yeah, and by comparison to Arsenal just look at the string of youngsters that have come through our system and broken into the 1st team over the last 5 or 6 years.

Hence my reason for stating domestic youngsters who have been hyped and whom they have actually signed after the hype.

but they have almost been hyped up as much as Rooney was and that was what I was getting at.

Pennant was a 15 year old signing, Theo someone who had played half a season in the Championship - versus Rooney who had played 2 seasons in the Premiership and already had scored double figures for England before he moved.

I don't think the hype was anywhere near the same imo

Just out of curiosity, what exactly makes it clear that he wants to go now?

He's always said he wants to play in Spain someday. He's also been quoted recently as not wanting to go while Fergie is in charge, wanting to become a United legend and then there's the quote from his mum that he'll be staying. It's not all as one-sided as Marca would have you believe.

He also said he wanted to stay at united 2 mins after the final then 5 mins after that he just disregarded it, it annoys me that madrid are just feeding his ego and trying to disrupt him at the club

heh. i'll have you know the AD is trading roughly equivalent to the USD atm.

so #6.50 is probably an overestimate. icon_frown.gif

Even his corrugated iron huts would be worth more than anything to do with that skanky bitch Beckham married (with the possible exception of her vow of silence).

Only £60m

The cheek

You kno what I mean though, with Real Madrid it is say one thing, mean another, always.

Ratinho your right as well. Wage wise with what he gets for merchandise etc. he's on roughly the same anyway. And no one, not even Real Madrid would be stupid enough to offer one player £300k a week. So, we'll just have to wait and see. I hope his mother was right though, she said he's staying.

Hah, on another note Calderon has just added another statement, "we have done nothing wrong". Must have realised his initial mistake, of just saying no evidence. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

So because in one paper a while ago it said £100m+ and now it says £60m+ you think Real Madrid are "say one thing, mean another"?

Surely you relise 99% of everything you read is made up? What else are they going to talk about, Gera to Fulham?

And if Ronaldo was going to finally reveal to the press that he wants to go to Madrid he wouldn't tell a bloody Brazillian newspaper. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

No I mean they probably would say to Ronaldo, you come because we're offering what they want etc. when in reality they would not pay £100m plus in cash for a player. We've seen it all with Madrid before, and I think we all know of the connections between Madrid and Marca.

On another note I didn't say anything about the Brazillian paper, and I have posted before about how Brazillian paper would be the last he would go to, so you really shouldn't have used that in your argument.. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Sorry, the Brazilian paper thing was nowt to do with what I was saying to you... just summing up my opinions on the whole Ronaldo sleep fest.

had a feeling Ramsey was Arsenal-bound over the last couple of days. shame. can't help feeling we've buggered this up somehow (the premature announcement, Fergie not meeting him, not getting Giggs to do the tour guide thingy and bend his ear a bit), guess time will tell how costly it is.

not gonna happen i'm afraid mate, off out shortly, doubt i'll be back much before six.

probably better to read it the day after, it's easy to lose track of what's going on amidst all the coding errors.

Doctor: 'Porn less shameful than games'

Tuesday, June 10 2008, 11:30 BST

By David Gibbon, Gaming Reporter

A leading US psychiatrist has revealed gamers who are addicted to online RPG title World Of Warcraft feel more ashamed than those addicted to online pornography.

Dr. Jerald Block, who was speaking about the rise in online addicts and cases he has dealt with, said while pornography addiction is 'socially acceptable', gamers believe their addiction is not.

Block told The Boston Globe: "Computer gamers tend to be harder to treat. People feel a lot of shame around computer games. Whereas, it's socially acceptable to have a porn problem.

"As a society we understand that porn is something people do, and you can see a psychiatrist and get treated for it. But gaming is hard to describe to anyone else.

“So these people can't explain their situation to friends. In fact, it's hard to give you an example of what my clients talk about, because gaming is enormously complicated.â€

See that Johnny?

You should be more ashamed than me!

quite weird, was only doing some googling last night to find out how he was doing after we let him go. the comparisons with him were always with Patrick Vieira, in terms of stature it's a very obvious comparison. he looked very very promising for about a year with us but then got injured and was barely fit for more than a fortnight at a time for the rest of his time with us so it's hard to say. getting let go after six months with Randers in Denmark presumably isn't a good sign but if he can tap into the raw talent he clearly had pre-injury then he's worth a punt on a free certainly.
