Just on testing the 1Mb connection, god it’s a jump from 300K.

Hay reidy888 it was the same story with me, but I’m sure that 22 Million in transfers you received will help you get over it. I never get news like that “ oh by the way Milan want to give you 16M for a player do you want to acceptâ€.

I played Barca, Real Madrid, and some dodgy Kebab Team icon_wink.gif and lost all three, then I thought it could be worse at least I’m still in job and they have not sacked me.

padrico you’re just the nicest poster, flattering get you no were but its nice all the same.

Cheers Bud, yeah that cash will come in handy. I was pleasantly surprised when that £18m Luque bid came in. Should go a long way towards rebuilding the squad. Just hope the board give me a bit of time to get it right.

Valencia remain top of the league where else would they be? with half the season gone Barca are pushing the current champions all the way but manager Tonerino isn't too bothered.

On the signing front we've managed to bring in a talented goalkeeper in Jan whatshisname in a 6.5m deal from Deportivo, i'm sure he will provide excellent backup for the clubs number 1 Sebastian Saja.

We're through to the knockout stages of the CL where we will play Ajax and with the wealth of talent at our disposal this must surely be our year to win Europe's big one, despite being so close on numerous occasions i feel this is our best chance aslong as our key players stay focused and fit.

Back to the league and Marcotti was heard as saying Valencia were pretty much unstoppable however i disagree they are many good teams in Spain who just need a little luck but aslong as i'm manager of Valencia we won't be giving up the league crown easily and it WILL be 5 in a row icon_wink.gif

The not so mighty Sevilla have at last found themsevles a semi decent gaffer in Niko Christianez. The man that led Deportivo to err nothing but gave them a lot to cheer about on the way is now looking to push Sevilla up to an almighty midtable position by 2010.

Christianez outlines his intentions straight away when putting up a garage sale sign to show that he was getting rid of all the previous managers over paid "fuds" in order to stamp his authority on the team. He admits that one player he'd like to bring to Seville would be Chris Nicol, the Scottish (soon to be) Legend however he admits he may have to aim lower and settle for a Seville legend in Rab Douglas.

More to come.

Spanjocks-Osasuna.gif

Well just a quick round up.

Osasuna are still plugging away and fighting to keep a top ten place but with a lot on new managers in positions with more money its going to be hard this season.

Freddy Guarin has been brought in and went straight into the first team and has made an impact from the word go. Anatoly Guerk has pushed for his place up front with klose and relegated Drogba to the bench with his performances.

Our weakest spot or two central defenders who has done well considering has been addressed for next season with no less than 5 quality replacements on the way, how I’ll support the wages god only knows.

With the sale of one of our players and the near 6M generated it has covered us financially till now. But players will have to move on and funds raised just to keep afloat.

Sampdoria did the expected signing of or 16m rated Valdo on a free but this was accounted for 7 months ago icon_biggrin.gif when we could not possibly offer him the new contract of 43K a week he wanted icon_eek.gifand no clubs were interested in buying him. Christian Wilhelmsson was brought in as his replacement and has been slowly working his way into the first team and looks just as good.

depornew.gif

Deportivo La Coruna unveiled new manager Sergio Englasias officially to the media yesterday. In a blaze of publicity, Englasias made several stinging attacks on the clubs previous management. "The club is a shambles, it's been run like a cheap English holiday camp!!!", blasted Englasias.

Although the Depor board had given the new man a reasonable transfer budget of £8.25m, there were big changes in the pipeline.

With the upcoming transfer window approaching Englasias set about clearing out the "dead wood" at the club. This has also served to bring in some much need cash into the club in order to bring in several new faces. Englasias started with offloading the unsettled goalkeeper Jan Lastuvka to Valencia for a nice £6.5m. He was immediately replaced with the young Russian starlet Igor Akinfeev, a snip at £5.5m.

One of the major problems facing Englasias was the lack of attacking options and goals, this was addressed initially with the purchase of Niko Kranjcar from Dinamo Zagreb for £2m. Depor beat off interest from Real Madrid for his signature and the 23 year old Czech Republic international could prove to be a very astute purchase. Also on the attacking front Englasias has bought in the young Norwegian Daniel Fredheim Holm for £1.5m. He looks to have a bright future, at both club and international level.

Another major exit from the club was crowd favorite Albert Luque. In a controversial move Englasias let him depart to AC Milan for a healthy £18m windfall. This allowed the new man to continue recruiting new names. The next focus of his attentions was the defence. Three new fullbacks were brought in. Anthony Vanden Borre and Gabriel Heinze, who slot straight into the first team, and also young Belgian prospect Michael Kone from Roma. With the departure of Joan Capdevilla to Roma for £15m these defensive reinforcements were sorely needed.

Two unavoidable departures from the club in the form of Renato (a sale agreed by the previous manger) and Jonathan Blondel (minimum fee clause was met) to Lazio meant the squad numbers were depleted further, however with the £14.75m in transfer fees received by the club it meant that there was further scope for new faces.

Having assessed his squad in a bit more depth Englasias decided there was still not enough firepower in the forward line. As a result he splashed £7.75m on Liverpool's Djibril Cisse icon14.gif . The former Anfield hitman has a proven track record, and should score the goals to lift Depor towards safety. Another attcking option in the form of Thomas Buffel was brought in on a free transfer from Sevilla. An oversight in the previous Sevilla manager's contract negotiations saw the £0 minimum release clause exploited by Englasias.

Two defensive midfielders we re brought in to replace the outgoing Aldo Duscher in Leon Andreasen (£1.5m from AGF) and Tom Huddlestone (£5m from Derby). These two young battlers should become the rock upon the clubs future is built.

The final addition to the Deportivo squad of note is promising striker Tuni, a £6.5m purchase from Hercules. Known to be a clinical finisher, he should provide outstanding backup to the Cisse - Fredheim Holm strikeforce.

In a closing statement to the onlooking press, Englasias made this final statement, "In the cold light of day the Deportivo squad I inherited needed a serious overhaul. This I have started and I am very happy with my dealings in the transfer market." The next challenge facing the new man will be getting to grips with the unusual Span/Scot dialect adopted by his fellow strugglers/managers in La Liga! icon_wink.gif

Betis Steady The Ship

Betis slowly turn the tide, the defeats apart from coming from the league top side are stopping, victories are beginning to re-appear, the dressing room slowly beginning to believe in Santos once again.

Sitting around mid table, Betis are slowing moving there way up the table looking to grab a European spot finish.

The have a few tough games inline, a semi final Spanish Cup clash against Barcelona and Champions League knock out round tie against Chelsea on the horizon, things will be tough.

Having recently failed in games against Barcelona and Madrid, most of the tough games are out the way, so Santos will be looking to pick up more 3 points and move up the table.

The shock has come the Joaquin has asked to be transfered, a request that was denied but Santos knows an offer of 40 million will secure his signature, and 40 million can go a long way to building a team he may yet decide to cash in on his star player.

Review

While we remain very inconsistent it is great to see the team start to add some bite to the game. Despite the dissapointment of the goalless draw agains Villarreal and then the 2 nil home defeat to Zaragoza I, Niko Christianez, remain very upbeat. The team showed their steal for the full game against Elche and then Barcelona by grabbing 3 goals in the last 5 minutes which certainly lifted the spirit in the dressing room.

The Future

We are now safe from relegation and even have an outside spot of clinching a European place which would be a great boost. I wasn't concerned about the UEFA Cup this season as we had a depleted squad that could only cope with league duties at first but next season we hope to have more strength in depth and will look to challenge on all fronts.

Transfer News

By punting all of the previous managers overpaid duds and with the view to weeding the rest out in the summer I've successfully managed to capture the signature of Franco Semioli, Johan Volanthen, Harry Kewell, Patrick Paauwe, Javier Ernesto Chevanton and Mehdi Mahdavikia all on bosmans.

Unfortunately they are all attacking players where as we require defensive players but don't worry I'll sort that out nearer the time. Honest.

Kind regards,

Your Hero,

Niko Christianez
