    What looks like a good tackle was a straight red - went to VAR and everything.

    We've had a look at the debug in the PKM and it turns out that this specific example isn't a bug as the ref actually made an incorrect call.

    The tackle was legal but the ref saw it as a two footed challenge, and thus sent the player off.

    This did bring the lack of bad/hard tackle animations to our attention though, and we'll improve upon that for future.

    Interesting, good to know. Pretty bad ref to still get it wrong even with video review, though that does happen. It's been nice to see VAR actually have some result variance this year, regardless.

    I've always been a bit frustrated by the questions asking what I thought about a particular call, because even if I can see the animation at all I still don't know if it's accurate. I know the press conference questions can give hints, but it would be good to have more clarity, ie "further review shows the ref got it wrong" in an absolute when appropriate, while we wait on the animation to develop further.
