Default If you still have activation issues (non phone) look here...

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING ONE OF THESE ISSUES – PLEASE READ

When I try to activate, it says I'm not connected to the internet / other activation problems
    OR
Error: You are receiving the Error ‘Product Key already Active’ message
    OR
I’m receiving the Error [-10] what can I do?
    OR
You are receiving a [-703] error: ‘We were unable to process your unlock request. To receive a new key please visit sigames.com’
    OR
You are receiving an Error [-821]
    OR
Error: You are receiving the Error [-51] / [-52] message
    OR
You receive the ‘Error: Application was unable to connect to the internet. Please check your connection.’
    OR
    You receive the ‘Error -10, -1, -703, 12029, 12007.’

What we see most of, is people with -10, -1, -703, 12029, 12007 errors, who are simply blocked from getting out on the internet with our activator. This has mostly been Vista Firewall - but there all sorts of reasons ranging from firewalls, to anti-virus to proxies servers, routers and more. In the most severe cases the only program with internet access has been IE or Firefox.

Therefore, we have created a disconnected Activator Fix. This fix will let you create a file, go to a website, upload the file, and then install a response file so that you can play the game without the game ever needing the internet. We hope this fixes the problem for most of you.

If you're having issues activating, then the most common fix can be found below. Follow the instructions exactly as written:

1 - First of all you need to turn on hidden files and folders.

    FOR XP:
Go to My Computer and at the top select 'Tools' then 'Folder Options'. The go to the 'View' tab and select 'Show hidden files and folders'
Delete your license file from the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009 Certificate

    FOR VISTA
Go to My Computer and at the top select 'Organize' then 'Folder and Search Options'. The go to the 'View' tab and select 'Show hidden files and folders'
Delete your license file from C:\ProgramData\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009 Certificate

Then try to boot the game again and enter code if requested.

If you are you still getting the errors you need to run our fix as instructed below:

    Please download the fix here:

    http://www.footballmanager.com/fixv3.zip

To use the fix, please do the following:

    1) Download the file to your desktop

    2) Unzip the contents of the file - You must unzip ALL of the files... (ActivatorDLL.dll, FootballManager2009.jpg and RunMe.exe)

    3) Click RunMe.exe

    4) Enter your license key under the panel that reads "Step 1"

    5) Press the "Save" button

    6) Save the "Request.txt" file to your desktop

    7) In Internet Explorer - go to http://keylookup.fm2009.softanchorin...eactivate.aspx - You may also click the link under the panel that says "Step 2"

    8) In the web page that you have opened, please use the "Browse" button to upload "Request.txt" to the server

    9) Press "Upload" and upload the file to the server

    10) The server will then ask you to save a file called "Response.txt"

    11) Save this file to your desktop

    12) Next, go back to the fix program. Under the panel that says "Step 3" press the "Load" button and then find Response.txt on your desktop, or wherever you saved it to in step 11, for Vista users the default is the ‘download’ folder in Users Documents, for XP users the default is typically the desktop.

    13) Once you have loaded the file - the application will tell you if you have been successful.

    14) If you are successful - Please start your game.

If after all this you still cannot run your game, please contact me directly at neil.brock[at]sigames.com and I'll try and help out.

    Thanks.

I am still recieving an error 821 when I use the new activation tool. When I enter the code (checked on softanchor keycheck link) it says "activation failed with error: -821. please make sure you use the correct key and try again"

    XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009 Certificate

    Vista:
    C:\ProgramData\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009 Certificate

And email to Errors at uniloc dot com

Still having trouble activating. it said it was because i couldn't connect to the internet. i've downloaded the Launcher and now everytime i try entering my code the following message comes up:
Activation failed with error: -1. Please make sure you use the correct key and try again.
I've installed all updates, disabled firewall through administrative tools like you said to do and it still comes up with the error 1 message!
    Any ideas?

    Hi all,

I was told to show my face in here, and here I am.

Is there any indication of how long the queue time is?

Basically I just want to know if I should just wait here because the fix is moments away, or should I go away and do something and come back x hours later?

OK, my system is an Athlon 2400, 2x1GB high-end DDR in dual-channel mode, 3-year-old Asus high-end mobo, almost a TB of storage across 2 IDE and 2 SATA drives, MOTU 828 Mk.1 rackmount audio interface, 1-year-old lower-midrange nVidia AGP graphics card, WinXP Home.

I have disabled Avast AV and have exited my personal firewall, Comodo.

I'm behind a Debian gateway server.

    Demo ran fine.

Other online games all seem to be fine, although I've had a similar problem with a Party Poker update for the last week that I am still yet to resolve, preventing me from playing there too. My other poker clients are all connecting fine still.

Any other info I could give you that might help?

I HAVE sent the email with the appropriate log file attached.

Uniloc are really on the case!

I got my reply almost straight away!

They've sent me FixV3 but that hasn't worked either.

I've sent them another email back with more details.

    Status update

All right now we are seeing less problems but there are still about 10-15 people that have two distinct problems. Microsoft is returning 2 errors when we try to get out onto the internet. You can sees these errors in your HttpCheck.log.

    The first is:

Failed to send request to server. 12029

This error code means the request to our server is being blocked by "something". In some cases this has been the Vista firewall, in other cases it's something out on the network. We're working on a solution that will allow you activate without using a direct connection by the activator.

    The second is:

Failed to send request to server. 12007

This error code means the your DNS cannot find our servers. Still working on that - but if you can see http://fm2009.sa01.softanchorinsight.com in a browser then the solution outlined above will work for you. Please give us a few more minutes to finalize.

Right... I just got my 3rd email reply, asking if I'm on Virgin cable for internet.

    Yes I am.

Anyone else here having problems also on Virgin Media cable?

Bloody Virgin. I'm also getting a connection speed of less than half the speed I'm paying for.

Ok - I have had to delete some posts - despite my warnings above...

FixV4 is not officially released yet - we are still working on it - so please be patient.

If you have a -1 error - please do as the thread says - send your logfile to errors@unilocusa.com - you will be seen to and as you can see we have been getting good resolution results.

Please do not post unless it is to say - I am having problems and have sent the mail to Uniloc.

Literally, anything else will be deleted by me. We need to keep a tightly controlled thread.

    Regards,

    Murray

Does it have to be sent to errors@unilocusa.com or errors@uniloc.com because for some reason i sent my log to the latter last night after i was sure thats what i read here, but now its different. Ive sent it to the former as well just in case but I seem to be a little confused

    Hi guys - errors@unlilocusa.com

Ok - all emails 'will' be answered - the timezone is different, so you won't receive an answer until tonight. We are confident the v4 fix will work. At present it's unofficial - if some of you are desperate to try and realise it's nots a finished release - PM me with your email address and I'll send.

For those wanting to wait for the 'official' release - should be around 21:00 GMT (latest).

    Regards,

    Murray

Activation failed with error: -1. Please make sure you use the correct key and try again. This is what I am getting - tried everything that has been advised - now getting very 'fed up'. Have tried the helpline number - continuously engaged or no reply THEN when I did get a reply I waited for the operator for ages so I hung up.

Have had this game 3 days and have spent hours and hours trying to activate - 4 times by phone.

Devine intervention is now required - or a full refund!

FROM MUZCHAP - REPLIED VIA PM

    Please respond.

Version 3 will not fix your problem if version 2 did not.

    It's not a crack....

Just getting "Activating key with Steam"

MOD: - I have deleted your offensive language. Please PM me and I will assist. Obviously, you have some kind of firewall or restriction blocking the inbound communication back from the license server.

this really isnt fair. had the game for 24 hours now and still cant activate it. all solutions being offered have been useless. i know people who have downloaded the game via torrents and they have had no problem without the need to use a service which clearly does not work. I've paid almost £30 for a 24 hour & counting nightmare

Hi all - the v4 fix is being tested on people as we speak - some are having success - others are not.

Please be patient - there are some machines refusing to cooperate - we will get there.

ok, guys i have a solution i have been constantly trying by internet 2 activate it but with no success, i recommend u do wot i did, i disconnected my internet (pull the cable out) and i loaded the game up, when the activation screen loads, choose 2 activate by phone, choose ur country and it gives u the number 2 ring, ring this and follow the automated voice, its very long winded lasts between 5-10mins of typing letters and numbers in, and cost me about £1 in credit from my mobile, but i tell u it is worth it, after 10mins i completed the typing and my product is activated and im playing FM2009!!!!! its worth the time and money guys try it what is 10mins of ur time wen u can have many happy hours on this brill game. im one happy chap now

Where did you get it from? Did they send it to your e-mail, because I haven’t got any respond yet! Great to hear, I am looking so much forward to play that game. And do you use vista or xp?

none of these fix's seem to solve the problem if you need the internet to work them. what do the people do that dont have the internet on their desktop? seems to be that no1 has solved the fact of the activation screen repeatedly coming up even though it has been successfully activated threw phone!

has anyone solved this problem themselves or using some of these fix's?

I'm still trying getting this game to work (since friday). Trust me SI when I tell you that this is getting the most aggravating CM/FM ever!

    Okay then...
Tried re-installing it in the hope of it "may" work. But now I'm back where I've started monday... waiting for a reaction from Steam. Have a look at the screenie:

Slippers - please use v6 - it does work! You can even the copy the Request.txt file onto somebody else's computer to upload, then take the Response.txt from their computer - load into yours and Activated - no phone call needed.

What we see most of the people with -10, -1, -703, 12029, 12007 are simply blocked from getting out on the internet with our activator. This has mostly been Vista Firewall - but there all sorts of reasons ranging from firewalls, to anti-virus to proxies servers, routers and more. In the most severe cases the only program that has internet access has been IE or Firefox.

So - we have created for you a disconnected Activator Fix. This fix will let you create a file, go to a website, upload the file, and then install a response file so that you can play the game without the game ever needing the internet. We hope this fixes the problem for most of you.

Note this is NOT official from SiGames yet - so the file isn't signed etc. But it should allow most of you to give it a try before it becomes an official fix. Please give it a spin.

    Please download the fix here:

    http://redsky.uniloc.com/FM2009/FixV6.zip

To use the fix do the following:

    1) Download the file to your desktop

    2) Unzip the contents of the file - You must unzip ALL of the files...

    8) Next, the web page you opened: use the "Browse" button to upload "Request.txt" to the server

    9) Press "Upload" and upload the file to the server

    10) The server will then ask you to save a file called "Response.txt"

    11) Save this file to your desktop

    12) Next, go back to the fix program. Under the panel that says "Step 3" press the "Load" button and then find Response.txt on your desktop

    13) Once you load the file - the application will tell you if you have been successful.

    14) If you are successful - start you game.

    15) If you are not successful - please email us the error code at errors@uniloc.com and we will continue to try and help you.
Can I use your guide/fix when installing or re-installing the game?

    Ticketnr.?

I've tried asking my problem on Steam's board. But I'm still on:

I keep getting the problem error -821.
I've downloaded the fix and checked http://keylookup.fm2009.softanchorinsight.com/
And I start the Launcher and insert the key.
    Then it will say
"Activation failed with error: -819. Please make sure you use the correct key and try again."

Application error? That means the game is activated... Please post in the technical section - this is only to fix Activation errors.

V8 of the Update has been posted to the URL in post 1 - yes I know the link still says v3 - but it's actually v8 - so many other threads are linking to the download url - we thought it best not to change.

This means your game is activated - the FM.EXE crashing is a technical issue with the game - please post in the bug forum

I'm still having problems with the activation key, the website http://keylookup.fm2009.softanchorinsight.com/ says

"You may have trouble deciphering some characters in the license key on your Football Manager 2009 packaging. Characters O and 0 as well I and 1 are printed in a very similar manner. To help with this – enter your key below and the system will determine if you have made a mistake and display the correct key below. From here COPY (Ctrl-C) the key and PASTE (Ctrl-V) the key into the Activation Dialog."

But when i make a mistake, it doesn't display the correct key, it remains the same, incorrect version that I typed in.

Jako - some internet connections are blocking the activator. To get around this - download: http://www.footballmanager.com/fixv3.zip and follow the instructions in the first post (at the top).

If you have any trouble, or need help email error@uniloc.com.

Even with Steam you're using Uniloc as well. In what dialog do you see the message? Could you email me a screen grab at: errors@uniloc.com. We'll help you sort it out.

Gregiboy - Can you email the files that were created by FixV8 to error@uniloc.com?

    OR
    You receive the ‘Error -10, -1, -703, 12029, 12007.’

    Please download the fix here:

http://www.footballmanager.com/fixv3.zip this is v8.0 - we haven't changed the url as other posts are linking

    15) If you are not successful - please email us the error code at errors@uniloc.com and we will continue to try and help you.

Thank you for your continued patience

    Default Still having problems

Hi, I know there seems to be a lot of different problems at the moment. I was wondering if anyone knows the best solution to my problem with football manager 2009. I have started about 3 different leagues, and within the first few games it comes up with saying there is an error on a blue screen, and then restarts the whole computer. How can i fix this.

    Many thanks for any help
