baker.simon
Newcastle is right, £0, and a minimum expectation of winning the league
Roy Race 9
Newcastle is right, £0, and a minimum expectation of winning the league The budget sounds right:thup: I am still playing with the transfer window update for 09DB from sortitout... and Newcastle have just bought Carrick for £20m...he is also on 80k a week:thdn: not realastic at all the FM10 reflects the current situation better;)
Hazzydeepy
I think its pretty realistic that at Liverpool you have little starting money to spend, but what is the reason stated at the start for the low budget? Likewise for West Ham and Pompey?

Likewise for West Ham and Pompey? Pompey will certainly have better funds on full game release as their takeover has gone through since the demo release (and birmingham's)
shoome
Likewise for West Ham and Pompey? Given that two of West Ham's directors have taken a pay reduction in order that the club may afford to sign Guillermo Franco - and that the club's sponsors, SBOBET, fronted the money for Alessandro Diamanti - I'd say it's just about right. The club have made it clear since early summer that they have been working on a sell-to-buy policy.
eldeniro
is it realistic that Barca only have 13 million??
urbanjunkie
Spurs have more than £8M available for Jan. Although considering the 'deadwood' there, it wouldn't be too hard to raise capital.
Hazzydeepy
Thanks for the info Shoome and Walsh - but I was more wondering whether the board said anything regarding the low budgets especially at Liverpool. I think it would be quite a challenge for once to lead Liverpool to some sort of dominance with low budgets each season with the yanks being there. baker.simon
This realistic budgets argument is secondary really. This team should have this, this team should have that. If people want realism, then they should tick the "dont allow budgets during the first window" box as the summer transfers are already there. Just my opinion.... Hazzydeepy
^ Yeh I do that baker.simon. Makes the initial transfer window boring but definitely mirrors real life as you dont end up with Man.City having spent 100 million on 5 more world class players and portsmouth having brought in another 10 players and there being so many new players that its farcical. I've never really taken that option but I've figured that, like me, you manage Newcastle right? Given that they already start with nothing to spend and about £7,000 left of their wage budget, does the 'don't allow budgets during first transfer window' box affect that at all or does it remain the same? And does it also mean that selling players in nigh on impossible? I'm not sure I can stomach paying a virtual Nicky Butt for a whole year before his contract expires. I like of idea of using the option though to prevent too much shake-up prior to the beginning of the season.
eshaan
is it realistic that Barca only have 13 million?? Perfectly so. Barca already spent a lot on Chirgynwinski or whatever his name is and Ibrahimovich. Not likely to spend anymore. United have a huge budget because they did not spend the Ronaldo money

ozzy_jam
Think I'm going to start by not allowing transfers in the first window to keep it more realistic, but do you then get the full amount in january or a different amount?
