For the "regulars" to be making an update and using it for only a choice selection of people is shocking and should not be allowed on a PUBLIC forum. Ridley,Crickey etc are simply putting off new users from the forums so while I hope they and there close friends enjoy there update for normal users and especially NEW USERS below is all the updates from January 2009 simply copy and past everything and add it to your current changes.txt file.

It's actually to get more people on the forums, you have to become a regular and do somethin for the forums before you get the update. Don't see what everyone's moaning about it's them that are putting the work in so they have the choice to choose what they do with it.

No matter what you do the update will get out eventually, if you dont want other people using it thats fine dont release it but you shouldnt use a public website to just release it to the people you want to have it. Its up to you what you do with your work I just think that updates should be available to everyone new members and old members .

I think i speak for everyone when i say Crickie and Ridley have done a very good job with their updates, but this shouldn't stop anyone else having a go at updates. For myself, i personally don't have the time to produce them myself, so have to rely on other people, for who I am very grateful.

Ridley and Crickie have every reason to be upset at their own work maybe being stolen, being a user of the Computer version of football manager more often, (I create logo packs for people) I know what it's like when our work is effectually "Stolen" and redistributed in other peoples names. If you look at this in a IRL aspect of football it's a bit like the Cristiano Ronaldo situation with Real Madrid, Man UTD created the wonderful (yet gay) player that he is, and instead of Real Madrid of in effect "creating" their own ronaldo, they effectivly "Steal" (although they pay) Man UTD Coaching Time.

You know what I think is funny how people assume that crickie and ridley and robbrad are not going to give it to new members, they have never said that. Not once. They just said they don't want to give it to the neo users, as they tend to steal their work. As for the password protection, isn't it the same to have someone sign up to get logos or updates or tactics? You can't download them on some sites without signing up, thereby giving a form of protection to the sites owner and controling who can and can't download them. So why is everyone complaining now, BEFORE the update is even released. Nobody knows what the guys plan is, so why don't we wait and see what they do before we attack anybody. Plus they are not stopping anybody from making their own, they just put alot of effort into theirs, researching players and such that makes theirs the premier update. I realize that defending Ridley, Crickie, and RobBrad will cause many to flame me, but they have helped me and others more times than I can remember.

As for the password protection, isn't it the same to have someone sign up to get logos or updates or tactics? You can't download them on some sites without signing up, thereby giving a form of protection to the sites owner and controling who can and can't download them. So why is everyone complaining now, BEFORE the update is even released.

So a sign up which takes 30 seconds to access over 100 files is the same as password protecting a file which is given to certain users.

Crickie if you want to release it with a password then go ahead. But all someone has to do is sign up as a new member and ask for update and password and then release it to the public and that is bound to happen.

Ermm no i dont. It is automatic sign up. Some people didnt receive the automated email due to the server i used which is why i changed host (It was around 5% of members who didnt get the email).

You can read whatever you want into it, anybody can. Why can't you wait until they release it? The biggest point here is that they do this for free and are not charging anyone. They don't even have to release it at all, do they? But they release something that they really do for themselves to the public only to have neo users and others say it is theirs and not give credit to those who put in the hard work.

Look at their forums, anytime something is listed here, it automatically pops up there, and sometimes it is the person who created it. I can't give you a link as I am not a member of neo, but I am sure someone can.

How many people do you think he sent it to? Must be like 10 people at most.

So what? There are loads of people on here who knew you made it and on fmhinfo where your updates have been downloaded many times have had your credits too.

Ermm if they release it in one place that doesnt mean they have to sign up to every forum to release it.

The whole idea is to release something on one forum and for someone else to post it on another hopefully keeping in tact the credits.

I only post on here and not Neo and rely on other people to make my website and my logo packs known on other forums which people do.

Which is fine, I have no problem with your site, all I am saying is that crickie, ridley, and robbrad created the update and put in their time and effort and they should be allowed to choose who gets it or not. If I don't get it because I haven't posted enough, so be it. I can live with that because it is theirs, not mine.

Exactly. The few times i have been to neo (i go there as i search my website name in google to see whats being said). I've seen the same stuff as on here with credits intact.

If Ridley and crickie say that their creations have been stolen, I tend to believe them, what would it accomplish for them to lie. They charge no money for the update at all, so lying will not give them any more "business". So take them for their word and leave it at that.

But if it has been stolen then obviously they have proof?

If the only proof Crickie had was an msn conversation of dec sending the update to very few people and then he "deleted" his only bit of evidence makes me think hes lying.

This seems to be a battle of neo vs si where no one has actually stolen anything. There is no proof and its got out of hand.

So Scott made a challenge using someone elses idea from another forum. Well isnt that classed as stealing?

Surely if it was good it should of been posted on here and credit given to the user who made it on neo. Or am i missing something here?

And you keep escalating it! Let crickie, ridley and robbrad do what they want! It is their work and should be their decision to supply it as they seem fit. You may agree or disagree but it is not your decision. Everyone complains but doesn't want to do the work invovled to put together a update. At the very least the original poster did that and I give him credit for that!

yeah he started the spanish but most of us told him to redo the english as we all prefer to play in england

I've only signed here a few days and already this whole 'mummy, they stole my updates' conspiracy is really putting me off. I'm with James on this - a forum is a community. If you want to keep your updates within your own little clique, you really shouldn't be doing it here.

you either respect what weve decided to do or you dont, were not going to lose sleep over it, even if you do think were being unfair,

like its been mentioned before we will send it out once it is finally completed.

ive been called by several members who have wanted things of me in the past and i know others have as well which is one reason why i do not want to share our work with them why should i let them have a pop at me and then give them everything they need? they want my help one minute and then make threads calling me and slagging me off i think our actions are justified

What people dont seem to get that is you dont need permission to post stuff on other forums.

As long as you give fair credit and a link if possible to the original place then that is fair enough.

This thread was just to give people the lines of changes to put into changes.txt file not for the argument to continue from the other update thread. I was updating the transfers as I went along for my own use and thought as it does me no harm and takes 1 minute I would copy my changes.txt file on here for other people to use if they want too.

No one would steal my update as people on here and neo dont steal the credit as far as im aware.

Unfortunately i have a life and a job and dont have the time to make my own update. I've given my fair share of stuff to the FMH community over the past few years and funnily enough nothing has been stolen and credited by someone else.

The thing i like is that i wont be given the update now as i bet they fear i will release it for all. But good to see that some if not all the members of the update team were registered on FMH using things i had created for free.

And if you wanted, you could stop them from doing it by banning them, hence creating control. If you don't have the time to create one I guess you will have to be ok with the update team's decision then won't you? I think it is silly to argue now because you don't wish to see anybody else's point of view. I realize things get stolen all the time, but if the update team wants to take a stand for what they feel is right, the community here on SI should back them up. I am done arguing, my point is it is theirs to do with as they please, just like your website is yours to do with as you please, and Neo forums are theirs.

All of this discussion is as stated within the rules but it is a shame that there has been 70+ replies and not one has actually contributed to the OP's request to help with the update.

Those of you that have issues with the other update not being freely available put your efforts into making a complete and accurate changes file rather than wasting your efforts on discussion which ultimately is fruitless.

Afaik you just have to put them onto your memory stick for your PSP, and next time you start up a new game it will have the changes.

Not 100% sure though, as I haven't used them before.
