rick_chelsea
As the title says. I've never seen it personally, and as FM is realistic I wondered if anyone else had seen it happen

trekman
I dont it happens to real life players in the game due to the potential legal problems that it would cause. I don't see any reason why it cant happen to regens though.
DP
One of these 'features' that disappeared. Like agents sending you videos of players.
rick_chelsea
One of these 'features' that disappeared.Like agents sending you videos of players. Brian Shanahan
I think it is a case of the legal system in UK cutting out the possibility of real life players retiring due to injury in-game. Any time I've seen a thread like this SI usually pop up to say "legal advice told us not to" or words to that effect. The videos I got were always African midfielders scoring hat-tricks in the French National (3rd tier) and then never doing anythng again.
Unknown Hacker
It was definitely possible on FM08, not sure about 09 or 10 though.

lfc5sb
pathetic if thats the case, is any player going to get annoyed if they retire on a bloody game?
Unknown Hacker
pathetic if thats the case, is any player going to get annoyed if they retire on a bloody game? I don't think that is the case, I guess it is just rarer than it used to be because of much better quality physios and specialists maybe.

rougess
On a save in FM09, Rene Adler had just come back from a 13 MONTH VIRUS! Only to retire immediately after, citing his "constant injury woes". The shame was he'd just got English nationality before the virus...
Some Guy!
How did I forget Dukes retiring. He retired after he broke his leg! He's now manager of the central coast mariners.
aw083
I think that if a player has had enough injuries woes IRL then the game should reflect that he may choose to retire, regardless of legal concerns. Just look at John Kennedy at Celtic, who has just retired due to his injury problems. He's almost constantly been injured at the start of FM games for a while now, making him a likely candidate for the 'retired due to injuries' feature. Of course now, in the data update he'll just be removed from the database altogether.
