SmurfDude
So while playing some matches I suddenly thought "hmm the grass isn't green enough for my taste", so rather than put up with stuff I don't like, i change it. Now what's peoples opinion on it? Before After My next venture may be to make some better stadiums
Matezz
How did you do it mate? Can you put that for download?
SmurfDude
How did you do it mate? Can you put that for download? I edited the DDS files I might make some completely new and improved higher res textures for the grass and release them, will have to see
Scott_90
nice work.
liam_tmt7
some nice work there. Better stadiums would be ace
Super Bladesman
The grass is always greener on the oth... oh wait, no - nice job
Lordarod
good work, I noticed that too. After seeing the demo all I could think of was "contrast... ahhh we need more contrast!" so good work. Editing all of them takes so long. And the pitch line curves seemed so perfect too; I edited them so they seem less perfect. Maybe I'll release it. Temmyzzz
Looks alot better mate.. Nice work
SmurfDude
I have changed the majority of pitch textures now to a better shade of green. The zip file however comes to a whopping 134MB in size I'll show a few more screens. If this generates enough interest I'll upload them
Aim_Less
please upload it looks awsome

TomDixon77
Smurfdude, try using .7z compression (using 7zip), when I've used it, they come out at about half the size of zip files.
SmurfDude
I'm uploading them now. I'll add a link in here once it's done. Could a mod change the thread title to something more specific like 'Release - Greener grass textures'?
VDVaart
Looks nice and bright, would be cool to see a waterlogged pitch
yNnOs
Looks Too Bright IMO.
LemonTea
I have been doing sniffing about, the grass textures are in the "meshes" folder, they are in .dss file format. All you need is this tool, its FREE as well, called "DDS Convertor 2", just google it! Install it, load the textures in and convert to what GFX format your happy with, then edit them and convert back .dds! Its that simple
SmurfDude
Thanks Neji yNnOs - I don't think they are any brighter than the default textures, I simply changed them to a darker and more natural shade of green

SmurfDude
weres the link to download??? Thanks to the craptastic broadband available to us here in the jolly old UK, it is taking awhile to get it uploaded But while it is uploading I am trying to create completely new grass textures. It's quite tricky, as anything too detailed looks odd in relation to the simplistic stadium and player textures

SmurfDude
Fileplanet the worst site EVER. Where exactly do I go to download? Unfortunately the other sites I tried were unreliable and kept freezing, so I had little choice Just choose one of the free servers to download from
FFFJeff
Many thanks, big thumbs up!
23drd23
Cheers, downloading now. I prefer to have my grass green, not the yellowing excuse for grass that is the default. One question though. Does this affect the pitch showing deterioration? (will it still show a brown patch down the middle when you need to re-lay the pitch?)
homerjnick
Just played the first game with this and see no difference....
SmurfDude
Those are very much just quick improvements. I'm going to do some better ones in the forthcoming weeks Before After
SmurfDude
Just played the first game with this and see no difference.... There definitely IS a difference. Maybe you got a damp pitch, I haven't changed those Cheers, downloading now. I prefer to have my grass green, not the yellowing excuse for grass that is the default. One question though. Does this affect the pitch showing deterioration? (will it still show a brown patch down the middle when you need to re-lay the pitch?) It doesn't affect it in any way. There are a few hundred different pitch textures covering a variety of pitch conditions I haven't done all of them yet
ron.e
I've just downloaded the file and put it in the textures folder but i see no difference what so ever. Have i put it in the right place and do i have to re-load the skin for it to work? Thanks
