If you're familiar with the pre-game editor, you know it's possible to change or remove any league's registration rules. The issue was that whenever the change is made, the game forgot that Super Lig and other lower leagues have uneven number of teams and the number of teams in a league stayed the same throughout the game. I just realized why and I'm going to explain it step by step.

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

1 - Open Football Manager 202x editor. It's a free tool that comes with the game and can be reached under Tools label in your Steam library. It should look like this:468370517_Editor1.png.fbd981416a8889f90d8d3ab7a030c539.png

You can, if you want to, change your language as well. It's under Settings --- Language.

2 - On the top left, click Rules and then click "Add Nation Rules". Click "Add Lower Divisions and Cups to Existing Structure" and choose a nation. Since I'm interested in Turkish registration rules, I choose Turkey under Current Nations. Then click Finish.

3 - Under the Rules tab again, click "Convert to Advanced Rules" and then click Yes. At this point, you should save your data since this is the database you will use in the game. You can save under Files tab with Save Editor Data As... button. When you convert to advanced rules, it should look like this:1958695313_Editor3.png.d592afc432eaec90cc114db38fbdd849.png

4 - On the left side where it says "Show Rules For Turkey", click the little arrow pointing out to Turkey. This will open up general rules and settings of Turkey. Then click on the arrow pointing out to Fixture Rules, then click on the arrow pointing out "Rules 0 PREMIER". This is the Turkish top level league "Süper Lig". Here click on Squad Selection Rules.

It opens up all the rules followed by the league at certain years (or always). From here, you can change any rules, or simply remove all of them. Personally, I made it similar to UEFA registration rules: 4 Homegrown from the club, 8 Homegrown from the nation. For the purposes of this post, let's remove all with the Homegrown part.

There's a slider on the right hand side to rows. Slide further down until you find those that you want to remove. Click on the OK icon very left of the rows to select a particular row. You can select more than one row. When you select it all, click Remove on the top of the rows. After that, save your editor.

5 - You can, and should, repeat this process for other leagues and cups in the nation. In Turkey, "Rules 1 LEAGUE A" corresponds to "1. Lig" and "Rules 2 Turkish 2. League" corresponds to "2. Lig" as a whole (covering both "2. Lig Kırmızı Grup" and "2. Lig Beyaz Grup"). But more importantly you should change your National Cup (Türkiye Kupası) and National Super Cup (Süper Kupa) rules, in case they have similar rules.

6 - YOU DON'T HAVE TO FOLLOW THIS STEP. On the left where it says "Show Rules For", click on Turkey and change it to Turkish Super League. This will open all the league structures and settings of "Süper Lig". Click on the arrow pointing out to "Turkish Super League (20 teams (fixed))", then click Requirements. It should look like this: 1631823768_Editor5.png.7d0f919fdb5f465863d3794728d965c4.png

Here, note that "Valid Years" option is ticked, with 2 rows. On the second row, it implies that as long as the competition "Turkish 3. League" is "Fixed Format", this 20 teams structure will continue.

Now click on the arrow pointing out to Stages. Then click on the arrow pointing out to "Stage 0 - leag (League)". Then click on the arrow pointing out to League Settings and finally click Qualification Rules. Here slide down to Relegation Rules. It shows the Number of Relegation Places as 3. As long as this "20 teams (fixed)" league is active, it will have, as you guessed, 20 teams; since 3 teams will relegate below and 3 teams will promote from below.

Similary, you can look for Turkish 1. League (19 teams fixed) and Turkish 2. League (38 teams (2021) Fixed format) and they have the same issue. To solve this problem, let's move on to step 7.

7 - On the left where it says "Show Rules For", click on Turkey and change it to Turkish 3. League. Then click on "Turkish 3. League" (do not click on the arrow pointing out to Turkish 3. League). There you will see the format rules under Mode as "Fixed Format Rules (Disables Extra Promotions/Relegations)". Change that to "Flexible Format Rules". After that, save your editor again. It should look like this:

8 - In order to play with these rules, you must verify these in the editor first. To do that, click on Rules at the top, then choose Test Rules and then choose All. This will simulate the game for three years for all active leagues in nation and will come with an error if there is one.

9 - After that, the game is ready to be played. Open Football Manager 202x. Click on Start a New Game, then Career. It should open custom setup by default. Click under database. This will open updates to the game as well as all of our editor data. Note that you must only use one editor data for one specific country.

Click Confirm and then click Advanced Setup. After that, you're good to go.

There are tons of things you can do with the pre-game Editor, like adding a team (such as Kastamonuspor) to an active league, creating your own cup, changing your team's stadium etc. If you need, you can ask me questions about it and I can answer them.

    Hope this helps you.
