Me and all my other mates were shckoed wen i was managing England and in 2010 there in the semi-finals of the COPA AMERICA. This is definatley football manager 08, which francly is the best managerial game ever.
kccircle
Is this another of those twists devised for those playing without a disk? Not accusing you of anything, but you do have a boxed game?

homerjnick
The Copa America sometimes invites teams (Japan and USA in real life) to the tournament. In your case is is England. Makes sense since they can't qualify for their continent tournament.
niktheblade1
Sometimes, teams outside America get invited for wider coverage, Japan were invited some years ago.

It is a tournament that the winners of each continental tournament play in. It is hosted by the World Cup hosts

Imperius
Being unable to get through a single match without one team or the other notching up 25+ goal attempts without wasting your life replaying hundreds of times...that's weird.
Kill Rock Stars
every single time this comes up people try to claim it isn't a bug. if that's the case, how come it's only ever england who get invited, and not any other team from europe? si said it was fixed in the last patch, so can people stop pretending that it isn't a bug. Not once has anyone reported someone like Spain being invited (who are probably the most likely Europeans to be invited). It was a bug which was fixed with the patch. Fire Bracelet
Just patch the game, England getting invited is ridiculous because it has none, zero, no chance of ever being invited in real life.

NepentheZ
The Copa America invites 1 nation outside of the regulations. If in your FM, which happens Often, England don't qualify for a major tourny, they often get invited. I've never had it in mine, but i have seen it in many. Kill Rock Stars
i've only once seen england fail to qualify for a major tournament in the game since fm06. dodgy they may be in real life, but in the game they're a bit overrated

Japan are the very reason that it's unlikely anyone outside of the Americas will ever be invited again.
