The authentication servers are now live for PC users.

We highly advise people to authenticate through the STEAM platform, as with STEAM installed you will get automatic updates, the first of which is already uploaded and ready to go via STEAM.

Updates for non-STEAM platforms, for those who choose to authenticate through Uniloc online, or via telephone, will be available in the next few hours, and links will be posted here. The torrent file will come next, followed by direct downloads, and this thread will be updated.

Please note that whilst the update will allow many people with below minimum spec machines / graphics cards who had problems with the demo to get the game up and running, some below-spec graphics cards may require the DirectX 9.0 SDK is installed to run the game. We have been unable to test this on every graphics card on the market as, well, we don't have all of them, but this should fix the problem for the majority of those with below spec machines. If we find some that are still not up and running, we will look into these issues in the coming weeks.

Please also note that for those who want to get the demo up and running on their below minimum spec machines before purchasing, we are still planning on releasing a compatability patch for the demo, and this will follow in the coming days. We do not have a firm date for this as yet.

I don't think you can activate on Steam until the game is unlocked. The Australian region is still locked, and it's post 6am EDT

Still, good to see that activation is ready so early. The SEGA announcement made it seem more like they'd be activated at around 10pm or 11pm.

Also, wish I ordered off Steam Instead, I went for the cheap option of The Hut and now probably won't get it until Monday. Bah.

I think it's because Steam is region coded. Maybe because the release seems staggered? As far as I know UK region gets unlocked at midnight, but Australians get it at 6 am (5 hours earlier), so we don't lose a day

I had an I followed by two 1's so I was able to just about notice the difference. It looks to me like the I is perfectly vertical and the 1's are slightly slanted. Not sure if it's just the way it's printed as a few of the other numbers look slightly wonky.

STEAM as a retailer have been a good retailer, and are sticking to the original release dates, as are most retail outlets. So at the time when STEAM are meant to be selling the game, they will be.

There is absolutely nothing that I can do about this as it's completely out of my hands, and I have been told that that decision will not be changed.

When you first put the disc in the drive and it asks how you want to install, choose Uniloc (the bottom option).

Finally managed to do it myself, but having to work out the different combinations and trying them, is just bloody stupid. If you do this system next year SI.....Hint.... Dont use both Zeros and 0's

I am confused - what do you mean? I'm in Australia and it says unlock in 1 day, 1 hour.

It's Nov 14th here, and nearly midnight in the UK(?) - what does this mean, that they are allowing the unlock in American time? Does this mean the 1 day, 1 hour unlock will stand and cannot be changed?

This is absolute crap, well done Steam. You pay extra for the privilege of getting the game early through Steam in comparison to the on-line stores where I could have got it nearly £10 cheaper. You for-go receiving a manual, boxed edition and hard copy (so god knows why it costs more) and then when the game is available Steam still tells me the game isn't released so I can't play it yet, when quite clearly people are doing so already and it has been preloaded.

So basically it would have been cheaper and easier to buy from the shops, then upload onto steam. Theres no real advantage to buying on steam, because they add extra tax onto it when you buy on there too. The Steam system does seem cool though when it does work properly, the way it pre-loads and automatically updates etc.

wel this sucks , i am an fm player for years, who recently moved to the states , hence the reason i ordered the bloody game ON PRE ORDER OFF OF steam because of the delayed release in america , now only to be told that i have to wait for the 17th November to play , well thx very much si and this will be the last fm i ever buy!

Surley those who buy online anywhere in the world should be able to play as the same time as those who buy online in the uk , as it has nothing to do with shipping the game to distributors in different countries, ridiculous!

The people who are able to authenticate their game via STEAM are people who bought the game from unscrupulous retailers who sold the game early.

We've been very clear at every step that people who authenticate through STEAM will get the updates first. The reason is simple - their servers are very fast to upload to, whereas others are slower!
