Super Bladesman
Looks like I might get something out sooner, will do some tests overnight. This build will include the following fixes/updates thus far: - 4 County Cup Final venues changed to Neutral Stadium rather than National - Level 10 promotion reduced to 28 teams from 56 following the suggestion of Drakestone - Minor Cups now award Prize Money. This is set on the high side to make up for deficiencies elsewhere in the financial model in FM10. - FA Cup: Changed to 3 from 7 subs - King's Lynn Reserves no longer have massive following - London Senior Cup history now stretches back to 1963 thanks to input from Hendonboy. I will add more in a future build - Northern League 2 kits updated (thanks to Drakestone) - Willenhall now start on -10 points for the 2009 season (thanks to -Simmo-) - AFC Liverpool squad list updated - Spartan South Midlands clubs have regional divisions set to encourage proper promotion/relegation pathways - Combined Counties clubs have regional divisions set to encourage proper promotion/relegation pathways - Started work on North West Counties league clubs, setting regional divisions to encourage proper promotion/relegation pathways Maybe doesn't sound much, but it's a massive amount of work. Depending on how busy I am this weekend, I will either upload this tomorrow, or make fixes to the FA Cup and FA Trophy, and finish off defining the regional competitions for the NWC leagues... We're getting there - keep the suggestions coming.

Sanderholm
Anyone who knows how big and bad your computer needs to be to run the full league system smoothly? Never got a chance to try this update out on my regular computer before it crashed and I had to send it to repair (a regular game ran as fast as a Ferrari). Now I'm trying an LLM (starting in Level 10) on my laptop and it the game speed is down to half a star and to be honest.. well the game runs far from smooth at the moment. How many leagues/divisions is active in the English league system? And do I need a badass computer to run this update smoothly?
gcah2008
Could you possibly edit Paddy Kenny so that he has a future contract to join Sheff Utd at the end of his ban, as oppose to being there? As he isn't allowed to even train with the club on his global ban in real life. Small and needless, yes. But still.

Dale Gribble
Fantastic work, got a game going with Stanway Rovers, the team I played for as a kid I was going to mention the Kings Lynn Reserves thing but you have it sorted. alondero
Hi SuperBladesman, thank you for all your hard work with this patch. One question, has anyone raised the issue of staff contracts being too high at lower levels? I think this is currently the one reason why finances are crippling at level 9 (where I am managing Bedfont at the mo). No one player is on more than £25 a week, yet my underworked scout for example is on £150 a week. Can aything be done about this or is it one for SI to investigate? Scoham
just had the fa cup 1st round played, i am ibrighton, but was looking at it. no teams from anyone above BSN/S :/isnt first round when the league teams come in? plus the second round draw was just made, and the biggest clubs are from BSP i can see this going very screwy come 3rd round... See the opening post The FA Cup- I kept seeing people asking about the additional qualifying and preliminary rounds for the FA Cup, so I decided to have a go at editing it. This was not a trivial task, nor one I could absolutely nail to my satisfaction. Firstly, and most importantly I feel – there are the correct number of rounds now, which take place on the correct dates, and the clubs enter at the right stage winning the correct prize money. To achieve this, and to satisfy gameplay constraints, this new FA Cup features clubs from Levels 1 to 9. There would not be room to add all the Level 10 sides, nor time in the season to add more qualifiers. There IS room to add SOME Level 10 sides – so if you want to attempt this in your own game then go ahead! Finally – the FM10 editor currently only permits FOUR QUALIFYING ROUNDS… in the FA Cup there ought to be six. I have raised this with SI; in the meantime, you will have to make do with the real-life Third Qualifying Round being called the First Round; Premiership and Championship clubs enter in Round 5. This is ONLY an issue of names, and will hopefully be rectified – in the interim, I felt it was a sacrifice worth making. If it’s too problematic, I did this competition last and have the xml file from beforehand, i.e. with SI’s FA Cup still in – contact me if you want it. However, I won’t be offering any support for this file, and going on the edited FA Cup file (i.e. the one in the links above) will be the only one I make edits to. Azeryk-
Super Bladesman - How much more are you planning to add to the database before you are happy with how it stands Am seriously thinking of giving this a go, although am concerned about game speed in 10-15 seasons time - but if you have lots planned for the next couple months I might wait till then? Jorge Campos
Personally I've found FM to have made a massive improvement in game speed compared to the size of your database. Right now I have a large database, plus custom player loading of all top division players from several continents, plus all current national team players from all continents in the world. My database size is 75,000 players and staff, which is enormous compared to what my PC could handle without slowing down in the past couple of versions. Previously once I got to about 55,000 players and above, the game slowed down considerably. Granted, with FM10 I have England as the only active nation with leagues only down to level 8. But if you have a PC with reasonably good specs, I think you could easily handle Super Bladesman's file. His file won't increase your database size that much, and if you just make the English leagues active, you should have no trouble. I've found that the biggest drain on system resources is when you start running leagues from a lot of different countries. My PC is from late 2006 and has an AMD dual core processor and 2 GB of RAM. Nothing too special. Running Windows Vista Home Premium, which takes up half a gig of RAM on its own.

Well the longer you can wait, the better the file will be. With so many teams in the lower divsions, many that had to be created, the file will probably never be completely finished.
