the title describes nearly every seasons form for my team

start of the season im woeful, losing at home to teams tipped for relegation

middle of the season i wont be beaten for a twelve game stretch

end of the season i fall to pieces

does anyone else experience this?

is there something anyone can suggest to address it?

even when i change to a defence minded formation in my bad patches its like my players just dont know what to do

and i follow folwfs teamtalks so im not sure its those that are to blame

I get the same problem, barely get a point in aug and begining of sep, go through to xmas losing only another 2 games, and tail off by apr.

Its not a fitness thing as they are often fitter when they are losing!

it has to be a mental thing, confidence maybe.

This happened to me at QPR. Started off averagely (not badly, just drew a lot of games), then made a mid-season charge to 4th in the table.

Only needed a win from the last two games to get a playoff place, against a mid-to-low-table team, and yes, you guessed it, lost, and ended up 9th (!).

I took it as the computer screwing me out of a play-off place but if tiredness is a factor all the time then fair enough. I wouldn't mind but I did rotate the majority of my squad.
