U18 _ Unable to get them to train 1st Team Tactic

Just created another new game and exactly the same issue...please fix asap as no point me starting career save at the moment...

Seems Preferred Tactic of U18 Manager locked in despite me taking control. I sacked him only to find that the U18 tactic was know locked as U18 Assistant Manager's Preferred tactic.....

Found a workaround now, although definitely a bug since FM21. After starting new save I need to set 1st team tactic and ensure via the Development Centre that U23's and U18's set to use 1st team tactic. If then go to Staff Responsibilities to take control of General and Individual Training for U23's and U18's any changes I make to 1st team tactics will show in U23's and u18's.

If you take control of training BEFORE setting tactics in Dev Centre you are locked out..... Phew....what a long winded way to do things........ Definitely needs fixing...

I'm having the same problem, as well as not getting any emails about the U18 training and their individual training defaulting to being controlled by the U18 manager, even though both responsibilities are ticked for me. It's happened in the beta and the full release, both times with Tottenham.  My two Ajax games (beta and full) worked fine.

As an aside to the quandrum presented in the OP post:

 

I would like the option of having my U23 and my U18 use my first team tactics, but letting the U23 and U18 manager select the right ROLES for each position. The way it works now, if the youth teams play with your tactics then the player roles get slapped onto the players regardless if they make sense or not. For example, if your tactic use wingers, but the youth teams have inside forwards, then they get played as wingers in the youth teams.

 

I always find U23 and U18 managers that show in their profile that they will play at least one of my preferred two tactics that I use for the first team. I then let them have control of what tactics themselves. That way the shell stays the same while the player roles stay correct, and I can better start to form an opinion about how the youth players will fit into the first team setup.

Same issue for me. It's very frustrating and makes me not even want to play right now

Unfortunately no update to give as of yet but I assure you it's still on our radar, the team are doing what they can.
