i have zavon hines in my billericay squad he had 2 loan spells with and now i have signed long term and he has a great scoring record for us scoring 116 goals in a 117 appearences hines history what a striker at non league level

Just had another bid come in for youngster Neil Reid from Bury, £500k + 10%. He's another who did well last year but at 19 years of age I felt wasn't ready for this season, hence me signing Tony Hibbert on a free transfer. I was hoping he'd progress for next season but right now financially I can't afford to be turning down bids like this just yet.

My scouts say he'd be a good championship player so I hope they're right & he doesnt go onto the premiership & embarass me!

His value was only £90k, had 2 years left & was unhappy at not playing so for £500k + 10% I think it's a good deal.

No doubt the fact he is 19, and you have a 10% deal on him will come back to surprise you in 4 years or so. Lets just hope Bury don't go far, but Neil Reid gets a few more k's added to his value. Surely with that kind of money you can work the transfer market and get some more fresh talent or experience whilst pocketing some cash? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I just have to try & counter the debt I will find myself in. £550k pw whilst playing in a 1900 stadium with these wages isnt going to be easy. I've tried to keep them at a minimum but nothing I do will stop be losing at least £6m-£7m this season I think. I want avoid going too much & being docked points. Next year in my new stadium I can support the repayments & wages comfortably I feel.

Okay, ignore that post of mine, I didn't realize an almost identical question was answered a few posts above (I had to reply as soon as I saw the awesome logo, I was too excited by it icon_biggrin.gif).

Also, now that I know the story of Super Kyle, I am truely touched. How you managed to stumble upon the young talent, and make such an affinity with him is amazing. Let alone the fact that you propelled him into stardom. I'm hoping I can do that with my young striker, 'Tom Clarke', although he is English, so I doubt he will get much international success. Time to scout the foreigners I think! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Tom Clarke is also playing well for my Ilkeston team. He desparately needs some quality team mates though...

Aario - Halesowen - End of Seaon 1 (08-09) Update - Promoted from BSN!!

Have been posting on a bit the last few days but have not had much time to actually play the game. I seem to play much slower than others anyway - watching all games in extended at least and often switching to full for the odd 20mins if not the whole game

Anyway - as has been mentioned many times before Halesowen start with a complete squad and an Ass Man and Coach. However, I felt that some improvements could be made. The board wanted me to just stay in the division but I told them I could finish mid table to get an increased wage allowance. I started getting all the existing players and staff on full time contracts, set up my own traning schedules and my own tactics. I was able to recurit a keepers coach and fitness coach (both on full time contracts), got Dean Holdsworth as a player coach and a rubbish left back as a player youth coach. Neither of these guys got anywhere near the first team and were only signed as I couldn't get specilist coaches with better attributes.

Here is my first team squad at the end of the season. Platt, O'Garro, Denny, Paul and Brown were all original Halesowen players - the rest I signed (obviously!). The original left back Haywood also played quite reasonably for most of the first half of the season but he was in the reserves when this screen shot was taken. I also signed a whole raft of other players who were complete dross icon_biggrin.gif and are in the reserves or were actually released again as near the end of the season I realised a few players I had been scouting who were out of contract woupld probably retire over the summer if I didn't get them signed up now so I had to release most of my reserves that were only one year contracts to free up some more wage allowance (as I was well over getting verybody on full time contracts!). Yout will see Caines, Murray and Goodfellow have few games as they were only very recently signed. I was also in for a few others but as I suspected they chose to retire rather than join my so am happy to have got the 3 I did icon_smile.gif. McGarth was a loan from my parent club Kidderminster but as you can see he hardly played - the only players they wanted to send were kids with no attributes over about 7 so I told each of them to do one!

So on to the season itself - the biggest surprise was my desperation signing of James Taylor to be back up to my target man Matty McNeil. However, for the first half of the season he was on fire and McNeil couldn't get a game. Just when his form dipped (as his age and stats suggested it should McNeil got injured. Luckliy for me Kidderminster had just released Christie (who they had refused to loan me before!) and he jumped at the chance to join us and carried on from Taylor left off leaving poor McNeil on the bench for the second half of the season as well. My player of the year was Torpey - 15 goals (probably about half from free kicks) from left wing is a great return and there were plenty of assists as well.

Last time I posted about my progress I was in second and long time (runway) leaders Boston were starting to bottle it. However, as the run in got serious we bottled it and although were assured of the play offs with about 3 games to go Boston were crowned champions before the last week of the season. Defeat to playoff rivals Tamworth in our last game meant we slipped down to 3rd. Table Graph

So on to the playoffs - moral was low after our poor form towards the end of the season and sure enough we soon found ourselves 0-1 down to in form Witton. However, they had scored with their first real attack (in truth it was a poor game) and we were creating more chances due to the fact that their cetre half and captain was slower than continental drift. Our low confidence meant we missed them all though. At half time I decided to throw on McNeil for Christie as his pace and acceleration was a couple of marks better. Not much happened till the hour when the game went crazy - first another chance created by their slow defender was finally finished by us. Then McNeils pace took him clear twice in quick succuesion and he finished both to put us 3-1 ahead. The drama hadn't finished though as the ref decided he wanted to be in the spot light and sent off both my central midfielders leaving us to play the last 10 minutes with 9 men icon_frown.gif. We let one in make it 3-2 but somehow made a series of vital last ditch tackles and interceptions to hold on. The stats indicate we were good value for the win but in truth due to our poor form and moral they were in charge for most of the first and obviously the last 10 minutes - if they hadn't been so shot shy and tried to walk the ball in it could and maybe should have been very different.....

Some good media comments from me before the next game coupled with the good result seemed to pick the squad up and things were looking much better going into the second leg. We dominated from the off (I always play an attacking style and wanted to win rather than play for the draw). We took the lead just before the break and everything seemed comfortable. However, (didn't you just know that was coming!) just after the half hour we had another man sent off and immediately after they scored. Cue 8 men behind the ball, one upfront on his own, extreme long ball and counter attack. Despite loads od pressure we held out (their best stricker getting injured probably helped a lot here icon_biggrin.gif) and then in injury time as they put everyone forward we jumped on a misplaced pass, got a lucky bounce of the ball and fired in a 35 yard winner. Match overview Stats

As we celebrated in the changing rooms news flitered through that Southport had done the unthinkable and come from behind to beat our boggie team Tamworth in the other semi. Not only this but my scouts then came back with the man who had single handedly got Southport into the playoffs and then past Tamworth had been injured in the final minutes and would miss the final icon_biggrin.gif

Moral was now sky high and we totally dominated the first half going in 1-0 up thanks to an early trademark Torpy freekick. My half time team talk was not my finest hour though and the second half was different story and after missing 2 chances the injured Craddock would have surely scored they did put one away to force extra time. Cue some harsh words from me and an improvement leading to a goal just before the break. Nerves were further eased by a second yellow to their right midfielder and the final whistle soon sounded. Match Overview Stats

Goals for next season.... I think defensively and midfield we have enough quality to be safely mid table in the BSP but I really need to find some better options up front. Better performances in all the cups would be nice as well - loosing 0-3 to non playable (and loacl rivals) Gloucester was the low point of the season and is still our record defeat.

My captain McAugtrie has me in his favourite personal which is nice. My profile has also changed to indicate my attacking style and over spending on the wages!!

Hope this hasn't been too boring for anyone who has bothered to read this far icon_wink.gif

To be honest my 3rd season in the blue square south was very very easy(see screenshot a few hours ago) and I feel a bit guilty. The reason for this is I relied heavily on loan signings from West Ham and I just don't feel its all that realistic. Therefore i have taken the decision to terminate the link icon_frown.gif

Proof.

So i will start conferance life with no parent club. It will probably end in relegation but I feel it would mean much more now if(when) i make it all the way to the champions league.

Witton Albion - Season One (08/09)

This is basically a quater/half-season update. After starting with Witton Albion and getting a decent backroom staff and team , I was optimistic for the season ahead; this was re-enforced by our huge fan base.

The season hasn't started as well as I'd hoped. We seem to be the draw specialists, and 0 - 0 draws at that. But, we're on a bit of a winning run at the moment, and after playing Vauxhall three times in a row in three different competitions and losing to my feeder club in the cup, we seem to be picking up again.

My best players are the loanees from my parent club, Crewe (which the teram had before I took over), and Byron Moore seems to be my best player, banging in the goals (albeit not many) from either wing.

Merthyr Tydfil - Blue Square South - October 2009

11 games into the second season, and we've definetely improved from the end of last season. My biggest problem last season was poor goalkeeping, so my first new signing was Richard O'Donnell, who has been excellent so far. Another big signing was Adriano Rigoglioso who hasn't really reached full fitness, but has been very impressive at times. Conor Clifford on loan from parent club Cardiff, has also looked very exciting, despite playing only a few games. Other signings - Alex Tapp and Ian Snodin

Results on the whole have been excellent so far, and although I told my board I'd finish my table, hopefully I'll finish in the play-offs or maybe even win the title. icon_biggrin.gif Finances are also on their way back up, so its all going well at the moment!

Hendon - Coca Cola Championship - 2014/2015

I am so pleased with my start as it has given me hope I can avoid relegation & build my finances back up next year into a comfortable position again. We started with a close defeat to Norwich which was quite hard to take as we really should have got a draw from it at least but it assured me my new 451 tactic was going to give my team the best chance of playing a solid style of play & not cave into teams too easy.

Since then we've beat Crystal Palace at home whilst getting an impressive 2-1 win against Coventry away from home, along with that we'd chalked up draws against Millwall, West Brom, Wigan & recently Blackburn Rovers at ewood park! The defeats we have recieved come from Norwich, Wolves & Bolton but all 3 were close games that could have gone either way.

In the league cup we beat Grays Athletic 3-1 in the 1st round, then a tough home leg saw us face Wolves where we were able to win 1-0 to set up a game against Premiership side Nottingham Forest. The game was close but quality really shone through as they managed to get 4 goals from there 12 shots whilst we were wastefull & only got 1 in return of 13 attempts. I'm not too gutted about that defeat as we really did play quite well & the players should be proud of themselves even though the 4-1 defeat looks really bad the performance was brilliant.

So there we go, I've managed to play the very tight style of football I wanted & appear extremely difficult to beat, mainly due to only conceeding 8 goals in 9 league games this season. If my midfield & strikers can get used to the style I may start to score a few more but I have high hopes I can avoid relegation this season, if I can do that then I can really start to plan on improving my playing squad next year.

Yeah I saw that mate, I've been really tight & have sold a few players this summer & made around £1.7m from that to help out with the finances. I believe I'll be close to £6m-£7m of debt perhaps, now if I can stay in the championship I know I can afford the 550k in a new stadium with increased attendances. The killer for me was the decision to play this season in a stadium with only 1900 capacity, if we shared with QPR again I feel I wouldn't get in this mess.

I have however made a save before it was announced & after because immediately seeing the payments I was worried I'd be totally messed up so saved it as a new file.

Zutcorp Gateshead - end of season

The good

PROMOTION - we are now in league 2, after winning yet another thriller of a playoff final. Stuff of legends.

The bad

Still too dominated by loanees (thanks sunderland)

the ugly

I was 6 points ahead at 1st with 5 matches to go. Then I appearently decided theres bemore money in playing some playoff matches and promptly lost 10 points in the next 4 matches. Horrible.

and in the 5th game I lost in the Setanta final.

Dreadful.

Thankfully we won the last league game, and regained enough morale to pull thorugh the playoffs.

Time to prepare for league 2!

So as manager of Halesowen I had Kidderminster as a parent club but wanted to cancel as the only players they sent were worse than my first teamers. After winning promotion the link was automatically canceled due to us being in the same division icon_smile.gif. Immediately my board let me know they have reache an agreement with Port Vale to be my new parent club! They also want to send 2 players icon_cool.gif shame they are both keepers icon_frown.gif and while good players neither is better than my first choice. Still if I am not paying them then I am going to take both as they are both good enough to play and we all know how the game loves to injure a keeper when you least need it

Mexican manager De La Vega takes the reins at newly promoted Witton Albion!

I'm already a season and a bit in so I'm writing behind myself. This update will be lacking a lil' depth.

Witton Albion - Rodrigo De La Vega - 08/09 BSN

The team was more or less bare aside from 3 youngsters. Only one of them was to feature in any way over the season and that was only to cover the right side of midfield, one of the team's many weaknesses.

The wheeling and dealing began in earnest and I brought in a lot of new faces. Some you might recognise like Livermore, Obeng and Wolfe.

transfers

The start of the season was quite spotty form wise. I'd win some, I'd lose some, as the saying goes. I was looking at maybe mid table if that continued, exactly what I'd told the board I'd get.

Things started to pick up as my team started to gel and my player of the season, Efe , found form. We eventually got into a 15 match unbeaten run towards the end of the season.

We met all expectations in the cups, surpassing them in the FA Cup where we got to the 1st round. In the Trophy and Shield we reached the 3rd rounds. The money from them kept us in the black.

I found myself top of the table with two games to go before the end of the season. All I had to do was draw against Tamworth, who were 2nd.

Witton V Tamworth

Well, after having messed that up we were still top, just. So we needed to beat Kettering, who were 3rd. A team we hadn't beaten in the 3 ganes we'd played. We hadn't even got a point from them.

We lost 1 - 0 and therefore lost out on the title to Tamworth.

I was still fairly happy though. We'd overachieved and still had a chance with the player offs.

We were drawn against Altrincham.

1st leg

2nd Leg

Squeaked it!

That meant we were in the final...against Kettering.

Final V Kettering

Could see that coming. One more season in the BSN. Hopefully one where I could address the main concerns I'd noticed.

1) Keeper - My two keepers were rubbish. Blackmore and Taylor. I needed someone who was at least half decent for the level, and decent now instead of later.

2) Depth in midfield - When it came to cover on the wings I really suffered. I'd need to fill those gaps.

Roll on next season...I'm about 7 games in so far icon_smile.gif

Right, first of all apologies for bringing this up again. I wasn't going to, but the situation seems to be getting worse and I don't know if it;s just my game or if there is a bigger problem.

It concerns the number of games in which lots of goals are being scored. I did apologise already so please read on.

I've posted my findings in this thread and it basically says the following.

I looked only at games in which 7 or more goals were scored.

Season 1. 2007/08. (Holiday season).

0 games had a total of 7 or more goals scored.

Season 2. 2008/09.

8 games had a total of 7 or more goals scored.

Season 3. 2009/10.

11 games had a total of 7 or more goals scored.

Season 4. 2010/11. (Info only up to 12th October).

10 games had a total of 7 or more goals scored, (and we are only in October).

Would any of you who are interested please tell me if there is a similar trend developing in your games. If you are not interested then thanks for reading and apologies for bothering you.

Evertonbloke Season 2 Update

Well overall we had a great season icon_smile.gif

It started out as we finished the last season, with an unbeaten run stretching 27 matches icon_smile.gif add that to the 13 at the end of last season and we put together a 40 match unbeaten streak!!! I think thats my longest ever.

Come the end of our run and you woul dexpect us to be top by a long way, not so. Billericay were on a hot streak too and were only a couple of points behind.

After the run ending loss, we got straight back on it, another good streak and we were top by 8 points with 7 matches to go, it was looking good.

Then it all went wrong, and I dont mind admitting I started shouting at the computer like that german kid on you tube! From the next 6 games we took 2 points and I hadnt changed anything, AT ALL!

We finished second and waltzed through the play off semis coming up against Cambridge City in the final. It was a tight match and there was a tense few minutes when we were 1 down, but we equalise very quickly, then went on to win icon_smile.gif

Next season is in the Blue Square Premier and I think we are looking at top half at least. We had a great season and I am confident, bring it on!

Table

History:

08/09 Blue Square South 8th - 66pts --- Overachievers award

Season Update!

Team: Mangotsfield United

Division: Blue Square Premier

Year: 09/10

Pre-Season Prediction: 24th

Final Position: 8th

These 2 updates are going to be really really short folks, as I'm not feeling too great, and just want to get them done quick while Imageshack is being reliable for a change.

An excellent season of stability in the BSP, which saw us consolidate our position, and increase our finances comfortably too.

Star player was Chris Zebroski. And so he bloody well should be. On £1100 a week, when the closest to him for wages was about £300 a week...

Season 3 Update!

Team: Mangotsfield United

Division: Blue Square Premier

Year: 10/11

Pre-Season Prediction: 19th

Final Position: 1st (Promoted)

Other Achievements: Won FA Trophy

What a season. I decided to go for quality rather than quantity for the 1st time in a Dafuge challenge, and it certainly payed off.

Ryan Esson in goals, Chris Carruthers at left back, Michael Bridges up front, Jordan Stepien and Chris Zebroski up front, Stef Frost (Club Captain) and Ben Smith in midfield were all so much better than BSP level.

Add to that the loan signings of Middleton, Beevers and Blake from parent club Cardiff, and we had an excellent side this year.

We were always up there at the top, and even managed to win the league with games to spare, allowing us to rest players before our 3-1 victory over Brentford in the FA Trophy final!

Now up to League 2, I've went for a more long term approach, and have concentrated on bringing in youngsters released from the top clubs, in the hope that 1st team football will help them flourish. Add to that the addition of ex-club captain Sean Hessey for a bit of experience, and we should do well.

Wish me luck! icon_biggrin.gif

Match Squad

When yo mentioned Ian Snodin I was expecting the former Leeds player and ex chuckle brother look a like - but then again , he'd be about 50 now
