    Neppo's FM09 - Youth Player Project

Youth Player Project - FM08's Illustrious Thread.

Every year we get a new batch of youth players, and the Ass Man singles out the best one of them. (I'm assuming they have the best P.A of the group.)

My aim is to take this player, give them some first team football, and track their career, be it at Real London, or should they move on. Each season I will add a new player to the reports, (naturally) and just think it could be fun, interesting and informative of what happens with them.

    Thread Rules :

There are no real "rules" - as this is a supplementary challenge, and can be run along side many, or even ANY of the other challenges in the forum, but I will ask that participants provide as many screen shots as possible. Day 1 of the players career and end of season screenshots, with small reports are what I opt for, but you can provide as many, or few as you wish. There is no limit to this challenge, nor is there a finishing post. You may come and go as you wish, and do not have to follow my example with taking a player every season. Should you wish, you could take on the player every 2, 5, 10 or even 50 seasons if you choose.

The most important thing is that you're enjoying and are dedicated to the challenge. And that you have fun.

Of course, the mandatory house rules, still apply within this thread.

Seasons marked with a "*" indicate the player was only on loan for that season

If other wish to use this, or a similar method to denote which seasons the player spent away from the club for a season, be my guest.

Nice to see this up and running so quickly Nep, well played.

I'm into my first game in Brazil, so I'm expecting so great players at the end of my first season.

Good to see this up, I'll be trying this with Everton I think (getting the game in around an hour). Out of interest, can I start this off with Shane Duffy who is currently in the Everton U-18s IRL? he's one of our better talents and I'll be playing him anyway as I want to see how I do playing with a really young side.

Nep, should I post my FM08 Rizhiquan youths on this thread or the old thread?

And when will the first class be inducted into the HOF?

roberto922 - I'd prefer if it was genuine regens in the game, rather than players already in the game.
rancer890 - A member of the FM08 thread asked the same question, and I don't see any reason to keep a potentially dead thread alive with just a couple of posters over letting them post in here. So yea, FM08 updates are very welcome in here.

As for the HoF - depending on the posters and the activity this thread generates, I'll start inducting potential Hall of Famers in the coming weeks, and then devise a panel of judges as to who actually gets in. I'm going to set some strict criteria for the HoF'ers, all though one-off additions will be accepted. All will be explained eventually

Thanks to everyone taking part again. It was a very interesting thread for FM08, lets make this one bigger and better.

Crooks looks like a good player. Hope you keep him for a long time.

Don't worry, I had the same reaction when Lijia scored his first goal.

I checked on the website for the distributor here in Turkey and it seems FM09 won't go on sale until next Tuesday (I'm not even sure about that as there is no pre-order option available...) so my Blsany save will go on for now. I have another season completed so I think I'll just focus on those Prodigies who are currently in the first team in this thread. My aim is to get one of them inducted into the Hall Of Fame!

Thinking about the HoF, will John Adams still be the initial inductee Nep?

Figured I'll try and give some of my youngsters a chance in this years Dafuge's Challenge.

My first entry at FC United is Neil Swift who can play anywhere down the left - he can only run and take throws at the moment but my assistant raves about him.

Will be doing this as I compete in canvey!!'s alphabet challenge -

    Year 1 -

Player 1 - John Hunter, DC - AFC Wimbledon

    Initial profile

He's got the potential to be one of the best players at the club imo, and he will definitely feature this season even at such a tender age (presumably i'm allowed to play 15 year olds in the BSP)

if you mean PA then I don't know because I don't have a data editor for FM09 yet, the assistant says he could be a key player for a League 2 side, which is promising.

michaelmurrayuk - Keep getting internal Server Error on Swift

PH'man - Hunter looks real decent. Great physically, and has some decent attributes in other key defensive areas. 9 in tackling @ 15 years old, pretty good. Cold potentially hit 15-18 in his prime. Good luck with him

Hmmm, after having a re-think, I'll do the same. Time to let Jurcik, Ptacek and Vaclavik go and see if I can get some even better ones in FM 09!

It might be a while before I start introducing prtogees to this thread as: A) I haven't got the game yet; and B) I plan to do a couple of shorter term challenges to get to grips with the game first before tackling either Gundo's or San Marino, which the players will come from (that way I get full control over their development ).

I'll still chip in my two cents on everyone else's players though

Hello there, I'm still on 07 but since this is the first new game I've started in a long while, I'll be throwing my youth projects in here.

    Regen 1

    2007 - Djurgarden - Kent Andren, GK

    Initial profile

A bit disappointingly, my first project is a goalkeeper. Not ideal for gaining early first team experience, will probably just see youth team football this year. The AssMan said he's one of the most gifted players he's seen come thorugh the youth ranks in recent years.

I'm doing the San Marino challenge which I assume Ter will be posting soon, but here is the first regen:
    Regen 1

2009 - San Marino Calcio - Emanuele Urbinati, AMR

    Initial profile

He's already been capped for San Marino (I'm the manager admittedly) and is easily the best AMR at the club, with the potential to be good enough for Serie B, hopefully he'll be in my first team for a few years. Nice to see a decent pace for a regen too. His first cap ended well too, he set up a goal for Manuel Marani in our 2-1 win over Slovenia (more in the challenge thread). High hopes for this fella.

I introduce the first Youth Project for Red Star 93 - Pierre Lutz.

    Pierre Lutz

As my new youth players were already at the club when i took over, i have selected the player most highly rated by my Ass Man. my Ass Man believes that Pierre has the potential to be a star at National level (our current level). it is unlikely he will get much game time this season due to his tender age, but i have high hopes he may develop into an important player for the club.

Right, I've been wanting to do this for a while. Unfortunately I never start playing with a lower league team until I've spent a little time learning the game with a decent team.

But I'm not going to let that stop me so meet Matt Eastwood

He's just come through the youth ranks at the start of my second season at Man City, and the coach thinks he has the potential to be one of the most gifted players to ever come through the youth ranks.

His Coach Report shows just how highly he rates him.

rancer - great season form Jinhui. I bet you are dreaming of him scoring the winner in the AFC Final

rlipscombe - Lutz looks good for the level. High influnece too - a future captain perhaps?

chopper 99 - Eastwood has got great physical attributes (strength and jumping aside). Hopefully that's a sign that SI have addressed some of the issues with regens this time.

DodgeeD, we have to reach the Final first.

Lijia is currently back to his old self, without having a major effect on Jinhui.

That's just what I was thinking.

I'm going to try and bring him through the ranks as best I can in the hope that he becomes my first regen for ages to have excellent physical stats. I'm also hoping to get him to wonderkid status and into the first team before he's 20. I found this almost impossible to dio in '08 as regens all started with very low PA's and it wasn't until they were around 23-24 that they were good enough to break into the first team of a decent club.

Hopefully this thread will help confirm whether the regens have been fixed in the way that we all hope they have.

    Year 2 -

Player 1 - John Hunter, DC - AFC Wimbledon

    Initial profile
    End of first Season

In my last season at AFC Wimbledon the (very) young central defender became a constant regular in the first team as he was one of, if not the best central defender we had in the squad. He did very well playing in a Blue Square Premier defense, and although my assistants first impression was that he would be a key player for a League 2 side, I think he could potentially play higher level football than that.

I resigned from AFC Wimbledon on May 25th so wasn't there for the next player, so when/if I get a new job I will have to wait until the end of my third season in the game to post another new Youth Player Project person.

    2007 - Djurgarden - Kent Andren, GK

    Initial profile
    End of 2008 profile

Kent Andren’s start to the under 18 season wasn’t very impressive, letting in at least two goals a game for his first five matches, but luckily his form improved and helped his side win the under 18 league. Near the end of the season he kept three clean sheets in a row.

    2008 - Djurgarden - Per Svensson, DC

Per Svensson was picked out as the best player by the AssMan this year. Quite a lot of 1 and 2 attributes at the moment. Decent starting defensive stats though.

An unusual player to come through position wise. Also weirdly he came through at the same time as another player who is a DLC,WBL,DM,MC but that player isn't going to be good.

There you go for this year. Does the coding look ok as its the first time I've had a go at it.

http://img517.imageshack.us/my.php?i...binati2lm9.jpg-His current profile at the end of his first season, not fantastic development but he played well, and has made decent contributions on the international scene. Finished the season with an average rating of 7.06

    Career Stats:

    Appearances: 25
    Goals: 0
    Assists: 6
    Intern'l Caps: 3
    Intern'l Goals:0

    Filippo Renzi

The second youth project, not as high a starting ability compared with Urbinati, but looks to have decent potential. Not likely to make many starts this season but should make a few sub appearances. I may bring him into the international squad also.

Des Tiny's AD Fafe Youth Update

I am playing JoseRR's Challenge based in Portugal

I shall pick two players each season, in the first season they are likely to feature from my bench for a few games each season, and hopefully get a start or two as well as playing in my Under 19s. In the second season they will either go on loan to my feeder club Imortal or they will feature strongly in my seniors. The first player each season will be my Ass Man's suggestion and the other one will be the one of my choice. So lets meet the class of 2010.

    Player 1a - Vitor Henriques - POR - AMC

    July 2010

I've just had 2 great players come through my academy, so I thought I'd track them here! I'm in the Blue Square Premier with Ramsgate, my assistant reckons both are good league 1 players already

Potentially, imo. The only problem is, the training facilities won't be good for him yet, and if he starts putting in great performances on a consistent basis, Jazz could have trouble keeping hold of him. I hope not though.

But with him scoring the goals he's capable of Jazz should go through the promotions quite quickly so hopefully he could possibly keep up with his ambition, of course he could hit the jackpot and have a fiercely loyal, unambitious youth prodigy he'll be sorted really.

Yea, thats always something I guess. If he did get those two personality traits, I'm calling cheat (Just kidding, Jazz).

That was one of the best things I had with Paul Wallace and Andrew Smylie. They were both loyal, and both lacked ambition. \o/

Nope. In the 5 seasons he played for me, he reached about 700 goals. I'm 100% certain had I seen out his career, he would've topped 2,000.

I'm in my 3rd season of a career file I've got going, and I'm managing Scottish Second Division side Cowdenbeath. Finally I have the chance to start this, shame the players I will get through the ranks won't be too good, but hoping for the best

    Here's the first batch:

    Douglas Cunningham: http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...Cunningham.png
    Brian Thomson: http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...ianThomson.png
    Tommy Craig: http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...TommyCraig.png

Out of those 3, Brian Thomson was most highly rated, and I don't think his stats are too bad. Well, wish me luck

    Season 3:

    Emanuele Urbinati

He did quite well again this season, making quite a few appearances and grabbing a few assists. Yet to score his first club goal but managed to grab his first international goal in the 6-2 defeat by Bulgaria

    http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w.../Urbinati1.jpg-Initial Profile
http://img517.imageshack.us/my.php?i...binati2lm9.jpg-His profile at the end of his first season
http://img61.imageshack.us/my.php?im...binati3cv8.jpg Urbinati, 2 seasons in. He is over 10 caps now and is the firm first choice right winger for San Marino. He has made some improvements in his crossing and dribbling. His pace has dropped slightly but he's still pretty rapid.

    Filippo Renzi

Made 19 first team appearances all told this season, and scored 1 beauty of a goal, a curler from the edge of the box. He has also made it onto the international scene, making his only appearance to date against Bulgaria in a friendly. He may play more next season as I feel he is progressing well, although he is a little inconsistent.

    http://img134.imageshack.us/my.php?image=renzi1ji7.jpg Initial Profile
    http://img217.imageshack.us/my.php?image=renzi2rs4.jpg After 1 season

His technical stats have seen some improvement, as have some of his mental stats, which is understandable sonsidering his first team experience this season. He still has a long way to go to displace Marani or Vanucci in the international side, but Vanucci is getting old so there could be a few more caps next season.

    Alessandro Ceccoli

A 15 year old with the potential to become a leading Serie B player. He turns 16 before the season starts so he'll be eligible for our games. He gives Renzi more competition for a CM spot but I imagine he'll get a few games at least. His stats already look decent for a 16 year old. International appearances may be out of the question as he is so young, but we'll have to see.

Scout says he has the potential to be a good Ligue 1 CB in the future. I've got very high-hopes for the youngster.

I know it's in the mid-season but it's the earliest screenie I have.

    Yohann Iriart

    Initial Profile

This kid will probably be my first-choice left-back next season. Scout says leading Ligue 2 left-back.

kroubles - Urbinati looks quite talented. Ceccoli, for a 15 year old San Marinese player has brilliant attributes. How do you get them players

Benjaminoo - Its a shame Angeli's technical attributes are that poor. If they were half decent, he'd potentially be world class. As for Iriart, he looks like he could be awesome.

I have no idea The youth facilities haven't been upgraded at all, the only thing I can think of is that the national team's ranking is around 140 instead of 200. I don't know if that has an effect though. In fact I've bought in another 19 year old Sanmarinese striker who is good enough for Serie B, and there is another youth player who could be good enough for Serie C1. I don't know how it happens, but there are some Swiss-Sanmarinese regens coming through at random Swiss clubs.

Angeli kinda reminds me of Zhu Jinhui, who also had below average technical attributes at the start. No worries Benjaminoo (and Nep ), he'll do fine. (Jinhui is now starting to get interest from a European team, Dutch side Feyenoord . I'm not letting him go anywhere!)

How high are the bids (not telling you to sell him)?
And Jinhui will become one hell of a player!

Jinhui's bids are around US$2.5-$3 million (he's valued at $2.9 million atm) from Chinese Super League clubs. Feyenoord's offer is just a loan offer.

Jinhui (7 star) and Lijia (5 star) are both considered 'leading stars' for most Chinese Super League sides. There's no threat from other teams about enquiring Lijia's availability. No one is interested in him. He will stay in a Rizhiquan shirt as long as I keep re-signing him.

I hope to get a Rizhiquan youth player update in over the weekend.

Criteria. Depends on the position, and the club in question. For example..... You've go a ST in the Prem who's scored 400+ Career goals. He's in. You've got a Striker in N. Ireland who scores 400+ Career goals. He's not. You're a Chinese club consistently winning titles, and your Central Defender has player nearly 500 career games for the club (Cup and League) - and has a good average rating. He's in.

There's just so many variables, that I can't actually specify a certain "Criteria". Basically, when I assume a new panel (Which will be myself + only 2 other members) - The panel will come to me with suggestions and reasons regarding a player, and then I'll make the final decision. I don't want the HoF to become an "anyone can enter" kind of thing. I genuinely want it to be regarded on CSE as a prestigious honor to have a player inducted. 1 definite criteria will be if a player stays at a club his entire career.

As for the Panel, I'll select the 2 lucky forumites in the next week or so.

So yea, work hard with your young players, and hopefully you'll get them into the HoF

So, I've got my first batch......

Youth Project 1 - Jason Leonard, Striker.

    Jason Leonard - Initial Profile

    D.O.B - 16.9.1993
    Joined Carshalton - 25.6.2010
    Left Carshalton - TBA.

    PPM's - None
    Left Foot - Reasonable
    Right Foot - Very Strong

Jason Leonard Information - So, Mr. Leonard is the first player who my (terrible, terrible) Ass Man has singled out to me. He's a pacey Striker, who is good enough to play with both feet. I'm very impressed with his physical stats at such a young age, but technically and mentally he's really lacking, so I'll look to train him specifically in those areas. I can actually see Leonard playing a vital role for me next season, and he's already my 2nd best striker, according to my Scout. He is fast, so that will suit my tactic, but his lack of composure, and shoddy finishing, could cost the team dearly. Apparently, he has the potential to become a "Leading Blue Square Premier Striker in the future", which isn't great, but considering I'm in the BSS, is good enough.

(Hopefully not the rugby player - Jason Leonard )

Not decided yet. There's a few in the mix, but I need someone reliable, heavily involved in the thread, and mature in their decisions. The panel can be expanded at any time, and if I feel the need to add more members to it, I will.

I'll be keeping an eye on this. It looks like good fun. Never really got involved in the challeneges forum until the back end of 08 so didnt really see this last year. Hopefully i'll give it a go when i've finished my first season. I do have a small, niggling doubt though - I usually play LLM games on FM, but being a Leeds fan I have to start my first game as them. Due to this do you reckon that following a youth player coming from Leeds' ranks will not be as good?

    I'm probably wrong.

Following a youth player from any club is exciting. It really attaches you to the player, and in turn the save game, because you've got genuine reason to go back and finish seasons and careers when you may previously have restarted a game. I can't tell you how hard it was to leave my AFC Wimbledon save after losing 2 seasons worth of game, but I just couldn't face up to replaying the youth players seasons out again. Now with my new game, and my new youth player, I've got soo many new things I've learned that I can do with them, that it should make for a great game.

My main aim of this years YPP, is to field a Cup Final winning team made entirely of my youth projects.

FC United - Youth Player Project - 2009/10 - Season One

    Player One: Neil Swift

End of Season Profile - He didn't really develop at all, his first team chances were limited aswell due to the strength of my left hand side, and was limited to cup appearances really, hopefully now he's on a full time contract and I have some better (3/4 star) coaches he can start developing, also got to decide whether to loan him out or not next season, as he is my second choice left back.

    Code:
Season Club League Games Goals Assists MOM Ratings
    09/10 FCUTD BSN 13(6) 0 2 0 6.85
Player Two: Danny Perkins - a DRC is the best of my second season youth players, he has a 4star potential, so not as good as Swift, but his current ability is better, and I'll try and give him some cup games this season.

I assume that Swift's assist came from a long throw michael?
