    Hey!

This year we've added a new file to public versions of the game, which gets automatically generated for your last played match. These are called .rec files, and they allow the developers to replay a match exactly as it played out live. This makes them incredibly useful when trying to investigate issues relating to tactical changes, replays, match flow or divergences. General AI issues do not require this file. Generally, if an issue is only visible when you play a match live, and not when you watch back the match via your schedule page, then it needs a .rec file attached to the bug report.

    To find your .rec file:

    • As soon as your problem match has finished (if your match got stuck and was unable to be completed, the file will still generate) - navigate to your matches folder then open the automatic folder. C:\Users\user.name\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2022\matches\automatic
    • You should be able to find your match in here and see a file with a name ending in .rec
    • Save a copy of this file and keep it somewhere safe, since otherwise playing any further matches will overwrite this .rec file. We only store the last match played.
    • Provide this .rec file in your bug report, along with a save game from directly before the match you played. This is key since a .rec file is useless without the save game beforehand.

And that's it! Be sure to attach a pkm as per usual as well. If you're not sure whether a bug would require a .rec file or not, best to play it safe and attach one just in case.

    Cheers,

    Jack
