  • Player rejects loan extension despite wanting loan extension

    This has happened with three players in two consecutive seasons for me.

    • Had players on loan from an affiliate club.
    • At the end of the season, I'm told the players would be interested in renewing (see screenshot).
    • I agree a loan extension with the parent club.
    • The player immediately rejects it as they are 'not interested' in joining.

    A bit of extra detail.

    • Once Jenkins-Davies went back to his parent club on the 30th June, the parent club (senior affiliate) refused to loan him to me as they wanted him to player with higher quality players.
    • Meanwhile, they accepted another loan deal for Shirley but he still rejected it. He now has no loan interest according to the scout report.
    • When this happened the season before, the player rejected the extension before the original deal ended. Then rejected a loan offer after the original expired. But was happy to join me on a permanent deal instead.
