    Robert, I'll be away over Christmas, so can I bid for my centre backs now? I don't want to miss out.

    Well I'm away over Christmas aswell so I was thinking of finishing off the goalkeepers and then posting the defenders while I am away until the new year Can still send you them if you are away then.

    Will this DB be released so we can play? And when?

    By the way, pick things up OrientMartin, Gordon and Heart? Atleast we'll have money to spend on the rest though.

    Plus he has the slight compensation in that even though he didn't choose those 2 keepers, he is the only one left to bid for a GK, so he can bid for anyone available at the min level and get them!

    He could get Christian Abbiati or Diego Lopez for 4/5m, cheap as chips

    Thats part of the "excitement" () of this, that you could either bid over the odds and get the best players possible in the first round or wait till the later round and buy players at a cheaper price.

    Yeah the results turnaround might not be quite as quick for this round!

    Good job I know how to use vlookup, should sort out a few things.

    Can I suggest that people make at min 3-4 bids per group, otherwise this could take quite a few rounds!

    Oh and if you don't send it in the correct format, I'm sending it right back at ya!!!

    * Pluckaduck
    * mikeytwigge
    * Ridleys

    ahh steve bould used to get about a thousand stickers of him for my sticker books and no one wanted to trade another player sticker for his sticker, could have had a whole draw dedicated to steve bould stickers

    Right, database is all up to date apart from the managers. One slight problem though, Adler wasn't removed from the list of players after the first round of bidding when corinthiano signed him. Sorry JSalter but can you pick a different goalkeeper instead.

    Thats the information you asked for mate, just getting my bids sorted now!

    In relation to the goalkeepers, as i'm the only one that can get another keeper. Can i just offer the value of a player and I will definitely get him?

    You're effectively the only person bidding for that player, so I would imagine if you offered the value of the player you would get him.

    You have to bid at least the his value.

    It ruined my plan of putting all the top players in one group, and then bidding £1 million for them.

    Why are the likes of Diarra, Bodmer and Digard classed as defenders?

    Additionally, would it be possible to sacrifice a striker for a defender?

    (I want 3 DCs, 2 DLs, 2 DRs and 1 of Diarra/Bodmer)

    I'm pretty sure they come up as defenders before midfielders on the game

    As Robert is in Barcelona at the moment you will have the pleasure of myself revealing the results and sorting out the 2nd round of bidding, which I can 99.99% predict is going to be needed!

    Results won't be published tonight, although I am most of the way through the list.

    One or two of you are going to have to go bargain basement hunting for midfielders and strikers though at this rate!!

    Yep He does have Diarra, which means he has a def / mid already though.

    At least he will have a decent defence though, to stop other people's good strikers getting the goals though!

    I was planning on playing Diarra in midfield, therefore I only need three midfielders and a couple of bargain basement players. I may even just get one good winger.

    I wasn't expecting to win both Ferdinand and Alves...

    I'm surprised I actually managed to get 6 defenders, not the best defence, but I'm staying within my strict budget. I'll get my bids sent off today hopefully

    I've probably spent a bit more than I should have, but hopefully this wont hinder the quality of my midfield (to be) and attack (to be).

    is the budget 120 or 150? If it's the former then SCIAG is screwed

    Outstanding, 9 players at 39 million pounds, that's an average of 4.33million per player. Set to make some big moves when it some's time to select a midfielder or a striker. KUTGW Robert and Well done WW in Robert's absence!

    Simple, I'll just spend £3m (or ideally less) on several players, giving me £7/8m to spend on starting players. Sure, I'll have no depth...

    I've got £7.3m per player from now on, it may soon be time for me to be a bit less conservative with my money

    If i get all my bids accepted this time, I'll have spent 58.25 million on 9 players @ 6.47 million each.

    So I've spent 29/75's of my budget on 5/11's of my squad.

    Can I just ask how you make a decision when two players bid the same for a player?

    For example, I noticed that Jagielka went to roberto922 for the same price as I bid - 5m.

    Not a criticism as I got 7 defenders and I'm rather happy with them - busy editing the FM database to see how good my squad is looking at moment.

    I think WW said that it was given to the person who bid first...

    Yup

    Robert said (I think back on page 1), that if 2 people make the same value bid for a player, the person who gave me their bids in the correct format first will win that player (assuming also that you have given that player the same priority level for a particular group).

    Allright then, thats cool. Thought it'd be that - couldn't see it on first page but I am shattered so thats why I missed it (thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)
