Ran a long-range save to test some other things, and found that a number of clubs in active leagues had staff members close to or over the age of 100.
On further investigation, a number of these clubs (Everton, Chelsea, Man City, Middlesbrough) specifically had Heads of Youth Development of extreme age that were listed as 'Interim Manager', but had been filling that role for several decades. Those clubs are able to make transfers and are mostly functional, but they never dismiss the manager and they also can't hire any staff of their own (the only staff members left at the club are ones that were there before they joined).
This isn't the case for all HoYDs, and may have something to do with those HoYDs also having responsibility for U23 Management; some like Unsworth formally hold the title still, and they all claim credit for U23 accomplishments in bio (which the ones that are able to transition in and out of the interim role with no problems, e.g. Mikey Stilgoe at Tottenham, don't). Worth noting also that there are also a handful of U23 Managers who have never retired (Huddersfield, Brighton, Plymouth, Accrington).
