minute 53. Nevertheless a deserved victory for Bayern, who reach the semi finals.

Team:

Wiese, Salihamidzic, Dede, Lucio, Nesta, Hargreaves, Fusco (65. Fabregas), Adu (46. Berger), Sneijder, Gilardino (65. Pizarro), Podolski

Goals:

6. Minute Wiese saves penalty from Bellamy

1:0 Podolski (15.)

2:0 Gilardino (32.)

53. Minute Sneijder misses penalty

09.04.2009 - Tim Wiese picked up an injury. Since Peralta will leave the club in the end of the season, Patrick Schulz plans to give reserve keeper Höcker a chance. Wiese will be out of action for 2 weeks.

11.04.2009 - Champions League Semi Final Draw_

FC Porto - Manchester United

Bayern München - FC Chelsea

Comment: Nice draw. Porto suprised me by defeating Arsenal, but I guess Manchester will be too tough for the Portuguese. We surely want to beat Chelsea. I remember the Champions League final, a few years ago, which we lost in extratime. This time, we will have two matches and we know it will be tough, but we hope that we can do it up to the grand final and win the Champions League for the second time since I am manager here.

11.04.2009 - 28th league match

Hertha BSC Berlin - Bayern München (0:1) 1:1

An even match and a fair result. Both teams neutralized themselves and the defenses work pretty well. A draw is the only result this match should allow.

Team

Höcker, Görlitz, Pander, Kovac, Hofland, Kobiashvili (66. Frings), Andreasen, Ferguson (66. Fabregas), Jenas, Adu, Pizarro (66. Podolski)

Goals:

0:1 Adu (22.)

1:1 Afriyie (51.)

Now am on the current state and I will post the following results as I continue to play. First of all I will post the current league table as it was asked for by Palermo88

With the transfers for next season almost finished the squad for the next year gets clearer. I want to make a short preview for the next season.

3 players are surely going to leave the club. While Kovac and Kobiashvili should be easily replaced, Roy Makaay will miss the German champion. Makaay has been a great professional and surely will leave a hole which has to be filled by other players.

Tim Wiese will stay the number one even next year. Robert Enke is an experienced goalkeeper who has to prove that he can sit on the bench. Nestor Peralta was not able to do so and leaves the club after on year again.

In the defense not many changes occur. Kobiashvili leaves the club, but will be more than replaces by Ledley King. Patrick Schulz wants that King becomes a help for Frings, because Hargreaves` form again dropped a bit. Andreasen proved to be dangerous in the offense but if he is good enough to stay in the first team is questionable.

Robert Kovac will not be replaced by now. He is CB number 5 and Patrick Schulz thinks, that 4 CB are enough.

The Midfield is target of many changes. Källström and Jenas (this season already) join Munichs attacking midfield. While Sneijder seems to have his place in the team, Yildiray Bastürks future is in doubt. Even with a contract running for 2 years, the turkish international may leave the club. Bayerns Manager already told the player, that if he finds a club which offers a few million Euro, he may leave. Amateurplayer Steinhöfer has been sent to the reserve team. He seems not to be good enough to be in the first team. Remains Johann Berger. After an impressing first season his current form ist noct that good. It is possible, that Bayern let him go aswell, if the price is right. Otherwise they will keep him as a replacement if one of the others get injured.

Coming to the strikers, the leaving Makaay was already mentioned. David Villa should be more than able to step into this giant footsteps. With Gilardino, Pizarro, Adu, Podolski and Cassano the offense seem to be prepared for higher goals.

Rumors occur that Bayern thinks of selling one of them. Probably it is Cassano, who has a weaker season this year. But they surely await a large amount of money for this quality forward.

14.04.2009 - German Cup Semifinal

Hamburger SV - Bayern München (1:1) 2:1

The first big defeat in this season for the champions. Even with Lucio being sent off after 49 minutes, Bayern was the better team. 7:12 shots on target in the end, but Hamburgs keeper Stekelenburg was in impressive form this day. The great target of Patrick Schulz, to win the Triple this year is out of reach. Hamburg won through a good defense and great timing in scoring their two goals.

Team:

Rensing, Salihamidzic, Dede, Lucio, Nesta, Hargreaves, Frings, Fusco (50. Metzelder), Sneijder, Podolski, Gilardino

Goals:

0:1 Dede (31.)

1:1 Romeo (45.)

49. Minute Lucio sent off (2nd yellow card)

2:1 Moreira (51.)

In the other semifinal Leverkusen defeats Nürnberg 3:1 and awaits Hamburg in the final in Berlin.

Situation in the league: As you can see in the screenshot Bayern leads the table by 3 points in front of Stuttgart. Since Stuttgart has already a match more, Bayern has the chance to increase the distance to 6 points...

18.04.2009 - 29th league match

Bayern München - Karlsruher SC (2:0) 4:0

4 days before the game against Chelsea, Bayerns Manager chooses to play with a "B-Team" Debuting was reserve player Marco Klaus. Even with this team, the guests did not have a chance.

Team:

Rensing, Görlitz, Pander (61. Lahm), Kovac, Hofland, Kobiashvili, Klaus, Berger (61. Bastürk), Jenas, Podolski, Pizarro (61. Fusco)

Goals:

1:0 Kobiashvili (9.)

2:0 Jenas (19.)

3:0 Jenas (65.)

22.04.2009 - Champions League Semifinal First leg

Bayern München - FC Chelsea (1:0) 2:0

Directly on the birthday of Manager Schulz, his team fought a brave match against Chelsea. It was a real close match, only a few chances for each team. In the end the victory was too high. Chelsea was better than the result might say. Nevertheless a great result for the German champion.

Team:

Peralta, Salihamidzic, Dede, Metzelder, Lucio, Frings (72. Andreasen), Fabregas (72. Fusco), Ferguson, Adu, Pizarro, Gilardino (72. Podolski)

Goals:

1:0 Gilardino (45.)

2:0 Podolski (79.)

In the other match Porto beat Manchester United 1:0.

24.04.2009 - Levan Kobiashvili found a new club. After 3 years playing for Bayern München (66 games and 7 goals), he leaves Germany and joins Fc Southampton for free.

25.04.2009 - 30th league match

1. FC Köln - Bayern München (0:2) 0:4

The first half was a closer match than the result seems. The impressing Wesley Sneijder scored twice before the halftime. The second half was a easy time for Munich. Köln did not have the strength to come back into the match and Bayern came to an easy victory.

Since Stuttgart defeats Leverkusen 3:1 (two goals from Kevin Kuranyi), the German Championship is still open.

Team:

Rensing, Görlitz, Lahm, Nesta, Hofland, Andreasen, Fusco (46. Ferguson), Sneijder, Jenas (58. Berger), Podolski (70. Gilardino), Cassano

Goals:

0:1 Sneijder (6.)

0:2 Sneijder (20. penalty)

0:3 Ferguson (67.)

0:4 Gilardino (86.)

29.04.2009 - Champions League Semifinal 2nd Leg

FC Chelsea - Bayern München (0:1) 1:1

Disappointing home team was close to a real knock out by Bayern. Bayern was the much better team. 4:13 shots on target in the end leaves Chelsea very lucky with this result. It was again Wesley Sneijder directly before halftime, who destroys all hope for Chelsea. Damian Duff evens the score in minute 77 but this did not change the fact, that Bayern deserved the final.

Team:

Wiese, Salihamidzic (61. Lahm), Dede, Lucio, Metzelder, Frings, Hargreaves, Ferguson (61. Fabregas), Sneijder (61. Adu), Gilardino, Pizarro

Goals:

0:1 Sneijder (44.)

1:1 Duff (77.)

In the other match Manchester lost against FC Porto with 0:1. Therefore Bayern München will meet FC Porto in the Champions League final. It is a re-match for their close match from 1987 where Porto defeated Bayern by a superb goal from Rabat Madjer with 1:2.

Same time Borussia Dortmund drew VfB Stuttgart with 3:3.

With this result the situation in the german league changed. Stuttgart now is only 2 points behind Bayern but has already 2 matches more than Munich. While Stuttgart already played 32 times, Bayern has played only 30 times.

Köln has been relegated from the first division and follows Frankfurt on their way down.

03.05.2009 - 31st league match

Bayern München - Fc Schalke 04 (1:0) 5:0

Impressing. With this victory Bayerns advantage expands to 5 points and one game less than Stuttgart. Bayern never let a doubt who is going to win this match. 16:0 shots on target and Schalke way from their best form.

Team:

Wiese, Görlitz, Lahm, Hofland, Nesta, Andreasen, Fusco (46. Daly), Jenas (68. Sneijder), Gilardino (68. Adu=, Cassano, Podolski

Goals:

1:0 Podolski (23.)

2:0 Andreasen (59.)

3:0 Gilardino (67. penalty)

4:0 Sneijder (77.)

5:0 Andreasen (80.)

05.05.2009 - Bayern gets Nigel de Jong! The 24 years old DRLC from Sampdoria Genau joins Bayern München at the end of the season. The dutch international costs € 13 Mio. Patrick Schulz comments this transfer: A great deal. de Jong is a real alternative for all defensive positions. He will surely strengthen the team. Since Salihamidzic gets older and Philip Lahm is the only one who can play both sides of the defense, I wanted another player who can do this. This is for sure a transfer for the future, when Salihamidzic ends his career and or if an offer, which we cannot turn down occurs for one of the defenders.

06.05.2009 - 32nd league match

Bayern München - Rot-Weiß Oberhausen (4:0) 11:0

What a success! Bayern celebrated the highest victory in their history. Furthermore this win makes them German champion again. Oberhausen was totally destroyed by impressing Wesley Sneijder who now scored 8 times within the last 4 matches he played. 39:2 shots, 19:0 on target a disaster for Oberhausen. Bayern really wanted to make the championship fix and they did not stop playing wonderful soccer after they led with 4 goals.

Team:

Tim Wiese kept his form over the last year. Even with no real contender for the number One, he did a good job for Bayern and was very stable in his form. He rarely disappoints and often saves Munich a point or three. Even with Robert Enke instead of Nestor Peralta or Michael Rensing in his back, Wiese should be able to maintain his number one spot in the team.

Nestor Peralta

Nestor leaves the club after just one season again. We will join Hannover for the coming season. He did have a problem with sitting on the bench and asked for his release. If used in the team, his form was good and it seems as if Hannover gets a good successor for Robert Enke.

Hasan Salihamidzic, or "Brazzo" how he is called within the team, did a great job on the right side of Bayerns defense. The bosnian international saved his rating over the last 4 years and impressed by 9 assists leading to goals. Now when he gets older, the time of Andreas Görlitz will surely come, but Brazzo would not be the man, he is if he lets the younger man the first team spot without fighting for his position. Now when Nigel de Jong joins Bayern, another competitor arises, but Brazzo ist ready for competition.

Andreas Görlitz

Games: 26

Goals: 0

Assists: 7

Average Rating: 7.54

Caps: 29

Goals: 1

Games for Bayern: 139

Goals for Bayern: 3

Games in total: 235

Andreas Görlitz did his best to give Salihamidzic a close fight for the position as a right defender. His best season since playing for Bayern was not good enough to make his way to the first man for this position. Competition comes in form of Nigel de Jong. Görlitz will surely have to improve again to maintain his regular games.

Defenders Left

Dede

Average Rating: 7.87

Caps: 36

Goals: 0

Games for Bayern: 48

Goals for Bayern: 8

Games in total: 387

It is no wonder that Dedes form grows weaker than in the first season, where he had an average rating of 8.40! Even now he is the best player concerning the average rating in the squad. On the left defense he is still the number one. Lahm and Pander grew better but not good enough to get his place. If he keeps his form, Dede will surely be the number one as a left defender.

Philipp Lahm

Games: 26

Goals: 2

Assists: 2

Average Rating: 7.50

Caps: 50

Goals: 4

Games for Bayern: 117

Goals for Bayern: 6

Games in total: 252

Goals in total: 16

Stable form for 4 years now. Lahm is surely the man for the future. Dede ist 31 years old. Lahm and Pander will be his successors and Lahms biggest plus is also his biggest weakness: flexibility. He can play both sides in the defense and is playing regularly.

Christian Pander

Games: 21

Goals: 3

Assists: 6

Average Rating: 7.81

Caps: 17

Goals: 2

Games for Bayern: 88

Goals for Bayern: 6

Games in total: 160

Goals in total: 12

Pander is better than Lahm, if you just see the average. And perhaps he is indeed the better choice, but Patrick Schulz keeps Lahm as number two on this spot. Pander will surely get his amount of games, even with the new arriving Nigel de Jong. This is the position with the best possibilities and it is the position Patrick Schulz need not to worry about.

Defenders Central

Kevin Hofland

Games: 26

Goals: 0

Assists: 3

Average Rating: 7.62

Caps: 42

Goals: 2

Games for Bayern: 26

Goals for Bayern: 0

Games in total: 311

Goals in total: 15

Surprising but true: Kevin Hofland was the best central defender for Bayern last season. Concerninh the average rating, not even Lucio or Nesta were able to compete with the dutch international. Hofland impressed his Manager very much. It is not wonder that he declares Kevin Hofland and Lucio his Number one defense. Alessandro Nesta and Christoph Metzelder are second choice.

Lucio

Games: 25

Goals: 4

Assists: 1

Average Rating: 7.56

Caps: 127

Goals: 4

Games for Bayern: 151

Goals for Bayern: 13

Games in total: 289

Goals in total: 33

After two really great years from the legendary defender and captain of the brasilian national team, the last season was a step back. His rating decreased. At least his offensive ability seem to be intact. He is the most dangerous defenders in the league in front of the goal of the opponents. Lucio now at 31 years is the number one defender for Bayern.

Christoph Metzelder

Games: 27

Goals: 0

Assists: 3

Average Rating: 7.33

Caps: 46

Goals: 0

Games for Bayern: 27

Goals for Bayern: 0

Games in total: 276

Goals in total: 10

He came as the successor of Cribari and did well in his first season for Bayern. Well, but not too good. It is a shame that he is totally harmless in front of the goal, but his defensive abilities are very good. He surely will be on the mark when Nesta retires in the nearer future.

Alessandro Nesta

Games: 30

Goals: 2

Assists: 2

Average Rating: 7.47

Caps: 108

Goals: 1

Games for Bayern: 436

Goals for Bayern: 10

Games in total: 311

Goals in total: 15

In his career he only scored 10 times. Half of them did he score while in the shirt of Bayern München in the last two seasons. Nesta is a legend but even legends become slower when they reach 33 years. He will surely will get his time on the field but he will have to accept that these times will decrease in the future.
