Spleen!
Race 8 of 18, End of race update (24/6/16), Part 1 8 races have been completed now, and we now have 6 different race winners, after Darren Gilmartin took the top spot. Perennial struggler earlier in the competition, he has finished 2nd and 1st in the last 2 races after a move to Dinamo. His 25 goals were the joint 2nd most of anyone this season. The player in 2nd place is more used to being near the top of the table. Alex Yong made it 4 successive top 4 finishes, and James May returned to form to take 3rd, after 4 races without a point. May only just managed to beat Lawrence Lazewski Jr., with 2 points between the 2 of them at the end. This wasn't the closest it got though, with an unprecedented 3 drivers all ending with 509 points. The Championship leader Jamie Mitchell was one of these, but he ended up in 7th, a disappointing race for him and his worst since the first. Ping Pong and Kenichi Morishita were both put ahead of Mitchell by virtue of scoring more goals. The top goalscorer this year was Magnus Vestergaard for Cultural Leonesa, with 29 goals in 36, giving him 10th place. 1 place above Vestergaard was Marcoos Lamont, who had a fantastic first half of the season for Motherwell, then got injured after joining Preston, so he didn't play for his new club at all. Danny McKay and Gervase Smith, of Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively, finished in 17th and 22nd, after scoring only 5 goals each. 4 goals more than Jonathan then, as he only played 8 times for Gimnastic this season, and scores no points for the 2nd race in a row. For those still in the English lower leagues, it was another race without points for them, despite some good performances. Joe Tompkins scored 23 times for Blue Square Premier side Team Bath, and Zappy Zap and Nick Jnr. scored 25 and 24 times in the Blue Square North. After no one received more than 1 red card last season, Daemon ensured this wouldn't happen again, picking up 7 yellow and 2 red cards as he finished in 25th place. Spleen!
Race 9 of 18, Transfer window update (1/9/16) Injury news: - Wok Ho Lai is out for 7 days - 2 weeks with strained knee ligaments. - Sam Fisher is out for 5-7 days with a bruised head. Transfer news: - There have been plenty of players on the move during the summer, as has become the norm over the past few years. Sjefke Vandervlugge completed his £10.75M move from Betis to Chelsea, Kenichi Morishita joined Sunderland from relegated Q.P.R. for £6M, and Carlos Ferrari has made his return to England, joining Leeds of the Championship on a free from Salernitana. Elsewhere, Sam Fisher has left Rangers after only making 3 appearances in 2 seasons for the club. He has signed for Championship outfit Burnley on a free transfer. Jody Flint has moved up a league, joining Blackburn from Bristol City for a fee of £2.9M after 3 years with the club. Another one to move to a higher level in England is Nick Jnr., who leaves his original club Workington after 8 years of loyal service. He has joined Bradford for £275k. As well as a number of transfers happening in England, teams have been busy on the continent. Lawrence Lazewski Jr. has swapped clubs in the Czech league, moving from Mlada Boleslav to Slovan Liberec for £675k - £100k less than what Mlada paid for him only 1 year ago. Also in the Czech Republic, Liami Hurstovic has signed for Teplice from Mlada Boleslav for £625k. Brandon Cooke has decided to move further east, leaving Partizan for Maccabi Haifa on a free transfer, and he will become the first to play in the Israeli league. The final 3 transfers of this summer all involved Spanish clubs. The new Pee Wee was quick to leave Welling, as he joined LIGA adelante side Racing for £5k. JJ Blaze is another player to move from England to Spain (the weather probably a contributing factor), as he left Barnsley on a free to sign for Almeria. Lastly, Brettney Joven has joined Cadiz from Malaga for £1M. - Mikael Senna is wanted by Bielefeld. - Slartibartfast Irjala is wanted by Rangers and Toronto FC. - Ben Taylor is wanted by Leeds, West Ham and NAC Breda. - Zappy Zap is wanted by Exeter, Kilmarnock and Adelaide United. - JJ Blaze is wanted by Rostock. - Daemon is wanted by En Avant de Guingamp, FC Metz, Nimes Olympique and Tours Football Club. - Moussa Gol'o is wanted by Busan. - James May is wanted by Leicester and Millwall. - Gervase Smith is wanted by Betis and Zaragoza. - Joe Tompkins is wanted by Exeter. - Liam Ferguson is wanted by Exeter, Leyton Orient, Kilmarnock and St. Mirren. - Jonathan is wanted by Hercules. - Magnus Vestergaard is wanted by Elche. - Fred Stavros wants to be transfer listed at Fulham. Other news: - 23 players are now valued at £1m or more. - Distribution of players: NAT (1), Ade (3), SPL (3), EPD (7), CCC (6), L1 (2), BSN/S (4), Bun (2), 2B1 (1), BBVA (3), CZD1 (2), K-L (1), GSW (1), A (1), MD1 (1), FPD (1), Ere (1), IPL (1), MLS (1). This season sees 7 players starting in the English Premier Division, more than ever before. However, whether these 7 can get in the points depends on how often they play - and score - in England's highest level. Home Race: Race 9 is the home race for 5 drivers: Name - Current position - Best finish Ping Pong - 9th - 5th Buay Tahan - Joint 11th - 1st Nee Thaweechoksubsin - Joint 25th - 4th Slartibartfast Irjala - 36th - 15th Pee Wee - 19th - 5th
