Season 19/20 well all in all my first season in he championship has been largely a dissapointment managed to barely scrap through above the relegation zone on goal differnce alone. According to my Ass man 90% of my squad is not good enough to play at this level, but due to 2 consecutive stadium size increases and now a new stadium i now have an 11mill loan debt meaning i am a little strapped for cash making the signing of new players a bit tough. Looks like i am going to have to sell a few players, unfortuantly the only ones that are going to give me any decent amount of cash are the few who are good enough to play in this league. I think me second season is likely to be as tough as the first. shaggy61 Posted November 12, 2007 Share Posted November 12, 2007 heybridge swifts 2015-16 BSP (sorry no pics-work) An improvement from 19th to 13th and a trophy in the cabinet in the much maligned Setanta Shield show that steps are being made in the right direction. The turning point in the season around christmas came about from a shift from direct 442 to a cultured short passing 4321 formation, it allowed my exellent dribbling striker space on the right flank to destroy oppositions, however his market value seems to be falling as a result of being played out of position. Next season for the first time we have a squad capable of challenging, and likes of Luton or Whitby wont be able to dominate as in previous seasons. I think i brought him in on loan as a result of seeing your post. As Hines and Knights are so prolifice at the moment, Sinclair is one of my two substitute strikers. The link with Rushden was cancelled and now I have Watford as parent club. I loaned two great players from them and a striker from Leicester. Signed a couple of other players for free. Still 0K to spend. With the time I have built I think that i can avoid being relegated but need more quality players to mount a promotion. Hope to have a little luck and do well this season. Finished the league in 2nd place, but went down to Dagenham & Redbridge in the playoff finals. Made the final of the FA Trophy, but lost on penalties, and reached the Quarter Finals of the Sentanta Shield. Spurs1979 Posted November 12, 2007 Share Posted November 12, 2007 Can't believe this, going to have to restart as my Hendon game got lost in a mixup with files being deleted, the latest save I have is from when I was in league one but I really can't go back to that seeing so much had changed since then. Might just wait for the patch & then do it as it doesn't seem too long away now, Gutted (was totally my fault as well, hence the annoyance with myself, should learn to leave things be but I'm a tidy freak, I hate having files I don't need on my pc taking up space ) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

smithers08 Posted November 12, 2007 Share Posted November 12, 2007 jus finished my 3rd season as afc wimbledon . finshed 8th with 66 points was quite dissapointed as i wanted promotion. bringing in a lot of players in on trail as i prepare for my fourth season in the blue sqaure south , with michael bridges being the biggest name , hopefully hell add 10/15 goal a season to my team .lost a rock at the back in the shape of alan stubbs. plus i have just been offerd a new 2 year contract , which will see me to the end of the 12/13 season so far season 08/09: played 42 won 22 drew 7 lost 13 points 73 - 4th (lost in play off semi finals 2-1(agg)) season 09/10: played 42 won 17 drew 8 lost 17 points 59 - 8th season 10/11: played 42 won 18 drew 12 lost 12 points 66 - 8th Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'll be back though, guess the upside is I still have the tactics I used throughout the leagues so can use that as a base for the new start. Finishing with a record point tally (for the team) of 102 the Puritans are heading up to League 2. Banbury have over the summer released or sold 80% of their squad and after collecting a great 4-4 draw in a friendly with Olympique de Marseille it should be an intresting season ahead! Squad Looking pretty good now, my keeper even grabbed the 2nd goal of his career this season. Transfers A few more added since the last update, including a great CM from Standard, plus a few 16 year old Italians for my youth set up. We finished in 8th in the Blue Square South with 61 points. League Table As the season drew on, we gelled as a team, producing better performances and results, in reality I feel we could have reached the playoffs but for a poor start and bad run of form toward the end of the season. The cups were a disaster: FA Cup - 3rd qualifying round : AFC Hornchurch 6 - 1 Hitchin FA Trophy - 1st Round: Stafford 1 - 0 Hitchin Setanta Shield - 1st Round : Hitchin 1 - 1(p) Thurrock My top scorer was James Clifford who did well, despite slightly unimpressive stats. My best player was,unfortunately, on loan from West Ham - Tony Stokes, although I was pleased he was my only loan player who I relied on. My parent club is MK Dons, who didn't really send anyone of great use. For next season I hope to sign a couple of new defenders, midfielders and another striker. Selling my only fit left back and 1st choice right back in the January window knowing they were not good enough for League 2 and also out of contract almost backfired, but we made it. League Table My best players this season are limited to one individual - Andy Caton. He has basically score me the goals to get us into the Football League. Other notable players who have been with me since the beginning include Steven Arnold and Alex Campana. New additions to the squad at the start of the season were Jason Marsden, Derek Wilkinson (both from Charlton - my feeder club) and Aaron Morgan. Special notice must be made to Michael Noone who makes me chuckle every time he gets a text mention. (Noone passes, Noone scores etc) My Finances are looking well and having just received the league 2 TV money I should achieve a mini goal of having a million in the bank. Finally, my profilesadly shows a low stat for Club/Player Loyalty (anyone give me a possible reason why?) My club have just turned professional so I imagine I will have to renew all the contracts of those I wish to stay. I think I might try and keep Andy Caton as long as I can - he has certainly deserved my loyalty. As a footnote (Jonny Harkness) my talisman free kick taker has missed most of last season with cruciate ligament problems. He has a month before he is ready to return and hopefully he can step up to league 2 football. My board only expect me to avoid relegation - I'll be happy with that. Caton is drawing attention, as usual, and i get a lot of media questions... there is no right answer to these questions! no matter what i say, his morale is 'very poor'. he's worried he wont live up to everybody's expectations or he feels undervalued. he's unhappy that his future may not lie with the club, if i suggest he's too good to keep, but if i say i'll hang onto him, he says he's worried he wont be able to leave to fulfil his ambitions... i swear, if he wasn't the only good player i have, and the only reason i've not been sacked yet, i'd sell him... Simo05 Posted November 12, 2007 Share Posted November 12, 2007 Halesowen update second season After finishing a good 9th last season i decided to get rid of most of my players as i was taking on too much debt so all the fringe players who i didnt need went on a free transfer this cost quite a bit to get rid of them bit i think in the long run it will smallen the large debt of 200k i have. I have just played my first 12 games tonight and i am doing suprisngly well Adam Le Fondre is a goal machine and banging them in my defence is not the best but i guess when you have goalscorers you can actually do well in this league i am very pleased with the way things are going at the moment hopefully i can get a first place finish or at least a playoff spot. Halesowen BSN 08/09 Started off the season with 50 players in the squad, but soon realised there were of a very poor quality, i got rid of 20 before the first league game. My top 2 strikers got injured for 2 months each in august and i kept getting hammered by 4 or 5 goals, by mid-sep i was in the bottom 3. Luckily i found this player who changed things considerably Islander I had also put my right winger up front to cover the loss of my strikers and he never stopped scoring all year Paul When my main striker who i found rated at league 1/2 standard came back the results really improved and i shot up the table before a late stumble cost me a playoff place . Hudson Table09 Got to the first round of the fa cup and fell at the first hurdle in fa trophy and SS. Halesowen BSN 09/10 Found a couple of players to pad out the squad inc myles weston who was superb at providing the chances for my strikers. I found this player Greaves Paul and Hudson also scored 20+ goals in the season as i was always near the top and won with 3 games to go. Table 10 My performance in the cups was poor, lost in 4th qual of the fa cup and in the first matches i played in the fa trophy and SS. Due to this and paying out 130K for winning the league i ended the year 250K in debt. The finance bar was at zero with the board distraught! In fact i got the feeling i only kept my job as i was 3K under my wage budget which they then cut for the next season. Due to a run of bad form at the moment, we missed out on auto promotion, so I am not too hopeful for the playoffs. My aim for the next season regardless of which division I am in, is to seriously rebuilt half the squad. I have too much dead weight at the moment, and need some better skilled players. Got promoted in my second season to the BSP but relegated back down straight away (one win away from staying up ) due to the complete lack of any players coming to me that were better than what I already had. Although, according to friendly results , whether this works at all seems rather unlikely.
