Here you all go updated logos for FM2008 - Include logos for all the English League Sides from the Premiership down to the Challenge sides, bear in mind the quality of the logos for the challenge teams varies drasticaly, I've done the best I can with what I could find (was getting bad when google was linking back to the forums record thread and last years challenge screenshots)

Standard English Club Logos and some Standard English Competition Logos - please don't post these links outside of this thread yet, as you may have noticed I haven't finished redoing my site yet, but have decided to give you lot access to them first. (Rotated Logos are also available, but I haven't finished tweaking the default skin to display them correctly yet).

Would it be ok to host those logos on the challenge site, with credit being given to you of course. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yeah sure, someone my want to check that I haven't made any mistakes first. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

If you let me know once they have all been checked i'll get them all up on the site giving you full credit icon_smile.gif

My 1st competative game with my 100% new squad which is getting paid a total of £1,012 per week.

Gotta say I thought I might have a not bad squad but this result has blown me away icon_biggrin.gif

That's just bonkers </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Still going well so looks like it wasent a total fluke! But it would be really odd if my all time biggest win in this challenge was in my very first game.... icon_biggrin.gif

If I could get my board to stretch the wage budget I could buy the ideal replacement for nothing.

So I'll have to try to resort to getting in loan strikers without paying their wages icon_frown.gif

Unlucky, Baidoo's been a beast for me, scored 37 goals in his season at Billericay.

Cheeky buggar icon_eek.gif!

They got a dodgy penalty in the 50th minute of the 1st half and then "parked the bus" in the 2nd half and hit us on the break when we were playing 244 late on. Their 3rd goal came in 111th minute of the game icon_mad.gif!

In all seriousness, we weren't good enough to go up. It might well do us a favour not to go up at the first attempt. Without a decent feedder I am REALLY struggling for quality and remember I'm using the medium database so players that are getting released in your game are generally being re-signed in mine.

I found it really hard but really rewarding at the same time.

If I had carried on my Chippenham save I would have walked the league. I had Frankie Artus, Coe Skuse and 6 other quality players in on loan and I was tearing up the division.

This is more my style icon_biggrin.gif.

Update - End of Season 1 (2008 / 2009)

My first season as manager of Ilkeston Town.

I inherited a completely empty squad so quickly went about assembing a squad to survive in this division. It was a difficult start but eventually we started to win some games and eventually ended up finishing in 14th position.

One of my signings was Super Kyle from Barrow, but he played pretty pants so no more mention to him. My star player was a young promising striker called Dax Hoogerwerf! Strange name!

Finances are now pretty dodgy so I'm going to have to trim my squad and see what I can pick up on free transfers to help me push further up the table next season.

When and where is it shown?

I think it's in the pre season stuff with the promoted youngsters etc. You can access it after that in your squad screen in the history section.

Chippenham Town Pre-season Update 10/11

Promotion Odds

Pre-season results

Transfers

i would also like to vote for

Vicktor Illugason

for legend status 48 goals in 66 appearances pretty awsome i thought.

on a side note Ireland made it to the WC final and only lost 1-0 to france. bizzare.

Unlucky Jimbo.......

As a fellow Boreham Wood manager I feel your pain. icon_frown.gif

I'm having similar problems with feeder clubs and attracting any real quality.

Slightly concerned about the similarities between our games though! Currently in the playoffs (33 games in) with AFC Wimbledon who I've beaten 3/3 times this season icon_rolleyes.gif

**The Puritans-September '08**

Currently sitting 12th after the first month in charge after a very topsy-turvy beginning.

09/08/08 Cheltenham (a) 0-1

11/08/08 Bognor Regis (h) 0-1

16/08/08 Newport County (a) 0-1

All narrow losses in games I was never really out of but it still didn't really prepare me for the sudden change as the team seemed to click with each other and sublime skill suddenly became more than the name of the favourite in the 3:30.

23/08/08 Sutton Utd 4-0

25/08/08 AFC Wimbledon 5-0

30/08/08 Fisher 1-0

Pulling the strings has been new fan favourite Michael Charles

Billericay Town - 2008/09 Blue Square South End of Season Update

Well, a rollercoaster season is now over, here is the full and exclusive report:

It all started on 19th June, a wide-eyed manager named Alex Drew being named the new manager of Billericay Town, a club with a decent wage budget and great funds (none for transfer of course), but unfortunately I'd inherited a team of three youth players and no staff. Soon, work was set on strengthening the backbone of the club for the tough season ahead, and they are as follows:

The Signings (throughout the season)

The Staff

We were expected to make a respectable finish in the league, however I told the board I believed we could get a mid-table finish. How wrong my predictions would be come May 2009.

Pre-Season

We had a valuable tour of Scotland, where we lost all 4 games, but it was a learning experience, and taught me many things, such as defenders with no pace are a big no-no! After that, the assman arranged some friendlies with some English sides, and we finished our pre-season with 5 wins, a draw and 5 defeats. A mixed bag indeed, and results fitting a mid-table side.

The League Season

We started the season with a 1-0 away win over Merthyr Tydfil, and by the end of August we had a very good record, winning 4 of our 5 games, the pip of these being a 4-1 win over Eastbourne, and the low point being a thrilling 4-3 loss to Lewes. Already at this early stage, Darryl Knights and Shabazz Baidoo had created a strong strike partnership between themselves. The strong run of form continued into September, with us remaining unbeaten for the month, winning 4 and drawing one. October reaped similar fruits, with us winning 3 of our 4 games, and remaining unbeaten still for the last 2 months.

However, November saw a slight change in form. We started with another win, but then drew the next 3, and ended the month with a 3-2 defeat, our first of the season at Maidenhead. However in this month, Darryl Knights hits his 30th goal of the season. December brought just two league games, both ending in wins. Only now have I noticed how many cup games there were that month!

With 2009 beginning with us still top of the league, we had a month of mixed results, winning 3 games, drawing one and losing 2. This month also saw Darryl Knights score his first goal for a month and a half!

In February we returned to our unbeaten spell, winning 5 games and drawing just one. With the end of the season approaching, we won 3 games and drew one in March. In April, we were odds on to win the title, and after a 3-2 away win over Weston-super-Mare (having been 2-0 down), we lost 1-0 to Havant & W, BUT the result wasn't important, as it meant we had WON THE BLUE SQUARE SOUTH! icon_cool.gif. We finished off the season with 2 wins and a loss.

All in all, it was a fantastic league season, and I never expected us to win the title, but now we need to prepare for the new season in the Blue Square Premier.

Final League Table

Cup Round-Up

FA Cup

We reached the first round proper after 3-1 and 2-1 wins over non-league sides Brentwood and East Thurrock, however we were drawn with Northwich Victoria, where we lost 3-1.

Setanta Shield

In the Southern progression rounds, we excelled. We beat Havant & W 6-0 in the 1st round, followed by a 5-2 win over Worcester and a 5-3 win over Newport County in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. In the 4th Round, we lost a close game 2-1 to Kiddeminister.

FA Trophy

We needed a replay to beat Hucknall 3-2 in the 1st round, following by a 4-1 win over Sittingbourne. We had our biggest win of the season against Bromley, beating them 7-4 in the 3rd round, but in the 4th round we lost 3-1 to Oxford.

Screenies

The Squad

Club Records

Confidence

Key Player

Darryl Knights - What a great season for the lad. An incredible feat to hit 51 goals, easily my star player and main man. He also won huge amounts of MoM awards, hopefully he'll be able to keep up his great form in the Blue Square PRemier.

A great season, eagerly looking forward to next season icon14.gif.

Had enough for tonight, will have another play when i get home from work tomorrow icon_smile.gif

My new signings look like they've made an impact so far, though I've only played 2 games so can't get carried away with anything as they might turn dung.

Found 2 striker i want, both on a free but can't afford there wages icon_frown.gif both pacey with 16 finishing.

After my poor performance as manager of Hendon and a fair bit of reloading since, I am proud to announce that my new club is Boreham Wood.

I have been given a 2 year plan to survive in the division, though with the standard no staff and 1 first team player with 6 U18 players it still looks to be easier said than done.

Jimbo do you get offered any loanees from Arsenal and Watford?

Richardson

Good League 1 LWB. Retraining as a LB but I use LWB's in my away tactic anyway!

LEts hope he is as solid as his name!

I am strong in DMC but I couldn't let him pass!

Obviously I can't speak for Jimbo, but I couldnt get Watford or Arsenal to cough up any young talent in my Boreham Wood game icon_frown.gif

Don't think its possible first season.

Should be pretty useful in the future though, especailly Arsenal! icon_cool.gif
