baker.simon
For a career game. I'm looking for longevity, randomness and choice. I'd also like a good spread of newgens and I'll be using the large database. My specs are 2ghz dual core and 2gb ram. I only ask as I always struggle to find a good long term set-up. nine_iron
If you are on a laptop then maybe its time to buy a new PC, if ur on a desktop upgrade it or buy a new one. I think you will struggle to get a massive database running. Try a custom database for the randomness, it can really help add the diversity to the game you are looking for. baker.simon
Yeah, I mean I just have no idea where to go and what to do get the best choices available. My laptop works finr with FM10, I'm currently 7 seasons into my current save that has England, Scotland and Spain all levels loaded, and a large database and it's coping fine to be honest. Just wish I could crack how to setup the perfect long term career game. Is it true you can still only manage in 3 nations throughout the save anyway? Yid Army
No. If you cancel the new game wizard, you can select as many as you like. What sort of budget are you on for the machine and are you looking for a lappy or desktop?
brambleten
i've seen a lot of people have fun managing in South Africa, so it might be worth throwing in the two tiers available from there and seeing if you can topple Kaiser Chiefs from their dominance. I'm more looking for a decent game setup that would run ok on the specs in the OP

Whirlwind
I think load leagues from no more than 5 countries. And go Random. Played like that once in 09... started at Boca Juniors, was successful for 3 - 4 seasons, thought I could go to Europe on a whim. Resigned, and had to wait 6 months for a job offer. Middlesbrough hovering above relegation zone with half the season gone. Brought them up to 2nd, Roma came knocking, and off to Rome I went. Don't remember much else from that save... DominicForza
I have never wished I had loaded LESS nations or leagues...but I have wished I had loaded MORE!
Ralph Longo
I'd make sure I was rocking 10.3 before even playing this game.

I've been playing FM all the time through 10.1 and 10.2, still the same save I setup on release day.
