I keep getting this message for WWSM on Steam. The game has worked before but I've never had to activate it so I'm not sure if that's the problem. I tried to make a shortcut on the desktop and that didn't work either. Can anybody help?

When I had the demo it did this to me when I wasn't on the internet. What I did is shift all of the program files over to C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009 and create a shortcut from there. Worked, and I could get rid of steam.

You don't need to move all the files - but launching the game direct from the exe should resolve this I believe?

Thanks for your help. I tried both suggestions but for some reason when I click shortcut my cpu spikes but nothing pops up. Is there anything else I could try
