I wouldnt post here unless i was desperate - just because this is one of the most frustrating things possible.
Got newcastle into 4th with about 6 games left and this "cannot load saved game pops up" Kill me now. My first thought is that it is corrupted because thats just my luck. Anyone please know any way i can fix this? how do i know if it is definately corrupted? Also i got the original parsing error xml file last_saved_game.xml Any help would be massivley appreaciated. Cheers. |

Do you have compressed saves? They tend to get corrupted way more often then uncompressed ones.

careful with your virus checker, good idea to have the auto-protect off when playing as it can cause corruption.

It might be too late now, but next time be sure to use the 3 file rolling save option.

yup 3 game rolling autosave exclude your FM files from virus scanning programs, at least if you have a 3 game save you dont have to go too far back

Rolling auto save is not that great if you save manually as well. The system is too dumb to actually save in a different file and instead saves everything to the same file. Still better than only one corrupt save though

Go to preferences. On the left under game settings there's a setting "auto save mode". Select "3 file rolling auto save".

I've just had the same message when trying to load my game. This is the first time in 10+ years of playing CM/FM that I've experienced this, so I guess I've been lucky.
By mistake I was compressing my save file, so now I've unticked that and hopefully it'll be another 10 years before I experience this again! |

I'm having the same problem "can't load save game", but I kept the save game and just reinstalled the windows and the game. Please help, I'm in 2013 with Inter. Thanks!

Try and clear a bit of space. Also, have you uninstalled/reinstalled recently?

yeah, do you know if its possible to upload saved games for others to try and load? or would you need the complete database that it was based on?
Just because im convinced this time the saves aren't actually corrupted and its just something else |

What do you mean by 'complete database'? Is it custom?
If not custom it shouldn't be any problem for someone to give it a try. Upload to one of the free file hosting sites and paste a link. Its a good test. I agree that it is highly unlikely for many saves to corrupt at once. Remember FM isn't backwards compatible, so no 9.3 games on 9.2 6.5 GB is some space, and probably enough, but that is pretty damn crowded for Windows. Keep 15-30% of the OS (or page file) HD free at all times to be safe. Never know how or when Winblows will go gobble some up. |

Thanks mate but unfortunately its a custom database, ive done a re-install but not a "clean" one as such, it still didnt work.
Do you think it would be worth a clean re-install?. Its like- i have 10 saved games in the folder, (including rolling autosaves) which all display "saved game could not be loaded" when i try to load them, very bizzare and frustrating. I dont think they are corrupt though |

I have had some problems on FM09 with saved game corruption. Here is my thread from the 'technical' part of the forum: http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=139375. There is some advice from FrazT in it regarding possible issues and their prevention (e.g. closing the game down etc.) Regards, C. |
