Season 2 update: Panachaiki 2005 GE

Greek national B division, league table: http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/521...geleagueta.jpg

    Media prediction: 15th
    Final Position: 6th

This season started brightly as i brought in a few under 19 and under 21 internationals, As well as bringing in a new center forward. Pre season went well got friendlys against the "Big teams" in greece to get some money in, got a good 2-1 win over cardif city and a 2-2 draw against birmingham, then played some lower teams to build the confidence/morale of the players.

After 10 league games i was sitting top of the league having only lost one, then i started picking up more draws and losing games here and there, which lead me to drop off the pace abit, a change of players and tactics didnt improve much as i slumped to more defeats. Reverted back to my original tactic which helped me challenge for a promotion spot but it was to much to ask from the side who's aim was to finish mid table. In all fairness 6th was a dissapointment, own goals/late goals conceded led us to 6th, but if we could defend in the last couple of minutes if game it could of seen me take 3rd maybe 2nd place. But it gives us a chance to build again ready to challenge for the promotion places next season

On another good note my under 21's side won there league by 5 points (scoring 79 goals and conceding 24) and they also won the greek under 21's cup beating olympiakos 21's in the semi final and panathiniakos 21's 3-1 in the final. So the young signings are showing some promise

    Greek cup:

    Board expectation: 4th round
    Round Reached: 3rd round

Bad cup run this season, in the 3rd round match i conceded a goal in (45+2) minutes and scored an own goal in the 90 (+4). The game finished 2-2 aet and the team i played won 5-4 on penalty's

    Aims for next season
Sell/free transfer any un-needed players (again)
Bring some of the better youth players through
Finsh in 6th place (minimum), but hopefully 1st/2nd/3rd
Reach the 4th round of the cup
Bring in a new left midfielder (hopefully super league standard)

    Good season CCFC 4 life

I hope you have more luck holding on to your youth team than I usually have. I sign them young, a couple of seasons in the U-19's, maybe a loan spell, then they break into the first team and demand a move to a bigger club 6 months later.

Is it possible for a leagues reputation to get better. Im sick of my players being wanted by clubs such as Plymouth and jumping ship for Championship football ahead of Champions League football!!

    Thanks daemonic
The young players are playing really well in the youth team so im thinking of keeping them there instead of loaning them out, so they can get familiar with my tactics. The main reason for getting the young players in was to get them cheap, improve there stats abit then sell them on unitll i can attract better young players/improvement on the youth players getting promoted.
But ive got two serbian under 21 players (right back and striker) who look very promising for the division im in and would be useful to save me from relegation from the divison above.
Ive also got a spanish keeper aged 20 who i signed from some spanish B side, he is now wanted by real soceidad (sp) and malaga so doubt im going to be able to hold onto him .
But i have got an italian regen gk on trial who looks very good, and ive got dean bouazin (sp)(the lad who is at liverpool) on trial but aston villa and west brom are both intrested in him so its unlikely that i will get him ahead of them two teams but i will try
Have not signed anyone so far this season but been media prediction is 8th and im 12-1 to win the league so its looking good so far (Y)

    sorry about the double post

I forgot to mention my 19 year old right back from bulgaria, he has a fair few under 19's/21 caps, as well as one full international cap

He played 29 games for the 1st team and got an average rating of 6.92, chipped in with an assist here and there aswell

Heres a screenshot if anyone wants to see him http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/8541/blagoydonchev.jpg

No, league reps stay the same no matter how well clubs from that league do in Europe etc.

My transfer policy is much like yours. I hoover up any young talent willing to sign and make money if they don't improve enough to get into the first team.

I think the FM gods may have listened to my whining earlier as we're on a good run in Europe this season thanks to a few amazing youngsters. My first team average age is 20

Average age is 20, sounds like you have got a good solid team building there from a young age top work

I managed to sign bouazin, £180 p/w with a £35 apperance fee and £25 clean sheet bonus so he can play in the under 21's for a bit then i can move him into the 1st team

Ive just signed another serbian regen, this one is a DC (scout found him) and would be a 1st team regular at most clubs in the divison but due to my current defenders being slightly better than him, and ive already allocated my 3 non EU places to 3 of my best players he is going to have to wait till one of them moves on to a better club

CSM Olimpia Rîmnicu Sãrat - Romanian First League 2018/19

    Transfers
Again lots of youngsters with potential. The 2 exceptions were record breakers.

Henri Adelaar (DC) - Cost 4m but has looked solid when called upon.
Elzivan (ST) - When my scouts recommended this guy I didn't hesitate to smash our transfer record to snap him up for 6.5m. 15 goals in 20 games including the 2 that saw us past Real Madrid in the Champions League show he's a star in the making.

    Europe
    Champions League - Runner-Up | Final
I should have expected it but it was still disappointing to be given a nightmare draw for the Group Stage as we got Man Utd, PSG and Grasshopper. But we put the nightmare behind us and won the group with the pivotal result being a 1-0 win at Old Trafford.

When I looked through all the Group Stage 2nd place teams the only one I really wanted to avoid in the First Knockout Round was Real Madrid, so we got Real Madrid. Despite leading 1-0 at half time at the Santiago Bernabéu, we couldn't hold on and lost 2-1. Cometh the 2nd leg, cometh the new Brazilian striker, Elzivan with 2 goals to fire us into the Quarter Finals.

The draw continued in its cruel manner as we were paired with Barcelona, current holders and winners in 4 of the last 6 seasons, in the Quarter Final. They absolutely hammered us in the first leg having 25 shots, although only 8 were on target and none were clear cut chances and so we escaped with a 0-0 draw. The 2nd leg was a huge shock as an Ionut Nae hat-trick and a goal from Elzivan destroyed Barcelona 4-0.

The Semi-Final pitted us against AC Milan who'd knocked us out last year. We gave them a good game in the first leg at the San Siro losing 2-1 so we were still in with a shout. As against Barcelona we stormed out of the blocks going 2-0 up by the 19th minute and thats how it stayed until AC drew level in the tie with an 88th minute goal. Into injury time and we were given a corner and Gallardo rose highest to power home a winning goal.

So which giant of European football would we face in the Champions League Final? The mighty Shaktar Donetsk, winners of the Europa League 2 seasons ago and runners up last year so definetly more European pedigree than CSM Olimpia Rîmnicu Sãrat.
We had slightly the better of a game which looked to be heading for extra time until Shaktar scored in the 89th minute leaving us no time to respond. So close.

League - Predicted: 1st | Final Position: WINNERS | Graph | League History
A poor start by our standards (2 draws, both away) was followed by 24 successive wins to seal the title with 8 games to play. We almost finished the season without dropping another point until a final day draw away to Gloria Bistrita. Another unbeaten season extending our run to 103 games.

    Domestic Cups
Romanian Super Cup - Cancelled when same team win the League and Cup the previous season.
Romanian Cup - Qtr-Final - Lost to Steaua when I sent out a very inexperienced team with an eye to resting players for the Champions League. Our first domestic defeat in over 2 years.

    Other News
Finances are ok. The board swallow up any profit with their dividend although they did announce another stadium expansion of 5736 seats. We now have 2 shirt sponsors totalling 1.6m between them.

    Club Records

    Stars
Alves (DC) - Only 19 but very solid in defence. Already attracting a lot of interest. Picked up 3rd in the Romanian Young Player of the Year.
Doru Panait (MC) - Our perennial midfield general. Another fantastic season during which he was capped for Romania and commited his future to the club for 5 years.
David (AML) - Signed on a free last year had a great season. Lots of assists and won the Romanian Young Player of the Year.
Pablo Pena (AMRLC) - Was given a couple of runouts and was such a star he cemented his place as our leading AMR early on in the season. Highlight of the season was a stunning 4 assists in our 4-0 demolition of Barcelona.
Ionut Nae (AMC) - Excellent in the AMC role. Highlight was a hat-trick against Barcelona.
Antolin Gallardo (ST) - A natural goalscorer, he broke the club record for goals in a season with 23 and also won the Romanian First League Top Scorer and the FPOTY.

    Youth Watch
No one new to add this season.

Florin Tudor (DL) | Initial Profile - Good season. Proving to be a very solid squad player.
Marian Mocanu (ST) | Initial Profile - Good year for the U-19's. Was planning on loaning him out as he was going to struggle to break into the first team while Elzivan and Gallardo are at the club, but when I spotted this guy and his club declared interest in Mocanu, a deal was done.

The debate on this has been had many times on the forums with arguement against being that the relative strengths of all the European leagues hasn't really changed much in real life for a while. The arguement for is the emergence of the Russian league etc. as more money is pumped into it.

I agree that it should, but it doesn't happen in the game. The club reps will go up but you will always get players wanting to move to a 'more competitive league'.

    13/14 - SFM Senec - Slovakia

    Media Prediction - 4th
    Finished - 1st

We needed to build on what we had achieved last season. Winning the league looked likely again but it was the added pressures of Champions League this time round. We strengthen our squad by bringing in seven players, three for fee's and four on free transfers. Pick of the players were Grujicic and Petrus. Transfers

    Code:
    Champions League:
    1st Qual Round - WON v Gorica (6-3 agg)
2nd Qual Round - WON v Slavia Prague (4-3 agg)
3rd Qual Round - WON v Maccabi Haifa (2-1 agg)

    Champions League Group G
We finally had some cup success, in both the Super Cup and the Slovak FA Cup. Overjoyed with that as we have never got past the 2nd Round in the Cup.

Squad Stats | Grujicic | Snirc | Prochazka

Finances are brilliant, we received 4mil for competing in the Champions League which helped massively and also receiving 500k on a couple of occasions, firstly for the sale of Dragomir to Al Wahda, which made us a tidy profit of 478k and TV Money from Europe.

    Aims for Next Season
    • Win the League again
    • Win the Cup again
    • Achieve some points in the Group Stage, if we get there again.

    Good seasons daemonic and ToMexico!!

A bit of a mid-season update, we failed to get past the CL groups, finishing last on 3 points, our only win 2-1 over Porto. We bombed 2 other games though, the other Porto game and one of the Arsenal ones...

In the league, we are on 42 points after 16 games, 2 points behind Panathinaikos, but I have a game in hand. We beat Olympiakos 5-2 which I thought was a great achievement.

The leagues gonna be tight again this year, I just hope I can win it this season. The match against Panathinaikos in 3 weeks time will probably decide the season.

    Cheers chaps....

Just been approached by Zilina to take over as manager, swiftly rejected. They were offering me 3.3mil to spend and 43k per week wages. Currently got 3.2m left to spend and have a smaller wage budget but i would never be tempted to jump ship.

Cleared alot of players out on frees so far this preseason. Brought in a decent centre half from Dnipro for 550k. Still looking to bring in a DL, ML and another GK.

Season 3 update: Panachaiki 2005 GE

    Greek National B leage:

    Media Prediction: 8th
    Final Position: 3rd

    League table: http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/5219/...geleagueta.jpg

After an eventfull pre season, bringing in some more young talent and selling on players who where no longer needed, i had built a side which was capeable of finishing in/around the promotion places. Again after 10 games i was sitting top of the league (undefeated) then injuries to key players seen me slip into 5th place during january and february. A change in tactic started getting me valuable away points against the teams in mid table. I managed to grab 4th place and there was three games left for me to take 3rd place and get promoted. I won two of my last three games which led to me gaining 3rd place but i needed a win on the last day to guarente superleague football next season or a draw which would of left me hoping for the team in 4th to lose or draw to the team in 2nd place. Fortunatly i was playing against 17th in the league, but they had been on abit of a run recently only losing 1 of there last 5. Although i dominated the game i got a dissapointing 0-0. But as look would have it that was the same score from the other game and i finished the season in 3rd place and won promotion.

Yet again my under 21's won there league (with 7 matches to go i think) after they had an undeafeted season, winning 31 and drawing 3. Scoring 99 goals and conceding 15. So not a bad season for them

    Greek cup:

    Board expectation: 4th round
    Round reached: 5th round

After an easy 4-0 win in the 2nd round and not participating in the 3rd round, i had to play OFI from the superleague in the 4th round at my ground. After 90 minutes the match finished 0-0, so extra time came and after 100 minutes i managed to score a well worked goal, i managed to hang onto this and progressed into the 5th round where i took on AEK, after a terrible start i found myself 3-0 down after 25 minutes (one of the goals being a penalty in the 2nd minute), after tweaking my tactics i managed to hold it till the 47th minute where AEK finished the game off and went 4-0 up, from then it was a non contest as both teams shared the possesion of the ball and there was about 2 shots in the rest of the half. So i was well beaten by much better opposition and went out with a wimper.

    Aims for next season

Stay in the superleague This is my main aim
Reach the 5th round of the cup
Bring in a superleague standard Center forward
Carry on bringing the youth players through
Sell about 5 players who are not good enough to play in the superleague

Congrats on promotion, CCFC 4 life. I can't believe that PAOK are in the National B Division in your game! Glad to see that Niki Volou are doing fairly well on your game.

Come on Gundo, I know you can turn it around!

It's starting to get intense in my game. 6 games until the end of the season, i'm on top of the ladder by 1 point of Panathinaikos, who are 5 points ahead of PAOK. Then it's a 7 point gap between them and Olympiakos in 4th, so the title race is between us 3 teams. I have a horrid run home, my final 3 games are Olympiakos, PAOK and AEK. This is gonna be big...

EDIT - 4 games left, and i'm 3 points in front! I really hope Panathinaikos lose or draw a game soon, so I have some breathing space incase of a slip up. If we're on equal points, they go ahead because of their better head-to-head record against us this season.

This is it! Final game opf the season: Niki Volou v AEK Athens. I need at least a draw to win the title. If I lose, I need Panathiakos to lose or draw against Xanthi. Here come the scores as they happen...

Just pressed submit team. I will be playing the full match.

4th minute - A blow for AEK Athens as striker Nathan Burns is forced to come off injured.

21st minute - Niki Volou striker Sergio puts the ball in the back of the net only to be flagged offside. Still 0-0 in both games.

24th minute - GOAL!!! AEK Athens take the lead after Glauber skins 3 players before putting the ball in the back of Angelos Androutsos well-guarded net. I am disgusted in my defence. Why did Jan Bartos (my best defender) have to be injured?

35th minute - In the Panathinaikos v Xanthi game, Psomaidis has been sent off the field. Panathinaikos have 10 men, and the scores still 0-0. Can Xanthi take advantage of this?

Half Time - AEK Athens 1, Niki Volou 0
    Panathinaikos 0, Xanthi 0
So i'm still on top by 2 points. I really need a goal to at least draw the game.

61st minute - Panathinaikos take the lead in their game. They are now top of the league. I really need that goal...

66th minute - Xanthi equalise!!! I'm back on top! Still need a goal though, just switched from a 4-4-2 to a 3-4-3.

92nd minute - Just as our game was blown for full time... Panathinaikos score the winner in their game which means i've lost the league again on the final day becuase of a bad record against the winner. I'm so disappointed...

I'm not gonna play the euro playoffs just yet... I have a feeling that if I do, i'll blow a Champions League appearence next season. Give me an hour or 2, then I'll get right back into it!

GS Niki Volou - Greek Superleague 2019/20

League | Positions | Euro Places Playoffs

Another season of disappointment in the league. Panathinaiks's goal in the 92nd minute on the final day of the league handed the title to them. I hate AEK Athens now. They knocked us out of the cup and made us lose the league. We had the last laugh though, beating them 3-2 in the last minute of the match in the euro places. Our board is expanding the stadium another 2000 seats, and is making what should be the final improvement on our youth facilities.

Transfers | Finances | Greek Cup

    Europe
    Qualifiers
    Champions League Group Stage

A pretty bad season there, we only beat Porto 2-1 in our last match. If only we had Sergio then...

    The Players

    Sergio
We picked him up in the January transfer window and he didn't disappoint. 11 goals in 19 games is pretty good If you ask me

    Parlov
The croation striker was our top goalscorer for the season. He is also our best ever goalscorers, but he broke that record a couple of seasons ago.

    Reflecting Back

Ever bought a player in your first season, expecting him to be good in yout current division but would be crap by Europe? Then he exceeds all expectation? I think this next player takes the cake on all of them...

    Michael Tawiah
    Attributes
    History

He was my first ever transfer as I bought him for 8k (alot of money in those days ). Now he is worth 2.8mil, is my captain, is featuring regulary in my team and is performing very well. He is still waiting for his first Ghana cap, but is in the national team, just not in the match squad. He is Niki Volou all-time holder for most appaerances.

Got his first cap for Greece this season. Since this screenshot was taken, he has now played 3 more, all in Greece's 3 Euro 2020 games. An average rating of over 7 is spectacular for any keeper.

    Nikos Alexiou

Some more games then last season, but no real improvement in him. Might sell him if he doesn't start improving.

    Stefanos Athanapoulos

Unlike Alexiou, he improved a fair bit, and he should have more in him. Got upset when I bought Sergio.

Another great season. Despite being pretty young, he is already a regular in the squad.

Mid Season Update for SFM Senec

8 points clear after 15 games, 18 games to go. Only conceded 4 so far which is fantastic but we're still struggling to find the net, only scored 24. We got through to the group stages again but are getting our arses handed to us once again. Scored 6 in 4 games which is much better but conceded 17 which isn't great at all.

Spent 2mil on players this season so far to bolster our squad will hopefully post my first 11 in my end of season update.

I've found a way to stop my board from ripping the club off by taking all the profit as dividends...spend it all. Just paid 5m for a 17yr old keeper, which added to the 2m on a 17yr old MC should mean less for them to trouser
Just need to spend more in January to really empty the coffers.

Hoping to restart my Gundo's career again soon. I last participated as Ton Petre back on the opening page, but did rubbish and gave up within the first year. But I'm now looking for a new nation to start in and am keeping my options open. Iceland and Croatia really interest me, but the Northern Ireland bandwagon is becoming pretty large (And attractive). Republic of Ireland are also a country I've never managed in while Israel could be fun, yet impossible because of the scouting regualtions. Any idea's on the best countries to manage in?

Almost through to the CL groups again! Just gotta make sure Porto doesn't mount a come back on the return leg in Portugal. We beat them 2-0 in Greece. I'm having doubts about challenging for the league this season, my squad looks alot weaker after I had to sell numerous players.

Pluckaduck - I'd go to a nation where it wouldn't take to long to get to the top in the league. Then you can focus on europe, while your league won't be that troublesome. After seeing daemonic's great runs in europe, i'd would recommend Romania.

Of course you can choose whichever you want

My Vidar FK exploits are over, I resigned in my 5th season after 12 games with us sitting in the relegation places, think I'd taken them as far as I could have. Have no idea what to do now, I hadn't expected this save to end so soon.

While Romania is easy to dominate domestically, the ridiculous finances make it very frustrating to progress in Europe. Gate receipts in a 20k stadium of less than 1m for the season. Prize money of 65k for winning the league, yet having to give out about 1.3m as a Normal bonus for doing so.
If starting again and not wanting too much of a challenge e.g. having to take a semi-pro team pro etc. I'd probably give Switzerland a go if you can find a pro team among the promoted teams. Russia and Ukraine also look to be achievable and have more sensible finances.

Since leaving his Vidar FK post Gundo has been seen all over the Rogaland region of Norway in search of his next managerial post. Sources in Norway are today claiming Gundo has been seen meeting with several members of Klepp Il's backroom staff and Boardroom members, a statement recently issued on Klepps website indicates a press conference has been hastly arranged for later on this afternoon...

    2014/15 - SFM Senec - Slovakia

    Media Prediction - 2nd
    Finished - 1st - Champions

As we had some decent money to spend this season i thought i would spend some of it. Making 3 big money signings this season, Dotsenko from Dnipro, Fedorov from Zenit and Pernecky returned to Slovakia from Newcastle for a combined 1.7mil. I brought in a load of back up players to cover the squad and also brought some youngsters recommended to me by my scouts. Transfers

We won the league comfortably again this season, by 11 points. Defensively we were solid, Petrus keeping an amazing 21 clean sheets in the league, 30 in 46 games overall. Midfield was strengthened over the summer and the new faces in the middle worked well. Wide left player Snirc, who is out of contract and his services will not be retained created another 20 goals this season, thats 96 assists in 6 seasons, not bad for a player that cost me 1k. Grujicic was key to our attack and was going well again this season before suffering a hip injury, leaving him out for 3 months. Skrobak provided good back-up. Squad

    Code:
    Champions League
First Qual Rnd v FH (10-0agg)
Second Qual Rnd v HJK (4-1agg)
Third Qual Rnd v Wisla (2-1agg)

    Group Stage

Not going to post any best player screenies this time, will post my new season squad in an update soon.

Finances We received another 4mil from the Champions League taking us over the 9mil mark before I spent a bit more money in January. Struggling with stadium still, board keeping blocking, so we're stuck with our 2500 capacity piece of rubbish.

    Aims for Next Season
    Win the League again
    Win the Cup again
Get 1 point in the GroupStage maybe? please!

Like i said in my end of season update, i would post my starting XI for the new season, not my best eleven as i have had players leave on bosman transfers so this team is expected to change.

    GK - Petrus
    RB - van der Herik
    LB - Dvorak
    CB - Dotsenko
    CB - Polet
    RM - Yurimov
    LM - Ondrejka
    CM - Federov
    CM - Karas
    ST - Grujicic
    ST - Vrabek

Looking to improve the wide players, Right and Left of midfield and possibly a CM. I have some good back up players that can cover but nothing that stands out in midfield to begin with.

Got 6mil to spend this season and a very healthy wage budget, so its just finding the players that want to sign.

Wow. Halfway through the season, i'm first on 41 points. My record? 13 wins, 2 draws 0 losses. Unbeaten after 15 games is quite good.
HOWEVER Being only 6 points in front of Panathinaikos still means I have a long way to go until I can safely say i'm gonna win the league. A couple of slip ups and Panathinaikos can be back in front. What makes it more interesting is that neither of us will be tired from mid-week european matches, both of us finsihed last in our CL groups! It's gonna be a very interesting 2nd half of the season.

    BTW, our CL group was
    Arsenal (again)
    Roma
    PSG
We were unlucky against PSG, Roma and Arsenal at home, but we finsihed the groups with a grand total of... 0 points! Next season perhaps?

PS. I finally beat Panathinaikos, the fianl score 2-0. In there defence, they had 12 first teamers missing thrugh injuries/suspensions, but still!

Season 4 update: Panachaiki 3005 GE

    Greek Superleague: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/524...eleaguetar.jpg

    Media Prediction: 16th
    Final Position: 6th

What a season this turned out to be, after telling the board i was going to avoid relegation i found myself contesting for a euorpean play off place. After having a few beers the other night i was played the whole of the pre-season, and signed 3 players.
I got a 20 year old left sided midfielder on a free who turned out to be a great signing
A 21 year old right sided midfield who won player of the season, signed for 170K (Using all of my transfer budget)(then sold on un needed players making 500k)
Then i did the most stupid thing, i signed an argentinian AM/SC for £8.25 million it had different clauses such as 3.3 mill after 30 league goals, 2.5 mill after 30 league apperances and 2.2 mill over 24 months. But fourtunatly for me he turned out to be an amazing buy, although it was a massive price to pay he is the best player at the club, due to injury he only playe half a season. But hopefully he can help me progress next season.

A few key points from last season, i beat olympiaikos 3-0 away and 2-0 at home, as well as beating aris 3-1 away and a 2-2 draw at home. I also managed to go six games at the begging of the season without lossing, 4 wins and 2 draws, which put me top of the league for a week or so

    Greek cup

    Board expectation: 5th round
    Round reached: Quater Final

I managed to reach the quater final of the cup, the furthest i have ever taken them in this competition. Eventually losing to larisa 3-1 on aggregate

    Aims for next season
Yet again stay in the superleague
Finish 9th or above (euorpe hopefully)
Sell half the squad as they will not cut it this season
Reach the quater final of the greek cup again
Bring in some players that will aid me to achieve my aims

CSM Olimpia Rîmnicu Sãrat - Romanian First League 2019/20

    Transfers
Spent a bit this year but all were well worth the money.

Marco Lange (GK) - 5m for a 17yr old keeper is a lot but he has huge potential. Played mostly in the home league and easier away games and always did well. Was named in the Romanian First League Dream Team.
Christ Bombele (DL) - Replaced want-away DL, Nagy and slotted into the team very nicely.
Ciprian Marin (MC) - Cost 1.9m and my academies best ever player in exchange, but he has everything to be World Class. Great season including a goal and MOM performance in the CL Final, 2nd place behind Elzivan in the Young Player of the Year awards and still only just 18.

    Europe
Champions League - WINNERS | Final

Not a bad draw for the Group Stage as we met Celtic, CSKA Moscow and Newcastle. 4 straight wins meant we'd qualified after just 4 games and we maintained our perfect record with 6 out of 6.

We faced Tottenham in the First Knockout Round and we eased past them with a 1-1 draw in London before we beat them 4-2 at home.

The Quarter Final had a sense of deja vu as we met Celtic for the second time this season. We lost the away tie this time, going down 2-1 but we hammered them 4-0 in the home leg with Elzivan getting a hat-trick.

Elzivan kept it going with another hat-trick in the first leg of the Semi-Final as we managed a 3-3 draw away to Chelsea. Unbelievably, Elzivan then made it 9 goals in 3 CL games as he hit another hat-trick in a 3-2 win to see us into the final. Result: Elzivan 6, Chelsea 5.

Our Champions League Final opponents were Sevilla who would have a slight advantage as the final was in Madrid. We didn't let that bother us and although Elzivan couldn't repeat previous heroics, goals from Marin and Gallardo were enough to crown CSM Olimpia Rîmnicu Sãrat as Champions of Europe.

League - Predicted: 1st | Final Position: WINNERS | Graph | League History
Ran away with it again and sealed the title with 8 games to spare. Not quite the perfect season as we drew a single game but we did manage to accumulate 100 points and we're unbeaten in 137 games.

Finances are good although the CL TV money of only 6.5m compared to 20m+ when playing as an English team shows the disadvantage smaller nations are at.

    Club Records

    Stars
Alves (DC) - Our most reliable DC and had a very good season.
Dorin Inofrei (DC) - Played for us on loan in our first ever season of League football before being snapped up on a free a year later. Attributes say not good enough but never lets the team down and a CL average of 7.23 shows just how vital his experience was.
Doru Panait (MC) - Midfield legend who was saved for European ties for much of the season.
Pablo Pena (AMRLC) - had another fantastic season setting a new club assists record of 17 despite being rested for the many of the League games so he'd be fresh for Europe. Only started 7 league games but still came second in the First League Player of the Year awards.
Martin Novak (AMC) - Continues to perform notching up 15 goals and 10 assists from the AMC position.
Antolin Gallardo (ST) - Played mostly in the League and cup and did well with 25 goals including a Romanian Cup final hat-trick. Joint League top scorer and won Romanian First League Player of the Year.
Elzivan (ST) - LEGEND. 34 goals in 29(10) games including 3 successive hat-tricks in the CL Qtr and Semi final. Won a host of awards including Romanian First League Young Player of the Year, Champions League Golden Boot, Champions League Best Player and FPOTY.

Well the Greek title is becoming more likely this season.

    We're 1st on 68 in 28 games
Panathinaikos are 2nd on 67 in 29 games.

Our catch up game??? None other then our old friends AEK. Anyone up for a little revenge?

If we somehow manage to lose, our last game is against Aris, who are currently lower-mid table. Seeing that I only need 1 more win for the title, that might be more likely game to win.

EDIT - We did it! We demolished AEK Athens 4-1 in Athens to give us the title with a game to go!

In our final match, despite playing fringe players, we beat Aris 3-1. All I can say on this wonderful season is that i'm thankful I forked out 9.75mil for Sergio! He scored 30 goals this season, and with Parlov scoring 28, they made one hell of a strikeforce.

GS Niki Volou - Greek Superleague 2020/21

League | Positions | Euro Places Playoffs

After 2 seasons of terrible disappointment, GS Niki Volou have brought the Greek Superleague title to the great city of Volos for the first time ever. After a terrific first 15 games, which saw them lead the comp by 6 points without being beaten, by mid Febuary, Panathinaikos were only 1 point behind them. But Niki Volou held strong to win the league with a game to spare after a wonderful 4-1 victory against AEK Athens in Athens.

    Finances | Transfers| Greek Cup

We had a poor season in the Greek Cup, ging out the quarters losing 2-1 on aggregate to Iraklis, who are my bogey side. My finances are only good because my chairmen injected 9.5mil into the side after announcing to build a new stadium.

    Star Players

Parlov - After scoring the goal which sent Croatia through to the Euro 2020 final, he came back to the club and backed it up with a wonderful season, scoring 28 goals, becoming the FPOTY and breaking goalscoring records left, right and centre (except most goals in a season, now held by Sergio ) His best performance was easily his 4 goals in our 5-1 thrashing of OFI.

Sergio - What a season! You simply cannot go without a freekick specialist, and he's easily the best in Greece, scoring 11 of his 30 goals from the dead ball. His height made him a terrific asset at corners too, and had a wonderful season. Definetly worth the 9.75mil. Is linked with big clubs from all over Europe, but with his contract not ending til 2025, he isn't going anywhere!

Garcia Lopez - I've had this kid since 2013, and he's only just starting to shine now. 21 assists made him the best midfielder in the comp.

Another wonderful season. Chucked a tamtrum after I rejected a bid from Newcastle, but soon got over it and signed another contract.

    Nikos Alexiou
    Initial
    Season 5

He went on the trasnfer list (by request) multiple times during the season because he wanted more games, even though he played more this season then any before! Hmmm... Rangers want him, I'll accept their bid.

    Stefanos Athanasopolous
    Initial
    Season 4

Stayed on loan all season at my feeder club, Kallithea. He helped the newly promoted side achieve a respectable 6th position, so he played fairly well.

    Nikos Savvidis
    Initial
    Season 3

Easily my best central defender. He is being tracked by lots of clubs, but hopefully I can hold onto him. His contract doesn't expire until 2026.

    Iraklis Papadopoulos
    Initial
    Season 1

He played a fair few games. Started the season poorly, averaging 5.43 after 5 games, but picked up after that. Should be in the first team regulary in about 3-5 years.

    Europe

    Group E

A Sergio freekick in Portugal helped my side to an away goals victory over Porto, but that would be the last happiness of the campaign. We drew Arsenal, Roma and PSG in our group, and despite battling hard, couldn't produce a single point in 6 games. Next season perhaps?

First Step done, now to win the Champions League. My first goal would be to retain the Greek Superleague title. Second would be to either
A - Come in the top 2 of our CL group and progress through the first knockout round. This will depend on the group we get.
B - Come third in our group and make a good run to the semis of the UEFA Cup (maybe more likely).
Our squad is more capable now, we've signed a handy brazilian midfielder called Wellington who should provide a strong partnership with Garcia Lopez.

The Greek league sounds tough. I had an advantage in Romania of being able to save my best players for Europe without having to worry about anyone challenging us in the League.

I presume you go straight in the CL Groups now that you're champions? You'll probably be 3rd seeds too so a little luck and you can make good progress.

Yeah we're straight into the group stage this season. Our chairman is looking to step aside, let's see; I've so far had on this save a consortium, an inner promotion... should be time for a tycoon to help us in europe

    EDIT -
My group isn't that bad to be perfectly honest
    - Real Madrid (who haven't made it past the 1st knockout of the UEFA Cup for 3 seasons now)
    - Celtic (Possible away win)
    - Niki Volou (We were 3rd seed)
    - Lech (Probably easy beats)

    2015/16 - SFM Senec - Slovakia

    Media Prediction - 1st
    Finished - 1st - Champions

We brought in a few decent players to add to the first team and also strengthened the back up again. We spent 1.4m and sold 1.7m worth of players giving us a profit for the season. I made Sidibe my first £1mil player.

Half my squad is either unhappy or wanted, not good for morale. If i allow my players to leave, i can't find the players to replace them at this stage. I had two players break the 20 goals for the season deadlock. Squad

We won the league quite comfortably in the end, we only lost one game and drew five. Thus winning 27 of our 33 league games. Only conceding 14 was a particular highlight, that shows the strength of my defence. We also scored the most league goals of 68, we're starting to find our shooting boots at long last.

Again we won the Slovak FA Cup, Winners v Trvana

    Code:

    Draw v Salzburg
    Win v Salzburg

    Champions League Group

    UEFA Cup
    1st KO Round v Galatasaray (Lost 5-2agg)
Finances increased again by about 5mil. The board had originally given us 6mil to spend but they increased that to 8mil after Champions League Qualification.

    Erzincanspor 2017/18

A bit of a poor showing domestically left us in 3rd at the end of the year but who cares. In Europe we were drawn with Benfica, Le Mans and Barcelona over which a famous 2-0 victory claimed us 1st place in the group. Next up Dinamo Kiev who held it 0-0 away but went down 3-1 in Turkey to send us through to Real Madrid who again held us 0-0 away but lost in Erzincan quite easily 2-0. Then things started to get a bit tough with Chelsea in the semi-final as we lost 3-1 away from home but the away goal proved crucial as we won 2-0 at home to set us up with Inter. It was a crazy match finishing 5-2 to me after they went down to 10 men. Mighty player Abdurrahman Peker did it again, winning pretty much every award going. I'm also very impressed with Tuncer Okumus, the most expensive (£2M) 17 year old I ever bought in his second season with me and the rest of the team.

Bit of mid season report here.

I'm currently on top of the league by 3 points, closely followed by Panathinaikos and Olympaikos. I came 3rd in my CL group on goal differnce to Celtic after a massive injury crisis came mid-october and some of my better players (Sergio/Parlov) are out until my around my UEFA Cup 1st knckout round match against Ajax. Stupid injuries came at the worst possible time. If we had a reconisned striker against Celtic, we would have easily beaten them. But that's football, always next season.

However because a few of them don't return until a couple of days before the Ajax match, they probably won't be back to full fitness in time. I might have to take a risk, but I really want to get to at least the quarters f the UEFA Cup.

AEK knocked me out of the Greek Cup in the 5th round.

    EDIT -
Got past Ajax 2-1 on aggregate. Now travel back to Scotland to play Rangers. Winnable game, I should think.

I was also offered the Cameroon job. Rejected of course. Only nation I would even consider making another save for is my home nation Australia because they have an unbelievable regen CM playing at Juventus.

Alright, i've retained the league (was always in control, it wasn't that hard this time ) BUT the season isn't quite over. Here are my current UEFA Cup results -
    (Home Teams First)
    1st Knockout Round
    Ajax 1, Niki Volou 2
    Niki Volou 1, Ajax 1
    2nd Knockout Round
    Niki Volou 2, Rangers 1
    Rangers 1, Niki Volou 1
    Quarter Finals
Sporting CP 1, Niki Volou 2
Niki Volou 1, Sporting CP 1

Every tie has been the same, a 2-1 win followed by a 1-1 draw. I could've easily won by 5 in Portugal though...

    The other 2 semis are
    Liverpool v Niki Volou
    AC Milan v PAOK

I'm hoping for an all-greek final.

I won't be able to finish the season tonight though, football training took alot out of me tonight. Hoping to finish the season before school tomorrow. Update should be tomorrow arvo (aussie time that is, so about 6am GMT )

Congrats on winning the Champions League and completing the challenge daemonic and Quakje

I have neglected my Yalovaspor save recently but I have been inspired to get back into it as I was actually in Yalova at the weekend! I had a work conference in Bursa, about 60 kms south of there and thought I'd visit the in-laws while I was at it. Unfortunately, Yalovaspor were playing away otherwise I would have gone to see them. Maybe next time...

GS Niki Volou - Greek Superleague 2021/22

League | Positions | Euro Places Playoffs

We dominated the league without much effort this season, staying on top for most of the season. However, we showed this season that we can compete in europe. Sure, losing 4-0 to Liverpool at Anfield is quite a big margin, but we did beat them 3-2 at home, and they have a couple of the best players in the world in their squad. Greek Cup was disappionting, going out in the 5th round to AEK Athens.

Finances | Transfers | Greek Cup

Our finances are improving a fair bit. Once our new stadium is built, we'll start making money alot easier. Most of our cash came from TV revenue this season; 7.25mil from CL Group Stage, and 6mil from the UEFA Cup.

    Star Players

Parlov - This guy is an unbievable striker. He has scored 75ish goals in the past 3 seasons for the club.

I've decided to cut out Alexiou and Athansopoulos from this report, they just aren't Niki Volou material. If you wish to find out about them, go to the Youth Player project thread

I'm pretty sure seeding and coefficients are tied together so 23rd should get to a second seed slot.
Very jealous of your GK. To get someone like that through the youth ranks early adds a great dimension to the save.

The best thing about him is that he's only 24. Keepers usually don't peek until around 28/29, and retire fairly late. I can safely assume that he'll be in my squad for many seasons to come.

He's also been one of the reasons this save has kept my interest for this long. Before this save, i'd never gotten past season 2013/14

Another season, another Welsh Title. To be honest, there's no way I should fail to win any domestic trophies with my side now at Llangefni, as I've got a team who could slot comfortably into the English Football League, probably in the Championship. As a result, I won the domestic treble, losing one league game all season and rotating my squad quite a lot, as with another good European run we played more than 60 games.

Europe was again a huge success, as we managed to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League, giving me the funds to keep this team going for years. In our group we got a grand total of 0 points, but we got there, which is what's important. I'm aiming to get to this stage regularly to give me the funds to move the team on.

Off the field everything is going well too. We turned pro, and also improved the training and youth facilities. There is another training and youth upgrade on the way as well. Stadium-wise I asked for an expansion, but the council won't allow it, and I'm unlikely to get a new stadium when I'm getting crowds of 1250 in the league and the ground holds 3500, even if I was able to pack the ground for Champions League games. Luckily, my crowds are improving year on year, and every league win gets me another 200-250 fans or so on to my crowd. Therefore I might get a new stadium in about 10-15 years or so....

    League Table

    Welsh Cup

    Welsh Premier Cup

    £4 million for this

    Finances now very secure

    Squad stats again

    My best striker

Talbot is someone I picked up on a free at the age of 16, and he's now being linked with the Wales squad. He could definitely go quite a long way.

Best manager in Wales ever, apparently

The group i've gotten for the Champions League is slightly harder then last year.

FC Bayern (who won the CL last year, beating Real Madrid 5-1 on agg. along the way )
    Niki Volou (Seeded second)
Dinamo Kiev (Probably going to be the Celtic of our group)
Fenerbahce (looked through their team, all of their players suck)

Top 3 should be a given, whether or not I can get top 2, however, remains to be seen.

    _________________

My signings have been relatively few again this season. Only signed a swedish striker called Ola Lindstrm, a cameroonian striker called Jaques Song and a french midfielder called Christophe Arbogast. IF my internet wasn't being so slow i'd get screenshots up, so unfortunatly you'll all have to wait for a while

I personally think that last season we were unlucky to lose our 2 games. They both happened in a injury crisis period to AEK and Panathinaikos. I think there will be a season, maybe not this one or the next one, but soon, when we will win EVERY game. Once you're at the top of Greece, it isn't really that hard to stay on top.

Greece's co-efficent keeps getting better. It has just overtaked France (now over them by 5 points) after their world cup run. But we're still a long way off top 3, so 3 CL and 3 UC is all we'll have at the moment.

Yeah i'm really thinking 2nd place in the group this year. I mean, they can't be any harder than Olympiakos, who we just beat 3-0 with an efficent debut by Ola Lindstrom, scoring 2 goals, and also by Christophe Arbogast, setting up 2 goals.

Out of interest, i just checked my transfer history. I laugh at how in season 1, I spent 210k on 15-20 players, and season 2 I spent nothing on about 7 players. This season I spent 15.5mil on 3 players. It's good to be slightly rich

Here are those 3 players I signed

Ola Lindstrom - Another of the serious talent to come from Scandinavia in my save. Signed for 3mil upfront, 5mil over 24 months. Won't be competing in europe because he already had before he joined us

Jacques Song - I meant to write cameroonian winger before, should be a decent backup. Signed for 2.8mil (after lots of haggling, they originally wanted 3.9mil for him )

Christophe Arbogast - He is one of the best mids in the league now, expecting alot from him. Signed for 3.8mil

Quick question i have a save from the first patch and now ive applied the final patch, is there much advantage to starting a new game with 9.0.3 or should it be okay for me to carry on with my save.

*edit* doesn't matter found it so hard to go back to my Novalja save after months off so i'm starting a new one in Romania hope it goes well. I'll be running this alongside my Newcastle game, its good to be back among the challenges to be honest. Looked through my Novalja team and it was nicce to see my youth academy produce my top league goalscorer of all time, boy it brings back memories.

Currently playing on another computer without access to the net, so i cba to make an update at the moment. Things are going well. Survived first season and got promoted the second. The Super League in Switzerland only has 10 teams and only one gets relegated so it should be possible to avoid on a side note they currently have 2 CL spots and 2 UEFA spots which means 40% gets to play in europe lol.

GS Niki Volou - Greek Superleague 2022/23

League | Positions | Euro Places Playoffs

A year of complete domination in the league, staying on top for almost the whole season. The thing is, despite winning the league by 10 points, halfway through the season, we were equal on 38 points with PAOK. We won 15/15 at home in the league. In fact, in all comps, the only games we didn't win at home was our 4-2 loss to FC Bayern, and our 2-2 with Juventus. A wonderful way to see off our old stadium. Our relocation to our new stadium was completed in June.

Finances | Transfers | Greek Cup

We made our first ever Greek Cup final, and lost 3-2 to Panathinaikos after being 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go Our highlight of the campaign was beating AEK 5-0 at home, after losing the first leg 3-0.

    Europe
    Group Stage
    Champions League Knockout Rounds

We were unlucky. We dominated the home leg, but 2 defensive errors let Juventus draw 2-2, before beating us 1-0 in Italy. In the Italian leg, both our regular CB's were suspended because of yellow cards, so I think we did well.

    The Players
Arbogast - Wonderful debut season. If he didn't get injured for 4 months in January, he might've been the catalyst which won our tie against Juvetus.

Parlov - He is still improving every season. He is the sort of player you never want to take off the field simply because he can pull something out off the hat at any moment. Was als missing in the return leg of the Juventus game.

Lindstrom - Ah, if only he hadn't already played in Europe before joining us, he really would have made a difference. His goals were a wonderful reward. 8mil well spent.

Siaravas - Was always in top form. Can you believe that I bought him for only 26k about 6 years ago?! Levadiakos must be furious they let such a great player go for so little. Is getting on in years now.

Kallimanis - I bought him from AEK (they have their uses ) last January, and he was unbievable this season. He and Arbogast controlled the midfield when they played together. Teams are lining up to sign him, but he doesn't seem to be interested.

Another terrific season. In the new transfer window, there were rumours that Chelsea were going to offer 61mil for him, but nothing came of it. I later found out I had his asking price at 120mil, so that could be why

    Next Season
I actually finished this season a couple of days ago, but I haven't had internet access since Thursday. My goals for this season are to
    - Make it 4 in a row. The record for most consecutive league titles is 7, by Olypiakos in the 90's and by Panathinaikos in this save. Hoping to break it.
    - Go one better and win the Greek Cup. Major disappiontment this season, especially after leading 2-0.
    - Improve in Europe. I know I can do it. In the pre-season, I beat Lyon 3-1 at home. Sure, only a friendly, but still a great sign.

    Europe this Season
My group this season is as follows (and results next to them, played 1 game each against them)
    Arsenal - Lost 3-1 away
Valencia - Drew 1-1 at home (again, CB's suspended, and new CB injured )
FC Kobehavn - Won 1-0 away

Gunning for 2nd place, hopefully Valencia will slip up. Currently 2nd after 3 games, Arsenal on top with 9 points, Valencia on 2, FC Kobehavn on 1.

Well, I'm out of the Champions League
I lost 1-0 to Arsenal at home (should've been 1-1, Parlov missed a golden 1-on-1 chance) before losing 1-0 in Spain. All I can say is that in Spain, Androutsos (my GK) saved us from a 20-0 loss. He. Was. Fantastic. We dominated the last 10 minutes, but couldn't find the net.

We still aren't definetly in the UEFA Cup yet, we still need at least a draw against FC Kobehavn at home. The only teams we need to look out for in the cup are Real Madrid (about Valencia class judging by their players, so a possible win) and Everton. I believe we cpould win our first European comp this season, albeit the cup.

We are dominating the league again this season. 11 games in, 11 wins () including breathtaking wins over AEK, Olympiakos, PAOK and Panathinaikos and currently 7 points ahead of PAOK with a game in hand (actually everyone has a game in hand over PAOK and Xanthi). Definetly will be able to SAFELY rest some players before the major european matches this half of the season.

Just wondering, how many scouts are people allowed in their save? I just signed my 15th Every couple of years it goes up by 1 or 2.

Yeah we made it. We only needed a point from the game. We won in a thrilling 4-3 encounter.
With 5 minutes to go, we were up 3-1, before 2 quick goals from Kobehavn saw them equalise, and with all the momentum their way, it looked as though they might just score again.

However Nikos Savvidis headed us home a late winner in the 2nd minute of injury time give us 3rd place and through to the UEFA Cup (or Europa League if you want to use it's new name). I hope I don't get Real Madrid in the 1st game... Although if we won we'd almost be assured the Cup.

EDIT - We've drawn Werder Bremen, a team I must've overlooked Will be hard, but Valencia, Arsenal, Juventus and Lyon were all tougher opponents and we played equal (or better in some cases) to all of them. If we get through we play the winner of Braga and Olympiakos. Almost guaranteed the tie if Olympiakos get through

EDIT2 - It seems to be the "Kill off the bigger teams before the quarter finals" draw. Besides our games, other ties include:

    Sevilla v Sporting CP
Fiorentina v Getafe (winner v Tottenham in the 2nd round because they have an easy tie)
    Atletico Madrid v Everton
And Celtic and Real Madrid will play each other in the 2nd round if they get past their 1st round ties.

No one is doubting why Niki Volou is completely dominating Greece

The Thrashing of the Former Giants

The League Table with 8 to Play

In other news, I've just found out that around 5/6 years ago, a National B Division side got taken over by a tycoon. Unfortunatly for them they've only made it to the Superleague once, getting relegated first season after finishing 2nd last on 17 points. Anyway, in the January transfer window, they bought one of fringe players for 2mil. They are still only coming 6th however, so probably no promotion for them. I guess money isn't everything

EDIT - That marvoulos result then turned into a 4-1 win against Werder Bremen... in Germany! I hope Olympaikos win their tie against Braga, because we will play them in the 2nd round! The first game was a 0-0 in Portugal.

Wow, seriously impressive domestic form. You can start resting the stars for Europe with that kind of lead...although it would be a shame to risk your unbeaten record. Decisions, decisions

Eh, i'll rest players, i'm probably got the title this season, especially since the only challenging teams left to play Panathinaikos and AEK. I've also got Panathinaikos in the cup (seems to clash a bit with European games), but the cup isn't a major concern, seeing that the quarters/semis are played over 2 legs.

I think i'm unbeaten in 28 games in the league now, last loss was to Olympiakos Volou (as you can probably tell, intercity rivals) abut a year ago. Home record is even better, not losing in any greek fixture for over 2 years.

Can we join the likes of Panathinaikos and PAOK, who both went unbeaten for 1 season in this save? I doubt it, especially if one of the tough games clashes with europe.

Well, it isn't only the first team that's dominating, my Under 21's team has just secured the Group 1 title with 5 games left, scoring 88 and conceding 12 in 25 games!

In europe, we'll play Olympaikos in the 2nd knockout round after beating Werder Bremen 6-2 on aggregate. Can we recreate the 6-1 thrashing? Luckily for me, i've got play 15th place before the 1st leg, then 16th place before the 2nd leg, so I can field weak teams safely.

EDIT - We defeated Olympiakos 1-0 in the away leg, so now just the home leg to come. My goal came from my 33 year old midfielder Andres Garcia Lopez, a wonder strike from the edge of the area which lobbed the keeper before sneeking under the bar. I'm finding that expeirence means more at continental level then skill, because before Garcia Lopez came on, Olympiakos were running the shots.

EDIT2 - Defeated Olympiakos 4-2 at home. The only 2 teams I wanted to avoid were Everton and Real Madrid, so in true FM style, in the quarter finals I play Everton, and if I win that I play the winner of Rangers v Real Madrid. Everton is winnable, but I'm just thankful I'm playing Real Madrid over 2 legs...

Beat Everton 2-0 in England!!! Just got the second leg to go. Real Madrid beat Rangers 2-0 in Spain, but the game in Scotland could toss up some surprises (I'm hoping...)

Beat Everton 3-2 in Greece to secure my place in the UEFA Cup semis. I'll be playing Real Madrid. The other semi is Sporting CP and PAOK, so a possible all-greek final is on the cards.

We beat Real Madrid 2-0 in Spain!!!!! They had 20 shots, we had 13 so it was a fairly even game, but I still can't believe it! I won the title, just about to play the Greek Cup final and so close to the UEFA Cup final!

We drew 2-2 with Real Madrid at hme, so i'm through to the UEFA Cup final, beating them 4-2 on aggregate!!!! My opponents are PAOK, who i've played 4 times this season (2 league, 2 cup) and won all 4 so i'm quietly confindent. I won the Greek Cup beating Panserraikos 1-0.

WE WON THE TREBLE!!! We beat PAOK in Moscow 3-2. I was up 3-0 with 10 minutes to go, but then they scred 2 quick goals and brought it back to 3-2, but I held on to win the UEFA Cup! Season Review to cme in about an hour.

GS Niki Volou - Greek Superleague 2023/24

League | Positions | Euro Places Playoff

Wonderful season. Won the league, the Greek Cup and the UEFA Cup. We should start attracting alot of talent, as our club reputation is now continental. Our only loses were to Pabathinaikos away, and Aris away (that was before the first Real Madrid game, so I naturally had LOTS of players resting). We won every home game in a greek fixture again. Our new stadium is getting expanded by 5000ish seats.

Finances | Transfers | Greek Cup

We were saved in the Finances by the 14.5mil we got from Champions League TV revenuethe end of the season. We were in the red at the end of April.

    Europe

    Champions League Group Stage
    UEFA Cup Knockout Rounds (Tree)
    UEFA Cup games

We were unlucky in the group stage, playing the equal of Arsenal and Valencia, but we couldn't get the right results. But we made up for it in the UEFA Cup.
First we played Werder Bremen. We traveled to Germany expecting a difficult game, but ended up winning 4-1! Then we won the home game 2-1 and we were through.
2nd round pitted us against Greek rivals Olympiakos, who we had thrashed 6-1 a month ago. An Andres Garcia Lopez stunner won us the away game, before we beat them 4-2 in the home game. And on we went...
To face Everton in the Quarter Finals. Again, we played the fist game away, expecting a difficult game in England, but won 2-0! The home game was also won 3-2, so on we went again. Our confidence was rising, and we would need it against...
Our semi finals opponent, Real Madrid. As was the trend, we went to Spain first, expecting to be thrashed by the Spanish giants, but a relativly even game ended 2-0 in our favour! We then drew 2-2 at home, to set up an all Greek affair with...
PAOK, who we had beaten 4 times already this season. It took us only 2 minutes to get on the bard with Johansson heading from close range. Then Parlov scored a curler from the edge of the area, before scring again with 15 to go. But then PAOK scred twice t bring it back to 3-2 with 2 minutes to go. We held on for a famous victory in the clubs centenary season!

    The Players
David - Wonderful season, the assist machine from the left wing helped us in attack. Won Foreign Player of the Year

Arbogast - Another tremendous season. scred some abosolute pearlers from outside the box.

Johansson - One of the Fab 4 strikers of my team. Only 20, But is wanted by lots of clubs. Almost accept a bid from West Ham, he doesn't care when I reject bids.

Kallimanis - He and Arbogast are the best central mid partnership I have ever managed on FM. No question about it.

Lindstrom - Wants to move on to bigger things, but no one wants him Might settle down a bit this season.

Parlov - Another fantastic season. His technical and mental abilities are still improving alot, his physical side isn't dropping drastically either.

Sergio - Hasn't made the report in a while because of poor form because he wanted to leave. Settled down this year, and renewed his contract until 2029.

Nah, just getting to a quiet time on a lot of the challenge threads. I'm much the same over on Razer82's thread at the moment.
But I love the challenges and the associated threads. Weird how much more into a save you get when sharing it with others through the updates.

We have added the European Super Cup to our trophy cabinet, defeating Barcalona on penalties. Now to win the important one... the Champions League.

Our group looks straight forward, with Man Utd looking like the dominate team. Rangers won't be easy, but they won't be hard either. I think i'm correct in expecting 2 wins from Rapid Wien.

Our signings this seasons have mainly been adding depth and young players to the squad. I personally don't see anything wrong with my first 11, so there's nothing to change.

EDIT - We started the season poorly, drawing 0-0 with AEK at home, then 3 of my players turned up after the match with the unfit symbol. Luckily for me, there's a 2 week break until my next game because of internationals, so they can recover then.

EDIT2 - We've started the CL brightly. We beat Rapid Wien 4-1 at home, before going to Old Trafford to play Man Utd. We were down 2-0 before central mid Wellington scored on 70 minutes to make it 2-1. Then right on full time, Jonas Johansson headed home a late equaliser! 2-2 at Old Trafford, wonderful result IMO. We are equal top with Rangers, who beat Man Utd 1-0 at Ibrox then drew with Rapid Wien 1-1 away.

But I made a major mistake - I didn't register my best left back in the comp Honestly don't know how, must've just passed him without realising it.
