Don't care too be honest. Grant is doing a fantastic job keeping us competitive with so many top players out, although I still can't see beyond United for the league.

Have never thought we were particularly boring too watch either - under either Jose or Grant. Arsenal and United player better football sure, but I think we're as entertaining as anyone else.

Arsenal (A), CL

Arsenal should be EPL surely?

Not at all neon. I'm just happy to see us winning despite having stupid amounts of players out again. It's great that we're keeping pace whereas last season injuries saw us drop out of the race pretty much. We're playing fairly entertaining football with our best team out. I read today that only Arsenal are playing a lower percentage of long balls than us in the premiership this season.

Sometimes we just have to grind out results. It's these results that have us 10 points ahead of Liverpool at the moment because they can't grind out the victories when they're having problems like we can.

Very good performance tonight. They didnt look like doing anything bar set pieces where we only had Alex and Ricky with any sort of ability in the air so was worrying. Love that position for SWP, seems to find so much room moving around. Anelka unlucky to hit bar (nearly sure takes a touch of Jagielka i think it was or it was going in). Brilliant ball by Malouda for goal although thats all he did. Joey jsut icon_cool.gif. Bridge and Belletti both looked good and Ricky, Alex & Cech where just immense.

MOTM - Ricky

We tried playing SWP there a few times and he did really well, away at Newcastle especially when we lost 4-3 but he got 2 goals comes to mind. We just didn't have the other players you have to open up the space and teams just man marked him after that and he soon got stuck back on the right

I agree though i've watched his last few games in that position and he's playing really well

Right guys - carling cup final ticket - what are my chances?

Not a 'True Blue' member because, as a student, the amount of games I would be able to go to in a season simply not worth it. But yeah, without joining are my chances basically zilch? What about Ebay/Ticketmaster etc? If I did become a member, with zero points, how slim would my chances be?

Suppose the one thing going for me is I wouldn't mind going by myself, will just have to scratch my head and figure out who might be able to help me get a ticket.

I'd love to tbh. Fancy a little FA Cup run after going to the QPR game. Tickets are usually plentiful away to Wigan aren't they? Imagine it's different due to it being FA Cup icon_frown.gif

Online sales until 2pm Wed 23rd, then personal & telephone callers only

Tickets for this match are priced at £15.00 for adults and £10.00 for seniors and £5 for juniors. We have received an initial allocation of 4000 tickets.

Travel to Wigan

Subsidised train travel will run from £10.00 per person subject to availability. Coach travel is also being provided - you can book online via Thomas Cook.

fwiw, if you want in you'll need to be a member/borrow a membership and get it done quickly. I'm not going because I've already been there this season and really can't be arsed to go back, done Wigan twice, there's not an exceptional enough appeal to go back there again.

So Reading tonight at home, should be a comfortable 3 points, although in saying that we drew 2-2 last season due to Ashley Cole not having a right foot apparently.

Speaking of Ashley can see him starting tonight and can see Paulo playing on the other side. Think we will win this 2-0 with Anelka & Joey the goalscorers.

Not looking forward to it much, always have bad feelings about Reading games.

In better news though, got my CC Final ticket icon_cool.gif Oh, and the Youth Team are playing their FAYC 5th Round tie at the Bridge tomorrow night, 7pm kickoff, free entry, get along to it. I say that, I don't think anyone else in this topic lives close enough to.

No, he's not.

To be fair, he did really well for parts of his loan at Brentford in both DC and DMC (he's most definitely a centre back), he's about 6' tall, decent pace, when he plays for our reserves he's the most senior player, no longer captain but has a captain's attitude to things. Is absolute deadwood here, needs a move permanently for his career.

Tonight's game was rubbish, Joe Cole MotM. Looked like he mugged Maradona of his skills at Cobham this week.

3-1 win for the youths, Nielsen, Kakuta and Stoch scored. Port Vale or Spurs in the next round.

How's Nielsen looking? Not much seems to ever be said about him, as it seems at the mo' everyone's expecting the most from Mancienne, Worley, Cork, Mellis, Nouble and Kakuta. From reading the occasional report on the official website, Nielsen does seem to chip in with a few goals though and he's certainly got talent in his blood. Any signs he might be decent?
