I didn't want to but he was going for 18m at age 21 and I know how good he is. I purchased just to stop them and was left with one defender too many. So, I selected my weakest from Agger, Fazio, Carragher, Dunn (wonderkid regen) and Micah Richards (choosing Agger of course as he was probably worth the most of the worse players). Offered around for 30m and Man city came in for 26.5m. Pretty sweet: bought one of the best defenders in the game for 18.5 and sold dead wood for 26.5m.
