    Thanks.

Any where above 10th would be fantastic for me considering last season but at the moment we look unstoppable (touch wood).

Anyone above Hyde can get into the play-offs and the rest of the season is going to be incredibly tight and exciting.

Good luck in your JP game aswell

If you keep on form who knows you could end up challenging for the title. That may be a bit ambitious though.

Thanks as well. I think I should have Derby sewn up in the home leg and if i get knocked out I dont deserve to be in the final but it would be great to get a trip to Wemberly

Got a big game against 4th placed FC United now so am nervous about that one. Title could be a bit ambitious but who knows eh?

Stranger things have happened than you going on to win the title.

Good luck against FC United. I hope you lose...... I mean win

I guess, a team can always come from no where to win it (Sunderland two years ago in the CCC)

    will keep you updated.

I did it last year in League 2. I came from 12 points behind or something like that and went on to win the league by 11 points. That was after 28 games so I had more time but there is still a long way to go in your league

Plenty of time to pull a miracle, but I don't think I can keep this form up for ever.

    My FC United past record is: Played - 5, Won - 2, Drawn - 1, Lost - 2.

All the components seem set for a big game.

edit: Oh man, my top scorer got injured the day before the game and will be out for 2 weeks with a 'damaged heel'.

Are you playing at home or away?

losing your top goalscorer is a blow a big blow but im sure you have a decent back up.

It is a very even record you have so it is a going towards a tight game with one goal winning it. I will go for 2-1 too you

    I am playing at home,

I have a half-decent back up player in Theo Lewis but he won't be as effective as Liam Hubbuck has been.

Has been a very tight game so far and, at half time, I am 1-0 up with my scorer being that legend Simon Britton! Your prediction could yet be right. The 'Liverpool system' is working wonders for me with Simon Britton my 'Gerrard' and is doing the business.

I tried the Liverpool System but my version did not work so I changed to a different tactic.

It is good to see you winning. I hope I get my prediction right but at the same time I hope you dont concede as anything could happen if you do

I based it on simplicity and it results in a tight defence but an effective four-pronged attack.

I will post up the match stats if you are interested at the end of the game?

If you dont mind putting them up

When I had mine I had a brilliant defence but I hardly ever seemed to score and when I did it would only be the one goal. It worked well for a while but when I started conceding it stopped working.

    Here they are

An 88th minute equaliser by Neal Gill stopped us winning but, due to Worcester losing, I am in second place and FC United are in third.

Looks like they dominated that game. At least you moved up a place.

Looking at those stats I think you need to get people who can cross the ball or someone who can get on the end of it 8% is pretty poor

Yes, I can tell my forward is missing and, to be honest, my AMC (Simon Britton) didn't get far enough forward. I was disappointed with the performance but chose 'sympathise' to keep all my player's morale at 'superb'.

I've literally spent about 10 hours searching for players for my league two season and have so far signed the grand total of 2 'decent league 2 player" This is harder than I imagined.

If I were you, I would turn off the 'rule out unrealistic targets' as the Assistant Manager often takes players out of the equation who want to sign.

Just started this. Was trying to hold out for Marine but have settled on Hitchin in the south as I got tired at around 1:15 this morning

(I got carried away and forgot to screen print on 25th June.... Can I still play )

Hoping that in FM10 I can get to play as the mighty Colwyn Bay. Massive win yesterday to put us into a guaranteed playoff spot! Yay!

I've had Bradford and Blackburn as parent clubs, and they've both been pretty rubbish. I got better loans when I had neither!

First few seasons you can get some absolute legends off them. Dennis Craig, Daniel Drinkwater, Oliver Norwood and Ben Amos are all in my all-time best 11.

Im having a complete shocker to the start of the season... 5 points from the first 7 games and out of 2 cup competitions in the 1st round.

Well with 1 game to go, can Canvey Island secure a play-off position in their first season in the Coca-Cola Championship?

    League Table

    Fixtures:
    Leeds vs Canvey Island
    Plymouth vs Sheff Utd

    PRE-MATCH NEWS:
Leeds are without the suspended Ben Tozer, whilst Martin Cranie and Jonny Howson are injured
Canvey Island are without Tom Webb and Godfrey Dawson, but Jacopo Sala should return to the starting line-up

    Previous Meeting in League:
    Canvey Island 0-0 Leeds
    ------------------------------------------------------
4 Mins: Plymouth 0-1 Sheff Utd (James)
33 Mins: Plymouth 0-2 Sheff Utd (Best)
34 Mins: Leeds 0-1 CANVEY ISLAND (Head)

HALF TIME: At this moment, Sheffield United are going up by a single goal, but there is no sign of changes on the Gulls bench at this moment.

61 Mins: Attacking changes here as DM Sam Togwell is replaced by exciting RM Manuel Rebocho
70 Mins: John Hartley is stretched off, replaced by Jacopo Sciamanna
77 Mins: Leeds 0-2 CANVEY ISLAND (Head) - The Gulls are in the play-offs as it stands on goals scored
90+2 Mins: Plymouth (Hooper) 1-2 Sheff Utd

FULL TIME: Canvey Island have secured a play-off spot in their 1st season in the CCC

    Leicester now await...

    Canvey Island - 2014/15 Report - CCC

    League
With media predictions of 24th position, again, all I was focused on this season was survival. That looked the case as we went on a 11 match run without a win around the Christmas period, leaving us just above the relegation zone. However, after the manic rush that is the January transfer window, our form stabilized and picking up crucial home wins against the top teams, which lead to a very surprising 6th place finish and into the play-offs.

Play-off Leg 1 - This was the final game at the no legendary Park Lane, with us moving into Canvey Island Stadium at the start of next season, and a fantastic free-kick sent us into the 2nd leg in the lead

Play-off Leg 2 - To be honest, we really should have have been knocked out by half-time here, but after the break; we were well on top and I was annoyed that it required a comeback in extra time to get through to the final.

Play-off Final - We had a good record vs Wolves during the season, knocked them out of the League Cup and won away at Molineux, but the final was a real disappointment. We were never in the game apart from a 5 minute spell after our goal, but overall didn't deserve to win the game

    Cups
FA Cup - 3rd Round vs Manchester City Playing 3rd in the EPL at the time in a middle of a bad run was never going to be a good recipe for success. And so it proved with us being dominated from start to finish.

League Cup - 4th Round vs Everton After progressing past Oxford, Wolves and Leeds without conceding a single goal, there was confidence in creating an upset, and looking at the stats we deserved to get one too. However, bad marking from set-plays led to both Everton goals and ultimately they could have scored more from similar positions.

    Squad and Transfers
When will I be able to hold onto great talent for more than 18 months? 3 summer signings leaving in January is also got annoying, especially as I had fought off competition to get them in the 1st place. The lack of quality in the free agent pool is worrying as I can only really attract EPL back-ups and lower league players during transfer windows.

    Finances and Overview
Selling players for high fees, plus full houses every game now keeps the balance rising and rising, even though the board are building a new stadium Staying way under my wage budget helped improve matters too.

    Targets From Last Season
    • Survive - SUCCESS
    • Get past the 1st round of League Cup - SUCCESS
    • Keep as much as my current team as possible - SUCCESS of some sort - need to keep players for a longer period than 18 months
    • DON'T GET PROMOTED - SUCCESS - just

    Targets For Next Season
    • Survive
    • Have a decent cup run
    • Keep as much as my current team as possible and improve depth as most fringe players are still CCL1/2 standard

    History
    2009/10 - BSS: 6th

Currently doing pretty well partway through the first season.
I didn't make a huge amount of transfers but I brought in enough quality to see me through the season.
I am currently sitting 2 points off the top of the table with only 2 games to go, got knocked out of the FA cup in a first round replay against Dagenham & Redbridge and am still in every other cup.
The players I brought in were not great but I did manage to capture an absolute gem about a week ago.

    I AM PROMOTED!!!!! AS CHAMPIONS!!!!

Finished my first season today as Guiseley and I cruised it. Won the league by around 10 points, which was superb

My star player for the year was Tom Elliott who scored 35 goals during the season. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get him back for my first BSP season.

I will post an end of season update tomorrow, including screenshots.

Can I have requests for screenshots, and what every wants to see?

EDIT: I see every stopped posting for the liverpool - chelsea match, it was a cracker

Thanks, it really was a great first season.

It was mainly down to me going 25 games un-beaten and only losing that record on the last game of the season.

Plus, have you got any requests for screenshots?

    Congrats on your 1st season.

Just the usual screenshots will do; squad, table, finances, cup runs if you had any

Has anyone got a save upload of FC United and if it is in here somewhere (it will take me ages to go through 130 pages) can someone point out where it is?

Nice to have you, Almondo. Are you hoping for any team in particular? Good luck

Thanks midgetram, I had some minor sucess in the cups which provided a bit of cash but I didn't go very far in them.

I might have a save which was saved the day before the teams come in but it might not have the edt on it.

I can re-load a few times for you and get FC United, if you like?

Well, this is now irrelevent, as you have the save from minisav

Up the Guiseley BSP, you better be ready!

The edt file is a file which includes all of the English players from the lower, lower leagues so, that you don't have to load all the english players, as they are automatically included.

PS - You can call me Rob

For 1st couple of seasons, just look at free transfers and who your Assistant recommends, they're usually of decent quality. Getting a high profile parent club can really help as well

    Hitchin Town - Pre-season

Just about to start the season with Hitchin Town. I was really worried at one point having gone three friendlies without a goal. Then I dove head first into the transfer market to get a decent AssMan. A total rebuild of the squad followed, heavily influenced by the new guy. Ryan Carolan looks to be a real gem.

    Transfers

Signed a total of 12 players, with only one of these already agreed before i joined. Some of the weaker players had to go and Barnes was already jumping ship before I arrived. No real loss as his only stat over 8 was aggression at 16

With the exodus and the second coming over I am left with 18 quid change from my 3.41k/week budget.

The remaining three friendlies went better, with a 2-0 win over Maidenhead and draws against Stafford and Team Bath

Well, onto the season now and holding on to hopes of a top half finish. Maybe with some luck and tweaking of tactics I can make the playoffs.

Gloucester 2020/2021 Season Update - EPL - Marky Mark!

    2009/10 - 10/11: BSS
    2011/12 - 13/14: BSP, FA Trophy Runner Up x 2
    2014/15: League 2, JPT Winners
    2015/16: League 1, JPT Winners
    2016/17 - 19/20: Championship
    2020/21: Premiership

After finally getting promoted from the Championship, I was expecting a real struggle in the Premiership, but it wasn't the case early on, and after 8 games I was top of the table, having only dropped 1 game. Unfortunatly a few key injuries, including an 8 month knee injury to my "wonderkid" put a stop to that, and sent me down to 8th by Christmas. The 2nd half of the season I was hovering around 4-5th for most of it, before dropping off to finish 6th. Still qualifed for Europa Cup, which is a great achievment, but missed out on 4th place and CL (although as Arenal won the CL from 5th, only the top 3 got CL spots). So I guess I'll have a minimum of another 2 seasons before I can complete this challenge!

    2021 League Table

Whilst I did spend $29.5M (AUD) in transfer, and received $27M, the squad actually didn't change that much, a couple of decent players here and there added, but no real superstar, so I can't see why the team that struggled so long in the championship did so well in their first season in the Premiership, but it was probably due to my 2 star strikers, who I picked up last season as rotation players, but are now both first team regulars:

23 yr old Emmanuel Ebongue - Already a cameroon international, and top goal scorer with 17 in 39, with the potential to become a good premiership striker (coach report)

20 year old James Brazier - Only played 15 games due to injury, but managed 8 goals, 3 assits, and 4 MOM, and has been declared a "wonderkid". Coach thinks he is already best player in the squad, with potential to be leading premiership player, he also has no real weakness, and relishes the big matches. All of this and I got him for free in a straight player swap.

If I can keep the above two in my team for years to come then the sky is the limit!

Finances wise, I started $20M or so in the red due to my stadium expansion, but by the end of the season ended up $53M in the black, a profit of around $70M in one season, not too bad I think! This has left me with a transfer budget of around $100M for the new season!

    2021 Finances

Finally, all this sucess has finally been noticed, with not 1, but 3 offers to manage other premiership clubs, including an offer to manage Portsmouth for $155k per week (I'm currently on $12k per week), $127M transfer budget (currently around $100M), and wage budget of $3.8M (currently $670k) - Tempting, but of course I had to reject them all so I can complete this challenge.

    New Records

Highest League Posittion: 6th in the Premiership
    Highest Attendance: 12,481 v Aston Villa - Premiership 7.4.2021
    Highest Average Attendance: 6,389
Most League Apperances for Club: Oguzhan Ozyakup - 318
Most League Goals for Club: Jason Spencer - 104
Highest Transfer Fee Paid: Marcus Rowlands from Sunderland - 1.7.2020
    Total Transfer Spending: $29.5M (AUD)
    Total Transfer Income: $27M (AUD)

Well- our Chairman's going to have a heart-atack when he looks at the end of month accounts. Having been on-budget for salary costs since the start of the season- Ive just signed 4 players on relatively expensive contracts and I am now 3k over budget (on a monthly budget of 8k). All of them came in as Key Players- all of them should be good enough for CCL1 (should we manage an unlikely promotion).

What was it Clough would of said? Just sign the cheques like a good Chairman and leave the running of the club to the professionals...

    Pre season

went really well. I brought in some top class players on cheap wages and my pre-season was amazing. Captured ex-Bradford striker Peter Thorne who will tear up this league. Still looking for a new centre mid and my chairman said no to getting a parent club. Doing well wth injuries and I have played 1 league game, which I won 2-1 against Gainsborough. Odds are that I will get relegated but I doubt I will and I think I have the strongest squad in the BSN. Here are some screenshots:

    Marine 2013/2014 - BSN

    Oh so near

    Table / Graph

    Predicted finish: 20th
    League finish: 2nd (3-1(agg)loss)

An exceptional season that only got better as the season progressed. I had, again, prepared for a long hard season but a few signings and I soon saw that I was in with a chance at success. By the time my season really kicked off, the title was a long way from me and I knew that play-offs was the best I could realistically do. As the final games came and went, we started to pull away and landed a fantastic second spot! A pityful performance home and away against Boston United meant we have at least another year in the lower realms.

    Squad

    Transfers

We had a big wage-budget problem at the start of the season so I decided to get rid of a couple of my big wage players compensation free and that freed up a lot of wage money. I then bought in a few young players that had as much ability as those released but lacked experience; hence the wage drop. The best player I brought in was AM/FC Simon Britton who scored 12 goals from an experimental defensive position. For all of the season (bar the last 2 games) the players had 'superb' morale and played with confidence and flair.

As you can see, I had some key players missing for the play-off tie and, were those lads availiable, I could well be playing in a higher tier but, hey, it's Football.

    Finances

The bank balance still looks very grim but we have made a small profit over the season and I am pleased with that and with the fact that we haven't plunged further into debt.

    Targets from last season:

    • Keep my bank balance progressing - fail
    • Survive - Not only that
    • Rebuild the squad - Succesfully

    Targets for next season:

    • Boost my bank balance
    • Hit a similar spot in the table next season
    • Keep all the players happy

I have noticed that there is not that much difference between League 1 and 2. I am overachieving and in second place after 28 games. I am 10 points behind the leaders but that is Sheffield United who were relgated last season

WOW!!! 8 games in and my strikeforce is ripping up the division 24 goals and we are 4 points clear of 2nd. If i keep scoring at this rate, we will have about 150 goals in the League this season

I can't put my finger on why I am losing so much money. My wage-balance is well under control and I get a considerable amount from my parent club.

That would explain things I get 8000 on average per game, albeit in League 1 How big is your ground?

Your Marine, it takes forever to make a profit with them, the tiny ground doesn't help.

I had 40 season ticket holders first season

Good season Peter, and hopefully you can push on and get to the BSP. Simon Britton looks like an excellent BSN player but I don't know about BSP. He is quite slow but will put away the chances with composure 17. I bet your hoping to finally get out of the BSN

My squad for my first season in the BSP is quite weak IMO.

I will have my promotion update tomorrow and my pre-season, signings update as well, hopefully.

My ground is only slightly bigger

    Mine is 3000 (400 seated)

My ticket prices are the same but I have 17 more season ticket holders

10,000 at FC United in the Championship charging £25/£435 - Though Grays are charging £26/£535 with Spurs, Soton and Blackpool the other teams charging more than me - Hull and Blackburn are only charging £15 no wonder so many ex-premiership sides are going bust.

I feel sorry for Arsenal fans a season ticket for them is £1.5K over twice the rest of the Premierships.

Though having a look back through my attendances it was only when I made it to League Two that my attendance went above 2,500, so Marines small ground isn't that much of a problem in the BSP/BSN.

Have you played with Marine? Yes, it is really difficult but I really do need promotion so that we will start filling the stadium.

Yes, I was very happy when I got him and he just accepted a five-year contract on only £250 a week . He scores some great goals and I have played him in a 'free role DM' position which works like a charm for him. I've got a good feeling about this season and have just signed a forward on loan from United and he looks like he will suit my 'lone forward' roll superbly.

Good luck with the season mate.

I completed the challenge with them on FM2006 and FM2008, its ok once you get up the leagues as you get to poach all of Evertons and Liverpools fans

Okay, so all I have to do is get above Pool and Everton?

I've just remembered why I don't play my first team in the cups - just lost a midfielder and striker to 4 week injuries being knocked out of the FA Cup by Premiership Bristol City, whilst Burnley have just managed to take out my captain, vice-captain and stand in captain in one game
