Porph - Iprottafelag Reykjavikur - End of season review 2017

    Media Prediction: 1st
    Actual Position: 1st

Fantastic performance in the league, dominating from start to finish and only conceding 5 goals and dropping 6 points in the process. We retained the Icelandic Cup, again with ease. It was a good all round team performance and the Icelandic team of the season featured 10 IR players out of the 11.

    Squad
Finances - We missed the champions league cash but the finances remained steady as we sold a few players who were unsettled and re-invested in youth.

    Top 5 performers:

Bjorn Sigurdarson - An excellent season - not our top scorer for the first season whilst at the club. Won't sign a new contract.
Emil Vilhjalmsson - Another solid season.
Sigpor Magnusson - Top scorer overall and was fantastic this season.
Gunnar Olafsson - A quality season and chipped in with goals. Wouldn't sign a new contract so has been sold to Suwon in Korea for £2.8m.
Bjarni Ivarsson - Another immense season. Look at his stats! Still hasn't signed a new contract which is a shame.

    Europe

We made it through to the CL group stage and I fancied my chances to finish 3rd but it was not to be. Great results against Dinamo Kiev and Liverpool at home.

    Coefficient:

    93rd up from 194th IR 32.488
17th up from 25th Iceland 53.000 - we should soon be getting more Champions League places

    Next Season

Progression in Europe is the main aim. Also having realised the Czech Republic is in the EU, I will be scouting over there more!

Well after 47 seasons at Eastwood, Gilbster has decided to take a break and move to pastures new. After taking a years holiday in Hungary, she has chosen to take over newly promoted Szeged in the Hungarian Division 2 East. Having never managed in Hungary before, this will be a new adventure.

    Club Info
    Stadium Info

I was drawn to Szeged due to their youth academy and nice shade of blue home kit.

With no staff and few players in the first team, although some in the reserves and U19s, it will be a tough job to stay up in the first season, especially with a media prediction of 15th, and an empty trophy cabinet, hopefully I can bring some sucess to Szeged.

I have been told to battle bravely against relegation, and unless I get some staff and decent players in before the first transfer window shuts, I am not completely hopeful.

    Wish me luck.

I've just noticed some major progress on the European front. This season I am starting in the 2nd qual round of the CL but next season, the following rules will apply - Top 2 teams qualify for CL group stage, 3rd qualifies for the best placed 2nd round, 4th-5th qualify for the 4th round of the UEFA cup qualifying and 6th qualifies for the 3rd round.

    Huge change!

Great to see you making some progress on the European front. Hopefully with more clubs in Europe the overall league stand should improve a bit.

EvilDave in Iceland - Afturelding 2012

    Board Expectations: Avoid relegation
    Media Expectations: 8th
    Actual Finish: 2nd and promoted

We started poorly in the Upper League Cup but recovered slightly to pick up 5 points from our 5 matches, nowhere near enough to progress though and one of these I'll make the next round. The Icelandic Cup was a shocker, beaten away at non-league minnows Volsungor in the Second Round and majorly disappointing the board. Fram took the trophy for the third successive year.

The league however, was a different story. In the first half of the season we won every single one of our home games and with improved away performances we sat 4th at the half-way point. Despite our only home loss of the season to Haukar we carried on winning away until the final game of the season. 2 points clear we went down 2-1 to Por and needed Haukar to slip up away at already-relegated Flykir. The table speaks for itself - they only managed a draw and the amateurs of Afturelding were promoted!

I was a lot more careful with transfers, releasing a lot of dead wood and bringing in only a select few. Here are a few of the men that made promotion possible:

Halldor K Halldorsson - With the club from the start, my captain and central defensive rock, chipped in with a couple from set-pieces along the way too.

Rabah Sbai - Halldorsson's partner and Afturelding's first international. Picked up two years ago from Swedish non-league, he's blossomed into a great defender.

Calum Bett - Brother of Icelandic international Baldur, the Scot has been a standout performer on the right wing for the last 4 years and we will miss him when he eventually decides to retire.

Tomasz Stolpa - The striker we've been looking for, the big Pole fired in double-figures for the first time in the club's history. Only been with us one year and may find himself replaced soon by...

Halldor Sigvaldsson - The only youth product with any promise, this guy looks like he could lead the line for years to come, although with interest from Levski Sofia we'll do well to keep hold of him.

Aim for next season: Survival. Let's move on to the Premier League!

    Tandragee Second Division 2009/10

    Table

After being predicted for relegation i had to sign almost a full team as there were few players of a decent standard already at the club, luckily being amateurs they were easy to get rid off. Signed this ex cardiff player after he was scouted on the trial day, his first season was interupted by injuries and suspension in the second half of the season but i'm hoping he will be leading my line for years and scoring plenty.
My league season was splint into 2 halves, in the first half i scored 20 points after 11 games and sat top of the league, in the remaining 15 games i scored only 6 goals and got 9 points inc 5 consecutive 0-0 draws. My performance in the various cups was pretty poor overall not making much progress.

I hope to improve the squad for the new season and to this end have signed wayne drummond, a gk who is always really promising in every game i've ever played

Nice one Gilbster - it took me 6 matches in the league, and I'd already failed in 5 cup games!

Update: After promotion, we've gone Semi-pro! It'll make recruitment a lot easier, but I suspect our finances make take a hit...

An improved season, we were second for a long period of the season, but we dropped off again in the second half of the season, eventually slumping to 6th. We got a shiny new stadium, a 10,000 seater, which seems to have pulled in some new fans. We are struglging to compete with the pro clubs, but we are keeping at it, trying to pick up as many free transfers as possible. Again Agunan was the teams best performer, chipping in with his usual tally of goals.

    The Cup

    http://i43.tinypic.com/2vuyr91.jpg

We got to the quarter finals again, beating LASK, a premiership side, before slumping to a defeat in extra time to Ried. A good effort.

    The plan

I going to keep trying, but things are getting increasingly difficult, I am losing the odd players who preform well to bigger professional clubs. We need to push, but there is only 1 promotion spot

Szeged - Hungary Div 2 East - Mid Season Break

Wow I love being back on this challenge with its fast seasons. I am up to the mid-season break already of my first season, and have signed a new squad which is probably too large but has options, and has some potential but also some experienced players.

Promising start to the challenge gives me enough hope we may stay up, and we also got to the 4th round of the Hungarian cup, only to crash out to a non league team.

    Media Prediction: 2nd
    My Prediction: 1st
    Finished: 1st
    Final Table

    Domestic
Again we just pipped Linfield. Won everything but the League Cup. We drew far too many games this year, I badly need to strengthen up front but that shouldn't be a problem as I expect us to turn professional now.
    Europe
Great progress this year. We got some tough ties in the qualifying rounds, I was serving a touchline ban for the second leg against our Israeli opponents so I was shocked that we still made it through, happy though. Once again we got a tough draw yet somehow we accumulated 5 points, enough to make us finish third. We withstood unreal pressure to defeat holders Lyon 1-0 at home but lost to them 7-0 away from home. We put in a good display then against Celtic but fell short in the end.

    Team news

I am facing mass changes this summer, transfer requests are hurting me but hopefully the professional status will get me what I need.

Gilbster - Szeged - Hungarian Division 2 East - 2009/10 End of Season Update

So for my first ever attempt at Hungarian management, I have taken over at Szeged. Szeged is according to wiki the 4th largest city in Hungary and from the few pictures there, looks like quite a pretty place.

As you would expect my only aim for the season was building a squad and survival, and for most of the season we were in a bit of a relegation battle. However after the winter break the team must have gelled or something as our form as generally a lot better, and we looked almost comfortable as we finished 11th out of 16th.

It certainly has given us a starting point to build on for next season.

We managed to get to the 4th round of the Hungarian Cup, and given the board was only wanting 2nd round, I am more than happy with that.

I am hoping that within a few seasons I will be used to all the accents all over the player and team names and have slightly more recognition about which teams are meant to be good or not.

I think Austria could be a really tough place to attempt this. If I ever crack Slovenia (and let's face it, I'm three releases of FM in to this challenge and still haven't got past a CL QF) I'll head over there.

NK Sampion 2015-16 Season Review - a brief one.

    Slovenian First Division
    Media Prediction: 10th
    Finished: 3rd

Never seriously in with a shout of winning the league, but always likely to be in the shake-up for Europe, despite the bookies having us as the weakest side

in the division. Eventually landed up 9 points adrift of champions Maribor, and into the 2Q round of the UEFA cup for next season

Top Scorer - Jaka Ihbeisheh (18) - again, a club record..

    Pokal Hervis
Got turned over 1-0 in our first game, at Celje.

    3rd Round

    Hopes for next season
Get closer to the title. Win a game or two in Europe..

SC Rotor Volgograd – Euro Update

UEFA Cup - How i got on

It was a good Euro campaign this season in the UEFA Cup after progressing through the group stage topping the group, i then faced i difficult Napoli side where i just narrowly progressed after a good away win then a tough draw at home. i had been drawn against fellow Russian side Zenit in the second knockout round where i breezed through with impressive displays home and away.

The quarters were beckoning for the first time in the clubs history where Lyon were my opponents. First game was away from home, i started battling through the game until lyon had a man sent off towards the end of the second half. I was awarded a penalty early on in the second half which was cooly dispatched to take the lead. i needed to hold on which i did with the man of the match going to my keeper who was outstanding keeping Benzma out . The second leg was a different story as Lyon outplayed me all over the park eventually taking the match 2-0 for them to progress.

So a big improvement in Eurpoe this year and me already qualified for the group stages in the champions league next season. Maybe i can transfer this years form into that competition and pass the group stages.

League so far after 5 games sitting 4th two points behind top place and i am unbeaten so far.

After a lacklustre first half of the season (1-4-7), the HIFK board fired me, citing poor relationship with my staff. I won't take over another club in that Finland game.

Unlucky Turcotte1004. Hope you try again in a different country at least.

I fear I may be sacked this season myself, due to doing a lot worse so far this season than last, and also due to the very negative squad harmony that I apparently have at the moment.

At the mid-season break I am in a run of 11 games without a win and have only won twice all season. I am 8 points away from safety at the moment, with only 12 matches left of the season.

Decided I was frustated by my complete lack of end of season form and wanted a change for a bit. I intend to continue at Eastwood at some point, but at the moment I am struggling in Hungary.

Basically after almost 2 months of playing the same save more or less all day every day, I need a break or else I will go mad!

Well you got further than most people would of, although Gundo's challenge is harder, being the top team in your chosen country is one thing, but it takes a long time to improve to win the Champions League as there is less cash and reputation than in England.

If it hadnt taken me those first 20 annoying seasons to even hit the football league, then I may still have some energy for the save.

I had an enjoyable save for a while in N.Ireland last year in this challenge, until I gave it up due to getting re-addicted to World Of Warcraft.

Hoping I can get into a good save but with a different country this time round, although I may be on my second Hungarian team early tomorrow!

Have started a career game instead, it's nice having the freedom to change clubs whenever and to be able to take charge of an International team. The only downside is the thread is a tad quiet at times compared to this one and Dafuge's challenge's.

Unfortunately my stay in Szeged has come to an end. Just after losing the match that I believe got me relegated the game has crashed, so I will be restarting afresh in the morning. Think I will re-holiday in Hungary over night so its ready for me in the morning.

It seems much harder in 09. I tried my best, but I could not compete with the professional clubs, at least on 08 I seemed to have a chance, but the clubs kept going out and spending large sums of foreign regens.

After a short reign in Szeged where I didnt really do that much, I have moved to Karcag, also in the Division 2 East in Hungary. They look like a club that is even worse than Szeged were, so this should be fun or very fast.

    Karcag

Basic youth and training facilities, no history or previous trophies, my only aim for the season is survival. And on that note, well done aaberdeenn on staying up.

As you might be able to see on the table 12th automatically goes down and 11th plays a playoff with 2nd in the Second Division (I'd already gone past that which Istra had won when I took the screenshot).

Zadar were well adrift at the bottom with a few games to go but somehow managed to win their last 4 games to pull off the great escape. Going into the final day I was in 8th, three points clear of 12th so it was mightily close and technically did go down to the wire yes.

Celdomolki VSC are a Semi-pro side in the Hungarian Division 2 West, they play their home games at the Kolozsvari Utca stadium which holds 3,825 people the Training facilities are described has Fairly Basic and the Youth facilities has Basic.

Reason's to panic #1: We have no reserve squad. #2: We have no staff bar an Assistant Manager. #3: We only have a first team squad of 13 players.
Reason's to be cheeerful #1: Our assistant Manager believes bar a new Left back and Right Midfielder we have a squad capable of surviving relegation. #2: We already have a Feeder club in Bosnia (Omladinac (MI)).

Season Targets: With us being 200/1 to win the league a 2nd successive promotion wont be on the cards we look like we'll have an uphill battle to just stay in the league so survival is the key.

Will update end of season ... without having to go through the whole thread has anyone made the challenge yet? I've saw that a few have won their leagues and had a good Champions league run. Would be interesting to see what clubs from what Countrys have made it to the Champions League so far.

I've been playing one of irishresearcher's saves that were uploaded for a short while now, with no real intention to post, but I'll probably be devoting less time to my San Marino game now, so I'll start doing updates fot this game.

No personal picture from when I started the game, but as it says the starting rep for the entirety of the game then would it be o.k to post it now? If it is, here is the link.

As you can see, I started with Kilmore Rec, I'm sure there was somebody playing as them last year and I fancied having a go as them. A brief summary of the first season is that we finished 5th, no real danger of relegation or hope of promotion as we just couldn't finish despite creating a ton of chances. Here is the league table from that season. One player who I have high hopes for is a regen that presumably came through in the youth batch just before I took over, David Brown. The 15 year old made 32 appearances last year and is easily one of the best players at the club, and I hope to keep hold of him for a few more years.

The next season is the one I am currently underway with, and we have made pretty good progress in the cups, even winning the Carnegie Cup. As I write this we made it through to the Quarter Final in the Steel Cup (Lost on Penalties to Glentoran Seconds) and lsot to 1st Division Queens University in the Intermediate Cup. We are through to the 5th Round of the Irish Cup and will play non-league Glebe for a place in the last 16. The league campaign is going well, although 2 wins in a row have slightly exaggerated our position as it is a very tight table. Hopefully we can haul in Moyola Park or Loughgall and get promotion, as the finances aren't looking brilliant.

What have you loaded in order to get the names of the leagues and cups in N Ireland since i'm playing there and mine have no sponsors names - which is the Carnegie cup?

Gilbster - Karcag - Hungarian Division 2 East - 2009/10 End of Season Update

I had to bring in a whole new squad and some staff, and towards the end of the season I was handed a new parent club so hopefully I may get some decent loans from them next season.

I have no idea how, but I managed to put together a squad that can actually play football, and we despite being predicted to finish 16th, we managed a very creditable 4th place.

    Table

We only managed to get to the third round of the Hungarian cup which was a round further than expected.

    Aims

    Consolidate current league position
Get at least a new DL as I need some backup.

I can't remember what I did to get the sponsor's names, but I have all of the right cup names for pretty much every competition, so there must be a file that fixes them floating around somewhere. The Carnegie Cup is the Irish League Cup.

Well this is already going immensely differently from my first Hungary attempt. Been given a £5k transfer budget for the new season, and also have been drawn into the League Cup. Was wondering how some Div 2 teams got in, while others didn't. This could be interesting, and at least I can experience this infamous league cup now.

I found a pack with competition names and logo's, although none were called Carnegie cup.

JSalter - NK Belisce - 2010/11 Season Update

Second Division: Prediction 8th, Finish 5th
    Croatian Cup: Quarter Finals

Well, what to say about this season? It was a strange season, that at times had me applauding our brilliance, and at others tearing my hair out (metaphorically of course). But it represents an improvement on last season, and should give us a good platform from which to construct a promotion challenge soon.

After last season, I had strengthenend our squad, in the shape of strikers Vedran Gerc and Pinheiro, as well as a new left midfielder and a talented young centre back. The signing of Pinheiro especially gave us a great start to the season, as we sat in 2nd after 10 games, with only 1 defeat. However, 5 games later, we had slipped to 8th after a poor run of results, including 2 defeats immediately before the winter break. At least we had time to think about how to arrest our form.

The break changed nothing, as we lost our next 3 matches. Over the next 6 games, we were inconsistent, beating the top team Istra 1961 and Dragovoljac, but suffering 3 defeats in that time as well. Then, something suddenly clicked again, and we won our final 6 matches, to move from 11th to 5th. I can only hope that we can sustain this good form for the whole of the season next year. Pinheiro was the league's top goalscorer, with 16 goals, finished 3rd in the Player of the Year, and was in the Team of the Season. While on the subject of awards, I unexpectantly claimed 2nd in Manager of the Year.

In the cup, we claimed another victory over top flight opposition, this time Varteks. After 3-3 away to Osijek in the Quarters, we disapointingly lost 5-1 at home to them.

Financially, it was a bad year, as we fell from slightly in the red to almost £200k in the red. Low attendances are partly the problem - our average in the league was only 295.

Targets for next season: Consistency. If we can achieve this, promotion shouldn't be too far out of our reach. At the very least, I'd like to think we can challenge for 2nd.

Just checked, and it seems there are 2 league cups, as I also have a Co-operative cup in my game which I obviously wasn't entered into. Don't know what the Carnegie Cup real name could be though.

Quick Update to add to this, Kilmore Rec are through to the Irish Cup Semi-Final with wins against Premier League Crusaders and a penalty win against Carrick, both big upsets in their own right, especially as in the shootout we missed our first 2 penalties, but Carrick then missed 3 in a row to allow Lagan to put us through to a Semi-Final tie against our parent club Cliftonville at home.

Edit: We beat Cliftonville too, 2-0 to put us into a historic Irish Cup final against Cliftonville's fellow Premiership title challengers Ballymena

kroblues Kilmore Rec Northern Irish 2nd Division 2010/11 Update

    Code:
    Season Division Position Points Notes
    2009/10 NI 2nd 5th 40 -
2010/11 NI 2nd 5th 44 Carnegie Cup winners, Lost in Irish Cup Final vs Ballymena
As you can see from that, we lost to Ballymena in the final, our luck ran out and we were outclassed from start to finish as we were smashed 4-0.

We ended up finishing 5 points off promotion, and there is a slight improvement over last season in terms of points, and there is promise for our youth as I decided to save the better players for the cup final, and they played the final game of the season against Annagh, which we ended up winning 3-2.

Trevor Parkhill was an unlikely top scorer, and he also had the most assists. I reckon that we probably need a better keeper and maybe another centre half if we are to challenge for promotion. To that end I have organised the transfer of promoted Loughgall's top scorer, and I will hope to pick up a centre half from the trial days.

Aims: Challenge for promotion, score more goals

Good season kroblues, good luck next season, hopefully you can get promotion

For next season, the media think NK Belisce will finish 9th, but the bookies have us as joint 3rd favourites for promotion. Realistically, that sounds about right, we should finish well above 9th.

Porph - Iprottafelag Reykjavikur - End of season review 2018

I dont have time to do a full review so I'll do a quick summary. We won the league again but were pushed hard by Fylkir who have a number of my ex-players. We finished 3rd in our CL group and face Sampdoria in the UEFA cup 1st round KO.

Finances sit at £14m and yet the facilities have still not been upgraded even though they were approved 4 years ago (an almost show stopping bug for me).

Iceland are ranked 6th in the coefficient for European competition now which is a huge jump and means 6/10 teams in the premier division qualify for Europe!

Gilbster - Karcag - Hungarian Division 2 East - 2010/11 End of Season Update

Well after the heights of 4th last season, this season brought us back down to earth with a bang. We brought in a few players and actually bought a few given we had a £5k transfer budget. However the best players I bought were the ones after the mid season break, which didn't help enough.

Our best new youth product got a few starts towards the end of the season, and is looking promising. Introducing Tamas Karolyi hopefully he can stay at the club for a few more years.

It may be regarded as a waste of time competition, but I did enjoy our first outing in the league cup. In a group with 4 top division sides, I can't believe we actually could have made the quarters even going into our last Group match.

Our league form was pretty indifferent all season, but ultimately I knew we had the quality to stay up at least, and the final league position, I feel flatters us a bit. We struggled to score most of the season, however I may have solved that, since the striker we had on loan last season was released and it took until May but finally he was interested in signing for us, and has been impressive again in the last 3 matches of the season.

    Squad
    Table

    Aims
Build on this season and finish higher in the table
    Hopefully score more goals too

Glad you remember me! Yeah always have played this game fast and I have no intention of going to 3d view at all, any time soon, unless I get a super duper laptop and even then I probably won't bother! 30 game league seasons just appeal so much more to me, than the length of a season in England. What worries me is that I will probably get another half season done before I go to bed tonight!

The temptation to start Gundo's challenge finally go too strong for me this weekend, after wanting to start it for at least a month. Really should go back and finish off Eastwood Town at some point, but not yet!

This is getting really frustrating. I've just started my 7th season and I've now lost 8 really key players during that period because the board have accepted a bid over my head.

Any decent talent I unearth, one good season and we have the top First Division clubs taking them from me. I've just lost a centre half who has been a rock for two seasons now (who I bought for 65k) for £1.3 million to reigning champions Dinamo.

We just can't compete. I fear relegation this season.

At least you are making a profit from them at least. Are you getting the money back to spend? Perhaps buy some older players that can keep you going while you find some more youth to try and develop away from the main squad? I'm sure you will figure out a way to stay up.

We are getting the money back and we've got plenty of money to spend but none of the experienced players in Division 1 who are good enough want to join so I'm forced to find free agents and young players from Division 2.

1 point from the opening 5 games and we're bottom of the league, already 4 points adrift.

Yeah that sounds painful. Can you still only scout Croatia?

Even if you do get relegated, I'm sure you have enough quality to bounce back straight away and probably stronger.

So, I'm avoiding Austria for a while, and jumping somewhere new. I have chosen Stal as my team for the challenge. They play in a 2900, all seater, and are professional in status. They have 2 links with other clubs, primarly a parent arrangement with Shaktar, and a feeder club in Electron Romny. It appears they have never been at this level before, their only honours a division 2 - group C win in 2004.

    League Table

At the winter break, things are looking good for us, but I can't help but feel we should be at least 4 points better off. We drew 4 games in a row before winning our final game before the break, which meant that we've been 1st for the whole season so far. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Gilbster - Karcag - Hungarian Division 2 East - 2010/11 End of Season Update

After the mild disappointment of last season, this season the boards expectations were a lot more modest, just to avoid relegation and media prediction of 11th backed up the thought that this would be a very tough season for Karcag.

I brought in some new players that I felt would strengthen the squad a bit, and due to our finish last season, we didn't have the league cup to clog up our promotion attempts.

I think one of the stars of our season, was the goalkeeper that came through our youth system last season, and was almost ever present this year in goal - Tamas Karolyi and he also managed 15 clean sheets, which had to help our ambitions.

The season didn't start off too well, being knocked out of the Hungarian Cup in the 2nd round, followed by a fairly indifferent start to the season. And then as the team gelled so did the desire to move up the table, win matches and ultimately it came down to the last match of the season.

    Table
    Graph

As you can see from the above table, we have in fact been promoted, much to the delight of the board and fans. I personally predict a very tough season next year, as I am not sure if any of our players are good enough for the top division, or what the difference between the divisions is like.

Decided to give up my Kilmore game and have a go at Iceland, I was probably going to get sacked anyway as we started the new season terribly. So here we go again with KS/Leiftur.

    Personal

With no staff whatsoever and so no way of telling how good the squad are, and a chairman that wants to leave, it could be an interesting 3 months until the start of the season. Updates to come hopefully

On Karcag's promotion to the first divsion we have turned professional, and can now scout the continent. Just need to hire some more scouts fast, as we only have a month for the transfer window.

I think its just the English leagues that I struggle with. I think hiring an ass man with decent judging player attributes has helped, and finding a few decent players has been useful too. Besides these smaller nations the challenge is winning the CL, so if I can stay up (media prediction of 16th), the real aim will be total domestic domination within a few seasons, if possible.

You don't half rattle through seasons Gilbster

    NK Sampion 2016-17 Season Review

    Slovenian First Division
    Media Prediction: 4th
    Finished: 3rd

A little bit of progess was made, some more quality arrived at the club, and we got more points than last season, but actually, we finished further adrift of

the top two as Maribor in particular and Domzale were both too consistent for us.

Top Scorer - Evzen Sedlak(11) - Great things expected from this boy, but given

the level of interest in him, I doubt it will be here...

    Pokal Hervis
Went on a nice little run to the final. Sadly, when we got there, Maribor were waiting, and a clash with Euro U19 qualifiers, along with suspensions, meant

we only had 9 senior players for the final. 2-1 was a great result in the circumstances.

    Finalists

    UEFA CUP

We're unseeded, so of course we get the worst possible draw, 22nd in the co-efficients Olympiakos. A 2-1 defeat in Greece, followed by a 0-0 at home is

perfectly respectable, but it's not progress now is it...

Another good season there Spotg. Hope your UEFA cup run is a bit longer next season.

I don't believe it, I am already on the Karcag favoured personnel list. Really not sure I will be able to get any strength in this season, due to the ridiculously short transfer window, and the ammount of time it takes to scout anywhere outside of Hungary. I think my aim has to be, stay in contention of safety for the first half and then after the winter break, pray I can sign in some stars.

Edit: Well managed to get this guy before the deadline at least. He is easily the best player in the club.

not sure what the standard is like in hungary but palecek looks like he would be class in nearly any league in the game, if he improves at all he could be an international player and be hard to keep hold off.

    I did get 2.5m + 2.5m after 1st international + 50% next fee

But Sampion cannot ever expand past 500 capacity thanks to the wonderful council

Thanks and yeah wish people would just accept that some people can play this game a lot faster than others, without drawing attention to it. I dont need constant reminders that I have nothing else to do when I'm at home apart from play FM.

Thats pretty good going too aaberdeenn. My squad is definitely being strengthened at the mid season transfer window. It suddenly occured to me that I could switch some unused wage budget into transfer budgets, so that I can purchase some players. Just hope they will do the job and keep me up.

Anyone else think that players should be marked somewhere whether they are EU National or not? I can never remember some countries whether they are actually EU yet or not.

I wouldn't worry about it. Many of those that would look down their noses at you for playing computer games would happily spend the same amount of time slumped on the couch watching Cash in the attic etc etc.

On the contract offer screen, doesn't it say 'you may have a maximum of x non-EU players in the squad (currently y)' or something like that? But I agree that there needs to be some clearer indication than that earlier on, like in the scout reports.

I'm not sure, I have a habit of not reading everything that I possibly should do on screen. I'm tired and ill this evening so its possible that I'm missing the obvious.

Table at the half way stage of my first season in Division 1.

At the end of the first round of games we have amassed 8 points and sit bottom of the league 2 points from safety. Amazingly, our solitary victory came away at league leaders Cibalia. We were also 1-0 down in that game which we came back to win 2-1.

At least it's close down the bottom, and there's plenty of time to start moving up the table.

Cibalia top? I just played them in the promotion playoff.

We're losing something like 300k per year.

The sale of Sedlak has just put us 2m into the black, so I can finally get some training and youth upgrades, which will help matters, but until we hit the magic number that allows a brand new stadium to be built somewhere, Sampion will continue to be a selling club scraping by on Czech offcasts.

    How are your finances?

And is anyone else having to scrape by with a 500 capacity ground?

We've just made the Croatian Cup quarter finals for the first time in my 7 year reign.

We've lost in Round 1 twice and Round 2 four times in my previous six years. It's probably a good thing but the competition goes to a two legged affair now so it'll add two additional midweek fixtures to the schedule which aren't neccessarily ideal when you're fighting relegation.

Gilbster - Karcag - Hungarian Division 1 - 2012/13 End of Season Update

After the promotion last season, we turned professional, and are now allowed to scout the whole of Europe.

Well there was only 1 goal for this season, and that was survival, and I would have been delighted with 14th place, the fist place of safety, so I am ecstatic that we went one better and finished in 13th. We were predicted to finish bottom, so you have to love beating the prediction.

The real turn of form came in January, once I realised I had some transfer funds, I spent quite a lot of them on some quality players, that were much better than I had already. And I already have a new Bulgarian central defender coming in the close season.

Zdenek Pospisil - bought for £20k
    Vladimir Palecek - bosman

Since my last league update we've took 4 points from the three games we've played and are now tied with 11th on 12 points. 2 points away from complete safety in 10th.

SC Rotor Volgograd – Russian Premier Division – 2019

    Media Prediction: 2nd
    Final Position: 2nd

Russian Cup 2019/20: Quarter Final , through to the quarter final after a 2-0 win over FC Mosow rest of the cup to be played next season.

    League Table

    Domestic

A good season where i gained a deserved champions league spot, i had a tough run in but managed to stay in one of the needed European spots, this season the league was given 5 European places with 3 going to the champions league for the first time which is huge benefit for this challenge. My good season was due my impressive home form where i won 14 out of the 15 games played at central and drew the other whereas my away for was dismal only winning 6 games which i need to improve on next season.

    Europe

After a good season in the UEFA cup reaching the quarters i had another shot at the Champions League starting in the group stage where i was to face Man Utd, Lille and Dinamo Kiev. An 88th minute winner over Man Utd and the other fixture in the group going in my favor put me through to the knockout phase of the Champions League for the first time.

    Group Stage

    Next Season:
    Improve away form
Try to hold my own in the knockout phase
Qualify from the group stage once again

Through to the semi-finals after winning on penalties after two 0-0 draws.

We lost that semi-final 4-2 on aggregate against Hajduk Split (we conceded all four goals in the opening 18 minutes of the first leg) so we've just the league remaining. 8 games to go and we're still a part of this relegation battle but we have the upperhand on our rivals as things stand.

I'm confident we can survive.. again.

Good luck with the rest of the season

I'm going to write my update now, at last.
