silva_gunner
Ok.. so i just had a bid acceptd for a player, got a contract accepted and everyting. Then on the screen which tells you the transfer will go through it says 'Schalke will continue to pay Xs wages until the end of his old contract as he is taking a pay cut'. Eh??
afced7
He had time left on his old contract and only joined you because schalke are making up his wages to what he was already being paid
phnompenhandy
Sometimes when you want to offload a player with a huge salary, the club wanting to buy him will only agree if you continue paying part of his wages (like Leeds paying Robbie Fowler after he left IRL). The aI can do the same.

The Havok
On 08 I had to continue paying one of my ex-players £13k a week after he left, that's the only time its happened to me.
silva_gunner
Ok...i was just suprised as i've never heard of this in real life. Do you think zenit are still paying Arshavin??
Falastur
Ok...i was just suprised as i've never heard of this in real life. Do you think zenit are still paying Arshavin?? No, because almost certainly Arshavin increased his wages substantially to come to Arsenal, and even if he's earning less, Arsenal are the more prestigious team. This feature is basically there for when a player wants to tell his old manager "I'm not happy to be making a move which I think is a step down for me. Pay me to make it worthwhile". PLF
No, because almost certainly Arshavin increased his wages substantially to come to Arsenal. I doubt that.
afced7
Well he does want more now, so maybe he did take a paycut, after all Zenit do seem to have a big amount of money. But it's not like Arshavin took a significant step down, in fact he took a pretty big step up, so I really doubt Zenit are paying him anything still
