End of season update 2013/14

Adaminho - Moving to new club Portsmouth, many would have expected Adaminho to be a bit part player as manager Steve Coppell favoured one up front, and that looked likely to be Jermaine Defoe. However, making an impressive start to the season, the ambitious striker went on to make 36 appearances netting 15 times with a 7.22 rating. Playing more games than rival Defoe. This was form which helped Pompey exceed all expectations and finish in fourth place, qualifying for the champions league next season. And Adaminho’s season was given its cherry on the cake, when the uncapped striker was a surprise inclusion in the England 2014 world cup squad. Hoping to win his first full cap on the biggest stage, it is starting to show that his gamble of leaving Rangers has paid off.

Jose Manuel Arevalo - Since signing a new contract with Espanyol Jose’s form experienced and improvement, as did his team’s fortune. The strong centre-back made a total of 40 appearances for the Spanish side, scoring 1 from 16 shots with 8 on target, 2 assists and finishing the season with a 7.03 rating. This saw Espanyol finish in a disappointing 9th place. However, their league form may have suffered due to a UEFA Cup push. Making it all the way to the final, Espanyol beat RC Strasbourg 1-0 in a thrilling encounter to see Arevalo claim his winners medal. And Jose was their star player throughout the tournament with a 7.55 rating in the UEFA Cup alone. The Andorran has also won his 53rd international cap.

Mike Bird - Following his transfer window move to Inter Milan, Mike played more games than he did in the first half of the season for Manchester City. And he was in impressive form after a big move, scoring 4 in 9 starts with a 7.00 rating, Bird saw Inter finish the league in 7th place. Settling in well in Italy, the former Portuguese Under-21 considers fellow former Conference star Callum McCarthy as his favourite personnel. Mike will hope to continue to impress next season and compete for a first team place with Ibrahimovic and Tevez.

Bobinho - After completing a transfer window move from Celtic to Arsenal, Bobinho has struggled to cement a first team place for himself. While his side finished in a disappointing 7th place, the Welsh striker contributed a 7.00 rating from his 4 first team starts. And although named in the squad as Arsenal reached the FA Cup final, he had to watch their extra time victory from the bench. He will undoubtedly be hoping for a more regular run in the first team in the next campaign. Bobinho has now won 19 caps for Wales, still with just 2 goals to his name.

Peter Brown - Brown was in good form in his third season at the Stadium of light. As his side finished in a respectable 8th place in the Premier league, the enthusiastic striker contributed 12 goals in 24 appearances with a 7.04 rating. Form which was good enough to earn him a regular place in the England squad. And after winning 8 caps with a 5 goal return, Brown was named in England’s 2014 World cup squad. And he will desperate to show what he can do o the world’s biggest stage.

Adam Clatworthy - Following last season’s phenomenal form, Adam stunned everyone by continuing this year in the same vein. As Chelsea won the Premier league, finishing 3 points clear of Liverpool and West Ham, Clatworthy was an integral part of their success. In 42 appearances the explosive striker netted 17 goals and 7 assists with a 7.52 rating in all competitions. This was form which won him the English footballer of the year award ahead of Fernando Torres. The Chelsea legend has now made 35 caps for Northern Ireland, with 18 goals.

Alfonso de silva Santos - After a disappointing spell last season, this year has been in complete contrast for Alfonso. As Roma finished top of Serie A, the world class striker was one of the club’s star performers. In 34 starts the Andorran, playing primarily as a lone front man, netted 13 times with 2 assists and a 7.29 rating. This earned him second place in the Serie A Foreign player of the year award, behind Ibrahimovic and ahead of Freddy Adu. Alfonso also won his 55th cap for Andorra, with 7 goals.

Robert Dillon - While AC Milan finished 3 points behind Serie A champions Roma, Dillon was on excellent form for the Italian side. Making a massive 51 starts, Dillon bagged 25 goals with 4 assists and 6 MoM awards with a 7.33 rating to add to his reputation as a cultured forward. But he was inexplicably left on the bench for the Italian cup final and he watched his side lose their lead to go down 2-1 to Brescia. The lethal finisher was second place in the Serie A scoring charts behind Empoli’s Ceravolo. Dillon also won his 10th international cap for Montenegro, with 3 goals.

Fredino - While his Sunderland side finished the league in a respectable 8th place, Fredino has struggled for form this season. Making 23 appearances for his club the explosive striker netted an impressive 9 goals, but with a disappointing 6.78 rating. With a wealth of strikers at the Stadium of light, Fredino will have to improve to establish himself as a first team regular. The Welshman also on his 33rd international cap with an impressive 12 goals.

Frketson - After 3 and a half seasons at Barcelona, Frketson has made a name for himself as being supremely consistent. And this season was no exception. As Barca finished 4th in the Spanish league, the world-class centre-back made 46 starts with 1 goals, 1 assist and 4 MoM awards with a 7.20 rating and 6.41 tackles per game. This saw him named in the Spanish first division team of the season for the third year running. His reputation for consistency has earned him his landmark 50th cap for Croatia, and also a place in the squad for the 2014 World cup.

Pablo Gonzalez - Making the move from Spain to Italy, Gonzalez was keen to get off to a good start for his new club Cagliari. While the club were in disappointing form, narrowly avoiding relegation, Gonzalez finished as their top scorer and established himself as a first team regular. Making 38 starts he netted 10 goals with a 6.95 rating. While it may not have been the explosive start to his Italian career that he would have wished for, next season should be set for a big improvement.

Haowan - Another player to make the move from Spain to Serie A, Haowan has made an excellent start to his Italian career. Exceeding expectations with a 5th placed finish, Haowan was instrumental in Napoli’s performances. Making 44 starts the former Spanish Under-21 scored 16 with 3 assists, 6 MoM awards and a 7.32 rating. Form which also helped the centre-forward’s team reach the semi-final of the Italian cup, only to be hammered by AC Milan. In an excellent year for Napoli, Haowan will hope to be able to repeat his form as they compete in the UEFA cup next season.

Juan King - In his 4th season with Marseille, Juan has experienced his best form yet. Making 29 starts the powerful striker bagged 15 goals and 3 assists with a 7.37 rating. This was enough to see him named in the French league dream team. Marseille achieved what the media predicted by finishing the campaign in 5th place and a good cup run saw them reach the semi-final of the league cup. But the club will have to start winning again if they want to keep hold of in form King. Juan King also made 43 caps for Northern Ireland scoring 22 goals.

Quincy Klapatross - In his first full season with Arsenal, Quincy found himself become a more regular member of the first team. Making 23 appearances he scored 6 with 2 assists, 2 MoM awards and a respectable 7.00 rating as the misfiring Gunners finished in a disappointing 7th place. But there was some success in the form of the FA cup, where Quincy made a substitute appearance in the final to help his side beat Charlton 2-1 in extra time. With 10 caps for Holland and an impressive 7 goals in that time, Quincy has been named in the highly rated Dutch squad for the 2014 World cup.

Callum McCarthy - In his 4th season with Italian giants Inter Milan, it is in this campaign where Callum has hit his best form so far. While Inter finished in a disappointing 7th place, McCarthy was on top form in his 36 appearances, scoring 2 with 3 assists and a 7.22 rating. The World-class full-back was subsequently awarded third place in the Serie A player of the year awards and named in the Serie A team of the year. This form has earned a wealth of interest from clubs such as AC Milan, Deportivo and Real Madrid. However any transfer speculation was cut short as he signed a new contract until 2019. McCarthy has now won 32 caps for England with 4 goals, and the international regular has earned an expected 2014 World cup call-up.

Brendan Petersen - Following his £2.5 million move to Celta, Brendan has experienced his first run of competitive games since leaving Burnley. Given the #1 shirt, the Aussie keeper made 17 starts for the side who ended the season relegated in bottom place. Depite his side’s terrible form, Petersen conceded just 21 goals, keeping 4 clean sheets with a 6.88 rating. Performing well for a poor side, Petersen’s minimum release fee of £6 million will most likely get activated in the pre-season. Particularly as the keeper, capped 7 times for Australia, is named to represent his country in the 2014 World cup.

Loic Philippens - In his 4th season at Old Trafford, Loic has continued to establish himself as a first team player. Making 38 appearances in all competitions, the explosive forward scored 10 goals with 2 assists and 4 MoM awards with a 7.00 rating as Manchester United slipped to a disappointing 5th place. While playing primarily in central midfield for his club, means few goals, internationally he is on fire. Winning his 24th cap for Belgium Loic has netted a stunning 31 goals for his country. But unfortunately he won’t have the opportunity to strut his stuff in he World cup as Belgium failed to qualify.

Tom van der Fish - It has been a disappointing season for Tom. Making just 2 first team appearances with 1 goals and a 6.50 rating, the flamboyant striker has spent the majority of the season in the reserves. Where he has impressed with 10 goals in 14 appearances with 6 MoM awards and a 7.36 rating. Missing out on Chelsea’s premiership success, Tom will hope to be knocking on the door of the first team next season.

Arthur White - Starting his 6th season with Newcastle, White has never had a seasonal average rating below 7.29, and this campaign was no exception. Although the club barely exceeded expectations with an 11th placed finish, Arthur was in form which belied his club. Making 28 starts the explosive striker netted 11 goals with a 7.32 rating. Form which continued to raise the question of whether he should be looking to move to a more successful club. After winning 12 England caps with 8 goals, White has been named in the national squad for the 2014 World cup.

Ben Whitehead - While Whitehead was in excellent form last season, despite his club Roma underachieving, this year has been the opposite. As Roma claimed the top spot in Serie A, Whitehead has struggled to find a consistent vein of form. Still favoured on the left wing by manager Spalletti, Ben made 38 appearances scoring 5 goals with 1 assist and a 6.97 rating. Despite relatively disappointing form, Whitehead still won the Serie A Young player of the year award. The explosive winger has played well for England. Winning his 16th cap with 5 goals, Whitehead surprised no one by being named in the England squad for the 2014 World cup.

Shame about Man Utd's poor season but Loic was ok. Can't believe he only managed 2 assists all season for club and country although saying that he doesnt have time to set anyone else up for Belgium because he's too busy banging them in himself icon_biggrin.gif

Another good update KUTGW

Dillon had a minor injury recently which meant he missed a few days which may explain it somewhat. But with that amount of goals I wouldn't worry about it!

2014 World cup update

England- Drawn in Group B with Cameroon, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay, England would have been confident of reaching the knockout stage. However, it wasn't as smooth a ride as they would have hoped. In their opening match against Cameroon they relied on the heroics of substitute Arthur White to score two equalisers in a 2-2 draw, after replacing debutant Adaminho who made his England debut. The next result was more satisfying, defeating Saudi Arabia 4-1 with Whitehead and McCarthy getting 8 ratings and Adaminho winning his second cap from the bench. In the crucial final group game, England were disappointing. Although they seased top spot in the group by 1 goal, they only managed a 0-0 draw with Uruguay.

Through to the second round, England faced an unconvincing Czech Republic side. In an even match, Wayne Rooney's 74th minute goal was enough to win for England. Whitehead and McCarthy started the game, while Arthur White replaced Walcott minutes before the goal.

In the quarter-finals, England faced the challenge on a impressive USA side, who dispatched Germany 2-0 in the previous round. And it was the American side who took the lead with an Altidore goal after just 5 minutes. But fortunes changed after an attacking substitution of full-back Mattock for striker Adaminho on the 62nd minute led to Adaminho's first international goal in the 64th. And in the 72nd minute Rooney sealed a 2-1 victory and a semi-final place.

For the semi-finals, England faced their toughest challenge yet against in form Brazil. And they proved to be too much for England as 2 Pato goals sealed a convincing victory. Although McCarthy and Whitehead started the game, with Adaminho appearing as a sub, none of the conference wonderkids made an impression on the game.

In the third placed playoff, England lost 1-0 to Mexico.

Croatia- Drawn in Group H with Costa Rica, Ivory coast and Portugal, Croatia were never ging to have an easy run. Their campaing kicked off with a goal-fest against Ivory coast, with Croatia running out 4-3 winners, including the first ever international goal for Frketson after 17 minutes. Croatia then went on to beat Costa Rica 1-0 and a 0-0 draw with Portugal saw them finish second in the game, behind only by 1 goal difference.

In the second round, Croatia faced France. Going behind to a Ben Arfa goal after just 13 minutes, Croatia equalised through a Plumb Jusufi goal on the 17th. But France's domination payed off when Benzema scored the winning goal on the 80th minute.

Holland- Drawn with Brazil, Iran and Mexico, Holland would have fancied their chances of making it through to the second round, despite a tricky group. It got off to a decent start as they drew 1-1 with Brazil, where the Dutch were arguably the better side. Klapatross made a substitute appearance on the 60th minute. Holland again struggled to turn posession in to goals, completely dominating Iran but only caiming a 1-0 victory as Klapatross made another appearance from the bench. While they also dominated Mexico in the final group game, they suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat. With Klapatross being brought on only at half time, it could be argued that more starts from the in-form striker could have helped the Dutch side avoid leaving the World cup in the group stage.

Australia- In Group E with Italy, Paraguay and Sweden, Australia would have hoped to avoid finishing bottom of the group. But they started well with a 3-1 victory over Paraguay. But then suffered a 3-0 defeat to Italy and a 4-1 drubbing against Sweden. Unfortunately, Petersen failed to make an appearance in the competition.

The eventual winners were Spain, who beat Brazil on penalties in the final after a 0-0 draw, with Kaka missing the crucial penalty. Carlos Vela was named the World cup best player, as Torres won the golden boot. The world cup dream team was dominated by Spanish names, as the side finished the tournament conceding just 1 goal, in the 3-1 semi-final win over Mexico. Scoring 15 goals in that time, they showed themselves to be worthy winners.

Brief early season 2014/15 update

Adaminho- Has made an excellent start to Portsmouth's Premier league campaign following his international exploits. In 6 starts he has bagged 5 goals with a 7.50 rating, helping Pompey to th place.

Jose Manuel Arevalo- Following an impresive couple of season with Espanyol, Jose has returned to France with Champions league qualifying Paris Saint-Germain in a £10 million deal. Making a solid start so far with 2 assists and a 7.17 rating from 6 starts, the Andorran international will hope to help improve on the clubs position of 6th in the league.

Mike Bird- Starting his first full season with Inter Milan, Mike has made a big impression so far. With the season just beginning, Mike has made 2 starts, scoring 2 in each with a MoM award in both games and a 9.00 rating. Bird will hope to establish himself in the first team and continue his form.

Bobinho- As Arsenal have made an unimpressive start sitting in 16th, Bobinho has been in solid, if uninspiring form. Making 3 starts with a 7.00 rating, the Welsh international will hope to help his club and himself on to better things.

Peter Brown- Brown has made a phenomenal start to the season with Sunderland. Netting 4 goals in 5 starts with a 7.60 rating helping his club in to 4th place. The striker has come on in leaps and bounds recently, and he will hope for another season of improvement.

Adam Clatworthy- Clatworthy has proven himself to be a world-class player in previous seasons with Chelsea. And this season has started well. Making 4 appearances he has averaged 7.50, but a lack of goals may worry the clinical striker.

Alfonso de silva Santos- AFter some excellent performances last year, the Andorran striker will hope to continue where he left off. But with a disappointing 6.50 rating in his 2 starts so far, he will hope to regain his form soon before finding himself down the pecking order in a competetive, but disappointingly 16th placed, Roma side.

Robert Dillon- Following consistent form over the past few seasons for AC Milan, the unstoppable goal scorer has started the season brilliantly. In his 2 starts he has netted twice with an 8.00 rating. And he will hope to continue to impress the Italian fans.

Fredino- It has been a mixed start for Fredino. As Sunderland sit in 4th place, the Welsh striker has bagged 3 in his 5 starts, but with a disappointing 6.80 rating. He will hope to continue his goal scoring form while improving his all round performances.

Frketson- Despite transfer speculation linking the world-class centre-back with Roma and Real Madrid, Frketson has stayed at Barcelona. And the season has started well. With Barca sitting in fifth, teh Croatian has done his part with a 7.50 rating in 4 starts.

Pablo Gonzalez- Pablo has made an impressive start to his second season at Cagliari. Amking 3 starts the striker has bagged 2 goals with a 7.67 rating. Gonzalez will hope to continue his form and earn himself an international place with Mexico, or even World cup winners Spain.

Haowan- Haowan has made an excellent start to the season with Napoli. With 2 goals and an assist in just 2 starts, with an excellent 8.50 rating the centre forward has been in inspired form so far.

Juan King- King has made an impressive start in his fifth season at Marseille. In 5 starts he has netted 3 times with a 7.60 rating. And Juan will hope to continue to push for the top spot as his side sit in 2nd.

Quincy Klapatross- A disappointing start to the season for Quincy. As Arsenal struggle for form the Dutch international has only a 6.67 rating from his 3 starts so far. While his future is uncertain, interest from Espanyol and Juventus could mean move is on the cars.

Callum McCarthy- Following a solid World cup showing, McCarthy has started his domestic season well. Making 4 starts Callum has created 2 goals with a 7.75 rating. Form which shows why Chelsea, Roma, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all showing a keen interest in the player.

Brendan Petersen- Petersen has reclaimed his Number 1 jersey from last season for Celta. As his side sit 5th in the league Brendan has made 3 starts, conceding 1 in each with a 6.67 rating.

Loic Philippens- While Loic has been in stunning form for Belgium recently, he has struggled to replicate those performances for Man United. But it has been a solid start so far. Making 2 starts he has scored 1 goal with a 7.00 rating.

Tom van der Fish- Languishing in the Chelsea reserves, Tom saw his ticket to first team football in a loan move to Newcastle. And it has been a solid start so far for the striker, making 2 starts with a 7.00 rating. Tom will hope to impress enough to become a first team choice back at his London club.

Arthur White- Following a mixed World cup experience, White hoped to return to normality with Newcastle. But this year's campaign has been a slow start with 2 starts and 1 sub appearance, White has failed to score despite achieving a 7.00 rating.

Ben Whitehead- Following his world cup exploits, Whitehead has returned to Roma with decent form for an underperforming club. Making 3 starts he has averaged 7.00 and will hope to pick up his form as the season continues. If Roma continue to struggle, an exit route may be available in the shape of a very interested Chelsea side.

Transfer window update, 1st Februrary 2015

Adaminho- Adaminho has been in excellent form for a Portsmouth side who find themselves challenging for Champions league football in 4th (FOURTH icon_wink.gif ) place. Making 24 appearances so far, more than anyone else in the squad, he has netted 12 goals with a 7.33 rating. Unfortunately, the English striker has recently picked up a torn calf muscle, meaning he won't be returning for about 3 months. Which will be a massive blow for Pompey's league ambitions. Adaminho has now won 6 England caps, with 1 goal.

Jose Manuel Arevalo- Returning to France in the pre-season, Jose has been in excellent form for new club Paris Saint-Germain. As the club sit top of the French league, and soon face Inter Milan in the first knockout round of the UEFA Cup after dropping out of the Champions league, the Andorran has been an integral part of their squad. Making 30 starts, Arevalo has bagged 2 goals, 3 assists and 4 MoM awards with a 7.20 rating. Jose has also won his 56th cap for Andorra.

Mike Bird- Mike has been in impressive form in his first full season at Inter Milan. In 13 appearances so far, Bird has scored 6 with 2 MoM awards and a 7.23 rating. Despite his good form, Mike has yet to earn a consistent place in the Inter first team, which has led to a desire to leave the club. After proving himself capable as a first team player, should the powerful striker become available for transfer a number of top European clubs should be interested.

Bobinho- Despite a lacklustre start to the season, Bobinho and his club Arsenal have really turned on the performances. With the Gunners up in fifth place after a series of disappointing season last year, Bobinho has established himself as a key first team player in the squad rotation system. Making 14 starts so far, the Welsh striker has netted 7 goals and 1 assist with a 7.29 rating. Unfortunately a groin strain ruled him out of his sides League cup semi final defeat on penalties to Newcastle. But back to full fitness now, Bobinho will hope to continue his form. He has now won 22 caps for Wales, scoring 7 goals.

Peter Brown- In his fourth season with Sunderland, Brown is experiencing his most successful season yet. As Sunderland have stormed to the top spot in the Premiership, the England internationals striker partnership with Fredino has been a highlight of the season. Making 25 starts, Brown has netted 11 times with a 7.32 rating. Unfortunately, as the club were on the verge of going through to the league cup final, Brown was sent off for his second bookable offence in extra time, shortly after which Fulham grabbed the winning goal. However, it would seem that they have bigger issues at hand this season as they compete to win the Premiership crown. Brow has now won 10 caps for England, with 6 goals.

Adam Clatworthy- While champions Chelsea struggle for form in 9th place, Clatworthy has been typically superb. Making 25 starts Adam had scored 15 goals with 3 assists and 5 MoM awards and a 7.56 rating. While he feels the squad has more potential than it is showing, it seems at the moment that Clatworthy is all that stands between Chelsea and mediocrity. In addition, the Chelsea fan favourite has been named the World footballer of the year for the second time in his short career! Winning 498 voting points over Freddy Adu's 264 and teammate Obi Mikel's 167. The world's best player has also won 36 caps for Northern Ireland, scoring 18 goals.

Alfonso de silva Santos- After an uncertain start to the season, Alfonso has shown what a world-class striker he is by turning on the style despite an underperforming Roma side. Given 28 starts so far, Santos has bagged 14 goals and 2 assists with a 7.39 rating. Form which sees him rated as the top scorer in Serie A. Despite poor domestic form, Roma sailed through their champions league group winning every game and conceding just 1 and will face Lyon in the first knockout stage. Alfonso has now won 60 caps for Andorra, but has yet to add to his international record of 7 goals.

Robert Dillon- As AC Milan sit in a slightly disappointing 5th place in Serie A, Dillon has remianed in impressive form. Making 28 starts for his side this season the cultured forward has netted 9 times, with 5 assists and an excellent 7.43 rating. Playing as part of a three man attack with Adu and Pato, Milan have had no problem finding the back of the net, but have been let down by a weak defence. The club have also gone on to reach the fist knockout round of the Champions league against Valencia Establishing himself as a regular international, Dillon has won 13 caps for Montenegro, scoring 3 goals.

Fredino- This season Fredino has been in excellent form, proving an integral part of a rampant Sunderland side who sit top of the Premier league. Making 25 starts so far, the Welsh striker has scored 16 goals with a 7.28 rating. Especially pleasing has been his partnership with fellow Conference wonderkid Peter Brown, which has seen the pair bag a total of 27 goals this season. Unfortunately, after scoring in the 3-2 victory over Chelsea Fredino fractured his ribs and will be out for between one or two months. Fredino has also won 34 caps for Wales, scoring 12 goals.

Frketson- Continuing his series of great performances for Barcelona, Frketson's consistency has carried through to this season. As Barcelona sit in second place behind last years champions Sevilla, Frketson has made 27 starts, scoring 1 with 2 assists and 5 MoM awards with an excellent 7.44 rating. Form which has earned the World-class centre-back transfer interest from Roma and Real Madrid. However, Barca will be reluctant to sell and will most likely demand a huge transfer fee in exchange for the irreplaceable Frketson. The player has also won his 58th cap for Croatia, scoring 1 goal.

Pablo Gonzalez- In his second season with Serie A side Cagliari, Gonzalez has been in good form. Although his side look set for a season of struggle against relegation sitting in 17th place, Pablo has formed an impressive partnership up front alongside Braulio. Making 22 starts the determined striker has netted 7 times with 1 MoM award and a 7.00 rating. Pablo will hope to pick up on his form an help his side avoid relegation, or face the prospect of his fifth career transfer.

Haowan- After impressing for Napoli in last season's campaign, Haowan has been in excellent form this campaign. Despite his side sitting in 14th place, on the verge of a relegation dogfight, Haowan has been the sides best performer by far. Making 21 starts so far the former Spanish Under-21 has netted 12 goals with 3 MoM awards and a 7.43 rating. Hs form has also seen him named in the Serie A team of the week three times this season. While determined to help his side improve on their league position, there can be little doubt that a continuation of this form will lead to serious interest from more successful clubs.

Juan King- As the fans witness Juan King in Marseille for fifth season in succession, this campaign has been the most spectacular so far. With the club sitting 4th in the French league and through to the first knockout stage of the UEFA Cup, they largely have star player Juan King to thank. With 30 starts and a return of 16 goals, 3 MoM awards and a 7.57 rating, King is justifiably proud of his club's league position. King has capped it all by winning the December goal of the month award by scoring a screamer from the edge of the area against Stade Rennais. King has now won 47 caps for Northern Ireland, scoring 23 goals.

Quincy Klapatross- Playing for a resurgent Arsenal squad, Quncy has been in solid form for the fifth placed side. Making 19 first team starts the explosive striker has scored 5 goals with 1 assist, 1 MoM award and a 7.00 rating. While lower in the pecking order of Arsenal strikers, Klapatross will be pleased to have earned so many starts, but disappointed that their UEFA Cup campaign was so poor. Internationally, Quincy has won 17 caps for Holland, scoring 9 goals.

Callum McCarthy- Making himself part of the furniture in his fifth season at Inter Milan, Callum McCarthy is enjoying one of his most impressive seasons yet. As the side sit in a disappointing 9th place, McCarthy has been superb while playing primarily on the left side of midfield. In his 26 starts the England international has bagged 4 goals with 9 assists, 3 MoM awards, a 82% pass rate and a 7.27 rating. Playing so well for an underachieving side has led to clubs such as Blackburn, Lyon, Roma, AC Milan, Real Madrid and Valencia chasing the World-class full-back. McCarthy has now won 44 caps as an England regular, with 6 goals.

Brendan Petersen- In his second season with Spanish side Celta, Petersen is still enjoying the role on Number 1 keeper. As the side sit in 7th place in the league, the Aussie keeper has made 25 starts, conceding 25 goals with 7 clean sheets and a 7.00 rating, although a combatative streak has seen him red carded twice this season. However, this isn't enough for the ambitious keeper who states that he wants to leave to join a bigger club. But so far only French side FC Sochaux have expressed an interest. Petersen has 9 caps for Australia.

Loic Philippens- As his form has improved gradually throughout his time an Manchester United, this season has been amongst his best yet. Despite his side sitting in a disappointing 7th place, Loic has netted 10 goals in his 20 starts with a 7.23 rating playing primarily up front. While the explosive striker's domestic form has been impressive, little can compare to his international form for Belgium. In 29 caps for his country he has netted an astonishing 39 goals, making him his countries all-time top goalscorer at just 24 and helping his side win all 3 of their Euro 2016 qualifying games so far. Determined to help his club improve their position, Loic looks to have a bright future ahead whatever the circumstances.

Tom van der Fish- Loaned out from the Chelsea reserves to Newcastle, this season has seen a disappointing lack of first team football for the flamboyant striker. Starting just 6 games for the Toon, Tom has impressed with a retrun of 3 goals and a 7.17 rating. While pleased to be at a successful club like Chelsea, it will not be surprising to see Tom looking for a transfer unless promised more first team football. van der Fish has now won 16 caps for Northern Ireland, scoring 3 goals.

Arthur White- Now in his 7th season at Newcastle, White has continued in typically impressive from. As his side sit in 8th place, White has netted 11 times in his 20 starts with a 7.29 rating. And the model professional who is publicly known to enjoy playing for the club has earned a place in the fan's hearts, becoming a fan favourite alongside Beardley and Keegan. Drawing obvious paralells with Alan Shearer. Internationally, White has 15 caps with 10 goals.

Ben Whitehead- Despite an underachieving Roma side sitting in 7th place in Serie A, Whitehead's third season in Italy sees him in impressive form. Making 30 starts so far this season, the Iron willed winger has netted 6 goals with 7 assists, 3 MoM awards and a 7.23 rating playing primarily on the left wing. Usually chosen on the right wing for the England international squad, Whitehead has now won 28 caps, scoring 9 goals.

End of season update 2014/2015

Adaminho- Adaminho has been an integral part of Portsmouth's campaign this season. Forming a potent strikeforce up front with Jermaine Defoe, they helped their side to finish in 6th place in the Premiership. In his 25 appearances for Pompey the English international striker netted 14 goals with 3 MoM awards and 7.36 rating. Especially impressive form as a torn calf muscle ruled him out for three months. Unfortunately, the side could do no better than gain qualification for the Euro Vase, despite early season hopes of more. Adaminho has won a total of 6 caps for England, with 1 goal in those games.

Jose Manuel Arevalo- In his first season back in France following his move from Toulouse to Espanyol, Arevalo has had a solid debut season for Paris Saint-Germain. As the side won the French league, beating out rivals Marseille by a single point, Jose was a key part of the first team squad. Making 45 starts, the centre-back scored 2, with 3 assists and 6 MoM awards and a respectable 7.07 rating. Form which saw him named in the Ligue 1 team of the season, and team of the competition. Despite being happy at the club following a successful debut season, the Andorran international has drawn interest from two clubs in particular, Arsenal and Roma. The Andorran has now won 59 caps for his country as they sit bottom of the Euro qualification group without a single point, or goal.

Mike Bird- This season Bird has spent the campaign trying to muscle in on the Inter Milan strike partnership of Tevez and Balotelli. And he has made decent impact in first team action, with 20 appearances in total and a respectable 8 goals and a 7.15 rating despite not being given a regular run of matches. Inter finished in 6th in Serie A, but managed to win the UEFA Cup, beating Real Madrid 1-0 in the final. Although impressing when given a chance, the towering striker has been disappointed with a lack of first team opportunities and has asked to be transfer listed. But as of yet, no clubs have made an approach, although it can only be a matter of time.

Bobinho- While Arsenal have been experiencing sporadic form of late, Bobinho has an an excellent season. While the club could only finish 7th in the Premiership, Bobinho has contributed 12 goals and 4 assists in his 24 starts, with a 7.38 rating. Form which made him Arsenal's highest rated player this season. While the club underachieves, Bobinho is happy to help them regain their place as one of England's top four clubs. The Welsh striker has also won his 27th cap for his country, scoring 10 goals.

Peter Brown- As Sunderland won the Premier league, two points clear of rivals Manchester United, Brown was a key part of their success. Making 41 starts this campaign he bagged 21 goals with a 7.34 rating. Form which saw him become the Premier league's top scorer and named in the English players' Premier division select side. His partnership with fellow conference wonderkid Fredino was particularly impressive, with the to bagging 40 goals between them, both aided considerably by the phenomenal Asamoah Gyan. They will be hoping for more of the same in the next campaign. Brown has won 11 caps for England with a 7 goal return for his country who sit in second on goal difference behind Serbia.

Adam Clatworthy- After being named World footballer of the year for 2014 and experiencing a typically excellent run of form, Adam was unfortunate to break his ankle in a Champions league game against Sevilla in April and missed the remainder of the season. And watched on helplessly as the side slumped to 10th in the Premiership. Before his injury he still managed to make 37 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 18 goals with 3 assists, 5 MoM awards and an excellent 7.49 rating. Form which saw him named as runner up for the English players' player of the year award, included in the Premier division select XI and also named as the Chelsea supporters' player of the year for the third year in a row. Adam has also won 38 caps for Northern Ireland, scoring 21 goals.

Alfonso de silva Santos- As Roma have been notable by their inconsistency in recent years, this season has been no exception. Despite winning Serie A last year and being tipped to repeat the feat this year, they had to settle for 9th place in this campaign. In contrast, Alfonso continued on last season’s form with some magnificent performances. Given 40 starts, the World-class striker scored 17 goals with 3 assists, 4 MoM awards and a 7.32 rating. This earned him the title of Serie A Foreign player of the year and a spot in the Serie A team of the year. With the striker currently considering his options, Roma may struggle to hold on to one of few consistent performers at the club. Alfonso has now won 63 caps for Andorra, but hasn’t added to his 7 international goals.

Robert Dillon- AC Milan found themselves unfortunate to finish 4th in Serie A, equal on 67 points with the two clubs above them and with a superior goal difference, they found themselves losing out due to their inferior results against 2nd placed Atalanta and 3rd placed Juventus. They were also unfortunate to miss out on success in the Champions league as they lost 1-0 to Barcelona in the final. Dillon was an integral part of Milan’s side, and was in typically good form. Making 46 starts for the side, with 26 on the left wing and 20 as a striker, Robert netted 15 goals with 8 assists and 4 MoM awards and a 7.39 rating. This form earned him third place in the Foreign player of the year awards, but more importantly he earned the Champions league best player award and was named in a Champions league dream team dominated by Barca. Internationally Dillon has now won 16 caps for Montenegro, scoring 3 times.

Fredino- As Sunderland stormed ahead of Manchester United to claim the remiership crown, Fredino has been in excellent from. Forming a formidable strike partnership with fellow conference wonderkid Peter Brown and feeding off the brilliant form of winger Asamoah Gyan, Fredino bagged 19 goals in his 33 starts with a 7.30 rating. Obviously delighted with the success this year, Fredino will hope to carry it through to next season, particularly in a footballing climate where champions can fall to mid-table mediocrity in the space of a year. Fredino has won 37 caps for Wales, scoring 13.

Frketson- In a highly competitive season for Barcelona which saw them finish second to Sevilla in the Spanish league and then win the Champions league beating AC Milan 1-0 in the final, Frketson was integral in their success. Making a massive 49 starts for the club, the world-class centre-back contributed 2 goals, 3 assists and 6 MoM awards, a 6.72 tackle rate and an 80% pass rate with a 7.31 rating, Frketson was a colossus in what is arguable Europe’s best defensive line-up. And he earned a place in the Spanish first division team of the season, as well as a place in the Champions league team of the season. He has now won 63 caps for his native Croatia scoring 1 goal as the country sit comfortably top of their Euro 2016 qualification group.

Pablo Gonzalez- Cagliari have spent much of this season struggling against relegation, a struggle which the finally won by finishing in 16th place in Serie A. And Gonzalez played his part in helping his side avoid the drop, making 39 starts the determined striker scored 10 goals with a 6.90 rating. But Pablo’s discontent with his club’s form has led to him demanding a transfer, and with £10 million bids coming in from Bolton and Newcastle, and with a number of other clubs interested including Premiership champions Sunderland, it will not be surprising to see Gonzalez strutting his stuff for another club soon.

Haowan- After an excellent debut season for Napoli, Haowan has improved even further in this year’s campaign. Making 39 starts, the Spaniard netted an impressive return of 22 goals, winning 5 MoM awards and a 7.46 rating to claim the title of Serie A top goalscorer. Haowan has flourished under manager Fabio Cannavaro and his form has been crucial in the side reaching 8th place in Serie A. While no move has yet been made for the striker, it would be surprising if the summer passed without an offer for Serie A’s most prolific marksman.

Juan King- In his fifth season in France with Marseille, King has continued to prove excellent value for the £11.5 million transfer fee. Making 53 starts this season, Juan netted an excellent 27 goals, winning 3 MoM awards with a 7.49 rating. This form helped his side finish second in the French league, 1 point behind rivals Paris Saint-Germain. King was subsequently named runner up for the Foreign player of the year award, and included in the league team of the season. He also scored what was named as the goal of the season with his screamer from the edge of the area against Stade Rennais and was named as the Marseille fans’ player of the year. As a fan favourite, and in return rating Marseille as one of his favourite clubs, it looks unlikely that King will leave the club where he has performed so brilliantly.

Quincy Klapatross- As Arsenal finished in a disappointing 7th place in the Premier league, Quincy experienced a season of solid form. The striker, rated by many as world-class, made 26 appearances for the London side, scoring 7 with assists and 2 MoM awards with a 7.08 rating. A personal improvement on last season, but he will still want more from himself. But that may come in the shape of a new club, as Newcastle, Lyon, Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be in the running for the Dutchman’s signature. For his country, Quincy has won 21 caps, scoring 10 goals as Holland sit comfortable on top of their Euro qualification group.

Callum McCarthy- While Inter Milan may have underachieved in Serie A with their 6th place finish, their success in the UEFA Cup over Real Madrid would be enough to satisfy the fans. And nobody had a bigger role to play than fan favourite Callum McCarthy. Making a total of 49 starts, McCarthy netted 8 goals, contributing 12 assists, a 82% pass rate and winning 7 MoM awards with a 7.37 rating. Playing mostly on the left wing, Callum was simply magnificent and his league form earned him the title of Serie A player of the year ahead of challengers Cavani and Messi. Attracting interest from Lyon, Roma, Deportivo, Barcelona and Spainsh champions Sevilla, Callum may be reluctant to leave the club that he loves. For England McCarthy now has 47 caps to his name, with 6 goals as his country look set to fight Serbia all the way for top spot in their group.

Brendan Petersen- Despite relegation with Celta last season, Petersen has stayed put to enjoy a season of solid form. Making 39 starts the Aussie keeper conceded 36 goals, keeping 12 clean sheets with a 7.00 rating. Form which helped his side finish third in the Spanish second tier and win promotion back to the top flight and saw him rated in third place in the division’s goalkeeper of the year awards. Regardless of their success, Brendan still feels he should be at a bigger club and has requested a transfer, and the most likely candidates for his signature so far are French champions Paris Saint-Germain, which could be an excellent move judging by the conference wonderkids who have done well in France. Petersen has 10 caps for Australia.

Loic Philippens- As Manchester united had to settle for second place behind a rising Sunderland side, the club would have taken some comfort from the form of centre-forward Philippens. Switching between playing as a striker and central midfielder, Loic made 37 appearances for United, scoring 15 with 2 assists, 2 MoM awards and a 7.14 rating. Form which has been enough to attract interest from Serie A side Juventus, although they have yet to make an offer for the explosive forward. For Belgium, Loic has continued his astonishing form, now totalling 41 goals from just 33 caps to help Belgium top their Euro qualification group ahead of Ukraine and Czech Republic.

Tom van der Fish- This season would have been disappointing for van der Fish. Loaned out from Chelsea to Newcastle the striker struggled to make a name for himself as a first team regular as the side finished 4th in the Premiership. But when he was given the chance, Tom performed. Making 10 starts the flamboyant striker bagged an excellent 8 goals with a 7.40 rating. Now back in London, Tom will be hoping to be given a chance to prove himself alongside Clatworthy next season. Tom now has 21 caps for Northern Ireland, with 3 goals.

Arthur White- Now in his 7th season at St James’ park White has become a much loved member of the Newcastle squad. And this is in no doubt due to his astonishing consistency. This season he has made 30 starts, netting 12 with a 7.23 rating despite some niggling injuries. While it was his lowest rating since joining the club, it is only relative to his astonishing form which sees him with a 7.30 rating in 190 Premiership games. With little hint of a move, it looks to be ‘as you were’ for White and Newcastle. For England Arthur now has 15 caps, with 10 goals.

Ben Whitehead- As Roma failed to defend their Serie A title, slumping to 9th place in the Italian league, Whitehead was one of few positives to come out of this season. Making 48 startson the left wing for the Italian giants, the explosive winger contributed 10 goals and 7 assists with 4 MoM awards and a 7.17 rating. This form earned 23 year-old Whitehead the award of Serie A young player of the year for the third season in succession. Internationally Ben has won 31 caps for England, scoring 13 goals playing primarily on the right wing.

Yeah, you guys have a pretty goot setup there. Gyan is awesome, never seen him perform like this on another save. I suppose the top class strikers up front help, but at one point I checked the average ratings (to see how well Clatworthy was doing! icon_wink.gif ) and Gyan was over 8, and this was over half way through the season. His Premiership rating was 7.72 in the end, with 20 assists and 10 MoM awards in 32 starts. Not too shabby!

Early season update 2015/16

Adaminho- Despite interest from Bolton, Man CIty and Athletico Madrid, Adaminho has stayed put at Portsmouth. While his side have struggled early on, sitting second from bottom in the Premiership, the England striker has been in brilliant form scoring 6 in 7 starts with a 7.57 rating.

Jose Manuel Arevalo- Despite Juventus showing an interest, Jose has stayed in Paris after last season's success. And he has made a good start to the season with a goal and a 7.14 rating in his 7 starts for his 2nd placed side.

Mike Bird- Although Bird still wishes to leave Inter, he remains at the club amidst a flurry of interest from Portsmouth, Sunderland, Roma, Juventus and Real Madrid. But the signs are good with Mike starting their only league game so far with a 7 rating.

Bobinho- Hoping to continue on last season's good form, Bobinho has made a good start for Arsenal. Starting 2 matches so far he has scored 1 with a 7.00 rating with the Gunners sitting in 5th.

Peter Brown- Continuing from last season's success, Brown has been in excellent form early on. In 6 starts he has netted 4 times with a 7.33 rating. But SUnderland have struggled to match last years performances, sitting in 8th.

Adam Clatworthy- Adam is still struggling for fitness following his broken ankle, making just 2 starts with a 6.50 rating for 7th placed Chelsea. It can only be a matter of time before the reigning World footballer of the year shows his class.

Alfonso de silva Santos- Little change for Alfonso, staying at ROma he started their only league game so far, getting a 7 rating.

Robert Dillon- Dillon has made a typically impressive start for AC Milan. Making 2 starts on the left wing h has netted 2 goals and 1 assist with a 7.00 rating as his side take the provisional top spot in Serie A.

Fredino- Remaining at English champions Sunderland, Fredino has made a solid start with 1 goal and a 7.00 rating from his 4 starts. SUnderland will hope to improve on their 8th place soon to defend their title.

Frketson- The World-class centre-back will hope to help his club go one better than last year and claim the Spanish league title. It has been a good start with a 3-1 win over Athletic Bilbao, where the Croatian got a 7 rating.

Pablo Gonzalez- Last season Gonzalez fought relegation with Serie A side Cagliari. Clearly spotting some potential, Real Madrid placed an £11.75 bid which was too good for the Italian club to refuse. Making the move to the Bernabeu, Gonzalez only had time to make one friendly appearance, where he scored on his debut. Handed the number 9 shirt, Pablo looks to be manager Henk ten Cate's man to replace the ageing stikers Robinho, Pandev and Briand. But he may have to wait for his chance.

Haowan- Remaining at Napoli following an excellent personal performance last season which saw him eventually named the supporters' player of the season, Haowan has continued where he left off. In his 3 starts he has netted 3 goals with a 7.67 rating under his favourite manager Cannavaro. Happy at the club, Haowan looks set for another excellent season.

Juan King- Starting his 6th season at his beloved Marseille, King has shown why the fans adore him with his early season form. Picking up where he left off King has netted 4 goals in 6 starts with a 7.50 rating as the French side hope to improve on their 7th position.

Quincy Klapatross- Quincy has stayed with underachieving Arsenal despite recieving transfer interest from Napoli and Levante. And he has made a good start, scoring twice in his 2 starts with a 7.50 rating to help the Gunners to 5th in the Premier league.

Callum McCarthy- Despite interest from many of the world's top clubs including Liverpool, Roma, Real Madrid and Sevilla, McCarthy has remained for his sixth season with Inter Milan to the delight of the fans. With a 7 rating in their opening match, Callum will hope to help the club step up and challenge for the Serie A title this season.

Brendan Petersen- Experiencing relegation, then promotion in his two seasons with Celta, Petersen struggled to settle at the Spanish club. But the ambitious keeper may have found a club he can settle at with a £5.75 million move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain. Joining fellow conference wonderkid Arevalo in Paris, Petersen will hope to make the step up like the many other players who have done well in France. Having just recently completed his move, Petersen has yet to make an appearance, but he looks set to replace Rene Adler between the sticks at some stage this season.

Loic Philippens- Loic was unfortunate to pick up a shin injury which ruled him out of Manchester United's opening Premier league games. But as the side struggle in 14th place, manager ROy Keane will hope to get him back in first team action as soon as possible.

Tom van der Fish- Following last season's frustration on loan to Newcastle, Tom has been given an opportunity early in the Premiership campaign with Chelsea. As Clatworthy struggles for fitness and manager Mauro Tassotti switches to three up front, van der Fish has made 4 starts and scored 2 with a 7.00 rating. Publicly stating that he feels he works well with Clatworthy, a formidable strike partnership could be on the cards.

Arthur White- Now starting his 8th season with Newcastle, fan favourite White has made an excellent start. Making 2 starts he has bagged 4 goals with an 8.00 rating for his side who sit 2nd in the Premiership. With a strong squad, Toon fans will hope they can start to build a side that can reclaim the Premiership title they won 5 years ago.

Ben Whitehead- Now in his fourth season with Roma, Whitehead has made a good start by scoring in the season opener with a 7 rating. Ben will hope to help Roma improve on their league form which has suffered since winning Serie A three seasons ago.
