    Hi guys,

I'm doing a save in Finland, and i'm curious why faroese players count as non EU, when african players or caribean players don't...

I think it's a mistake in the rules. I know Faroe islands are not in EU nor in Schengen, but they are a part of the Nordic Passport Union, which allow every nordic citizen to moove freely across all nordic countries.

Do someone from Finland knows if IRL Faroese players are considered non EU ?

Thanks in advance for your comments on this very interesting (or not) topic !

That's an interesting question - I've always thought that Faroese players are counted as 'EU'. But as stated they are not part of EU or Schengen.

Most of the African and Caribbean countries are part of Cotonou agreement, so they are not counted against the foreign player quota.

I have to look into this a bit further.

This is a part of the bigger issue described here.

Faroe Islands is a UEFA member nation and therefore Faroese players are NOT considered foreign players in Finland IRL.

In Finland, players from UEFA member nations are considered as EU-players.
