CaptainPlanet
Fairly simple question, why is it always 4-4-2?
golfpunk
Maybe because it's a very popular tactic in the world of football. It is used by a high % of teams and in some people's eyes is the template for alot of managers to base their team around. Tougher question than it looks
starburst91
I think it gets the right amount of players to choose from in each position aswell
AcidBurn
I think the team of the year should represent the formation played the most in the league, in Spain most teams play a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 depending on what you call it. Surely the team of the year should play that formation aswell.
Raware
It's not always 4-4-2. I have the Chinese league's loaded on my current save and their team of the year formation is 4-3-1-2. Maybe it has something to do with the national formation as China play 4-3-1-2?
kajito99
Yes the formation is always the same as the formation of the national team of the country that league is in. So in england, it's 4-4-2 because england play 4-4-2.

Maybe it has something to do with the national formation as China play 4-3-1-2? Yeah, China's is like that. Which made it rather amusing when, for three years in a row, the player of the season winners were wingers, so never made the team of the year
Hibernian
Yes the formation is always the same as the formation of the national team of the country that league is in. So in england, it's 4-4-2 because england play 4-4-2. On my game Capello is always playing a 4-2-3-
SCIAG
That could be Capello's formation, but England's is set as 4-4-2 in the db.
