1-2-2-3-3 Tweebier plug and play great results

Recommended Posts

Been puzzling for quite some time, but now I feel that this tactic is really working. Tried it with Man United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, PSV and Den Bosch. Didnot change a thing, didnot buy players, staff or whatever. Just plugged it and played. To test it I went on holiday until the end of the season. Left everything to my assistent manager. But if you play for yourself the tactics work even better.

The results:

Man. United 1st (prediction 3rd)

Newcastle United 3rd (prediction 9th)

Aston Villa 4th (prediction 18th)

PSV 1st (prediction 1ste)

Den Bosch 1st (prediction 12th)

What i found out is that 2 roaming playmakers and 1 deep lying playmaker in midfield works for the best. That 2 attacking wingbacks are extremely usefull, better than wingers. They had 15-30 assists each a season. Shaw had 27 assists, Darmian 30, Arias (PSV) also 27, Willems (PSV 23). And if you have the money, buy the best poacher you can get. I used Depay 47 goals, De Jong (Psv) 44 goals and they arent even that good.

This is the tactic for download

With Man United, PSV and Den Bosch I used very fluid and attacking. With Aston Villa and Newcastle I used control and very fluid to get the best results.

Tactic for strong teams (attacking)

Tactic for weaker teams (control)

This is a great tactic (The control version).

Its a possession based attacking formation, your strikers will get most of the goals, but the rest of the side do weigh in with the odd goal.

I took over at Hull in October 2016 and they was languishing down in 18th and in my first 10 games I only managed to win 4 draw 1 and lose 5.

I then switched to this tactic for January 2017 and it has propelled me from 20th up to 4th in 17 games, I have won 13 drew 1 and lost 3 (all by 1 goal), scoring 48 and conceding 16. With 5 games to go I am almost dead certs for promotion.

I'm using the tactic (attacking) with Millwall in the championship, Really like it, knocked Southampton and Arsenal out of the FA cup as well. only question, how important are the wingback tackling? Because i might retrain some wingers I have to wing back

Hi wixta79

Tackling for a wingback is always important, as is speed, positioning, marking etc. But I have used players as a wingback who were not good at anything and they all gave 15 assists or more and had 4 of 5 tackles a match. What i really like is agressive wingbacks in winning the ball back. But I still have not figured out what is making some of them so agressive. It certainly isnot agression alone. Maybe you have any ideas.

Good luck.

I loaded this up in my Leicester save in Jan 2019 and went on holiday just to test it. Finished 3rd and didn't lose a game for the rest of the season, started the next season really well too, it's a great tactic! My team seem to come out the traps fantastically first half and the wing backs get tonnes of assists. Mayke got 30 in first season although he and the other WB run themselves into the ground every game. Haven't managed to get the best out of anyone in the poacher role so far but great otherwise.

Well worth a go if you're struggling for a taxtic

Hey Tweebier, just wanted to say great work, this tactic deserves much more attention than it's getting. I tested it in the Turkish 2nd league with Busupor. No idea about them, just plugged and played and it performed really well, they didn't even have the players for the tactic but was winning the league a team predicted 6th. Switched to a new Arsenal save I'm playing right now and the results have been really, really good. Definetely reccomend this to people who have had enough of all the overhyped tactics out thier at the moment.

EDIT: I'm using Control version

I'm using the attacking version for NAC Breda in Jupiler league (Netherlands). I started unemployed and applied for job, got given it on the 19th December 2015, just before the winter break. They were 16th in the league and now I'm top of the league with 4 matches left of league campaign. Looking good, but too many bookings!.

Hi Guys

BTFC. A good poacher..I am also very curious. How a real good one will do. But I do not have the money yet to buy a big name. Playing with PSV now.

Dcarey2014: Thanks for your kind words. I have been testing the hell out of this tactic, so for me it is the best. I really wanted to make a tactic with 1 central defender and 2 wingbacks and 2 deep lying playmakers in front of them. The football was amazing with this tactic, but sometimes I was hit hard on the counter and lost 3-6 or something like that. So I had to switch to 2 central defenders.

Carlos EsDios: how is this tactic working for you in non League?

Advice: What an amazing result! Really impressed with that. Did you get that promotion with NAC? I hope so. NAC always should play in the Eredivisie :)

Not working for me. Terrible pre-season and I just got smashed 6-1 by utd. I'm Liverpool.

I wouldn't normally do away with a tactic so quickly but we're all over the place in every game so far and wide open.

Thanks for your effort anyway.

Haven't chance this morning to finish off the season, maybe later in the evening. But added another picture, as you can see I've got a problem with too many fouls being made with lots yellow cards and few red cards as well. Did you have the same problem with this?.

Yeah. I am now playing with PSV and got 65 yellow cards and 2 red in 34 games. But it is not a problem for me as long as they win.

This has been awful for me - 0-6, 1-5, 0-1, 1-4, only created 2 CCCs in 4 games and every time they go forward a man breaks through to support the breaking man and isn't tracked by midfielders and has an open goal basically

Hi Champfan10

Good to see that it worked so well for you. I hope you will get that promotion!

For me so far, it worked with every team i have tried. I am curious if more people have tried it and what the results are...

I ended up losing in the play off final but I had a paper thin squad. Just finished my second season with Hull and won the Championship with 103 points. Wing-Backs are immense in this tactic.

I can understand it not working for you but to for it to be that bad you must be doing something wrong.

Surely if it's plug and play you can't get it *that* wrong?! I'm in about my 8th season and was bored with slightly overachieving so wanted to try something else....when I watch the game I just get hammered on the break and end up with 3 attackers v my 2 centre backs constantly and they score every shot on target

Finished first season with NAC Breda as champions of Jupiler League and seven (7) points clear of Fortuna Sittard. Pretty good I think also eighteen matches unbeaten run (P 18, W 15, D 3, L 0) since taking over. Saved it now, I will play the second season another day when I've got time to concentre on it.

I gave pre season a go with Liverpool when i went on holiday. I had no troubles.

Similar to marks question, at what stage would you say to swtich from control to attacking?

For stronger teams I recommened attacking. Lets say the best 6-7 teams of a league.

When things go bad for me during a match. It is hard to say. Depends what is going wrong. Do I miss changes or is the opponent too strong? Do they kill me on the counterattack?

I pause, and take a look at the stats. Is there a playmaker who is causing all this problems? A lot of keypasses for instance? (manmark him) Is my poacher missing al these changes? Why?

Just look and change something you are the coach :).

im going to give it a try with Southampton in the prem , Which version should i use and are there any OI's or who should take corners ? Long throws etc?

I recommend controll for southhampton.

Corners and long throws..It is all up to you. Use your best man. I do the same.

Ipswich, but I'm a few seasons in - I'm a fairly established mid-lower table Prem team using control. Just had got bored of finishing between 11th and 15th so was trying something different but this has dropped me into relegation zone in January so I'm worried about my job!

Very strange. Used it with Ipswich with attacking, went on holiday till the end of the season. Finished 1ste while prediction was 9th! Took me 15 minutes. You must be doing something wrong... Do you change much during games? Maybe it is team talks?

I'm in the Prem a few seasons in so not that compatible a test. I'll try attack on a test save as worry it will lead to me getting the sack and have a play around with it.

Do you use any OI as standard? Should I clear the ones the assman picks for me?

Hi Wakers

No, I use none. Have tried it though with a lot of closing downg and weaker foot, but didnot see any obvious results. Let the assistant pick the OI if you have a good one.

But I am going to test this, this week.

Hi Tweebier,

I'm trying out attacking version again in France, started unemployed again. I've just taken the Le Havre in Ligue 2, the date is 23/10/2015 and they're 18th in the league.

I've noticed in the Le Havre squad they have a lot of wide players/wingers (AML & AMR), would you train them to play the role of a wing back or would go for deep lying forward in your system. What did you do with your wide players in your squad in your previous saved games?.

I'm thinking any of them who can tackle train them as wing backs and one's who can't tackle train them as deep lying forwards.

Played three matches so far not working yet, lost all three. H 1-2 lost, H 3-4 lost cup match & A 3-0 lost. Plus three sending offs, one in every game so far. Frustration has hit after it went so well in first test run in my NAC Breda saved game, but I did join them just before winter break and played three friendlies in the winter break to help me getting them started on learning the tactic, it's only at competent stage with Le Havre. So patience will be needed on saved game.

Hey advice

I would sell them all and buy new players. No use in retraining them if tackling and positioning is too low. That takes too long to train.

Just look at the stats when you buy new players. I look at things like interceptions, key tackles, key headers, cross completed ratio, keypasses etc. That stuff really makes a difference.

An example: I just bought for my PSV squad Ter Avest from Twente because of his interceptions, key tackling and key headers. Now my defence is solid. This guy makes 458 interceptions in 40 games, has 101 key headers!!! He is so important.

I played 28 games in Eredivsie and won 27 of them. Just beat PSG in Champions League 1/8 finales 4-1 and 2-2, and made it to in de Dutch Cup final.

Every year I pick up 2-3 good players who are specialist in some areas. I am sure that if I take over Barcelona in 5 years (that is my goal :), they will hammer everybody with this tactic, because I can buy all the right top players.

Good luck with Le Havre. Maybe it is better to play controll tactic if they are not so good.

Tweebier,

Please, you can take a screenshot of general training and preparation for the game?

Thanks.

Hi

I leave all training to my assistent. I do not care about it at all. Because I do not see any obvious results or difference when I do it myself.

Here is the screenshot

I kept going as am bit bored of current game and it came good eventually and spetacularly...

After 7 deserved defeats and 25 goals conceded I beat Burnley 3-1 in a dominating performance lost 2-0 in a close game and then was 2-0 up against Man U after 5 minutes.........and then fell 5-2 down at half time.

A last minute equaliser against me in next game and things seemed sorted, before another 2-0 to 2-5 against Liverpool!

I then beat Forest 3-0, lost 3-2 to Arsenal before a relegation 6 pointer vs Watford who were 4 points ahead of me on 17th........6-0 up at half time and eventually finished 7-0!

Next game I beat Newcastle 4-0, then Boro 3-1 to confirm avoidance of relegation with 1 game left.

Hopefully it has now clicked with 4 wins in 5 and 19 goals scored....but took a while!

do you change anything if you`re in front like taking wing backs of attacking?

I only change when I am behind and the opponent is playing better and having far more shots on goal.

Sometimes I go back from attacking to controll or I manmark their playmaker- the one who is causing all the problems. Or close him down, put on weaker foot etc.

But the formation stays the same.

But that is only in the beginning. The first 1-2 years. My team is getting better and better now, because I buy specifiek players every year. So it is all plug and play now :)

Won this year with PSV 32 of 34 matches in Eredivisie. Scored 126-13 goals. Won Champions League with 10 men against Real Madrid and Dutch Cup.

And my team isnot that good. Most expensive player was Bakker from ADO for 6 million, Ter Avest for 5,5 million and my striker Araujo for 5 million. I find it strange these results with such mediocre players.

Wow!!! So Patience is being rewarded :) But that is all really interesting. How is that possible 2-0 in front and than losing 2-5...2 times. It sounds spectacular... I hope you are having fun.

But these 7 deserved defeats. That bothers me. That has never happend with me, whatever team i picked and put it on plug and play. Maybe you have a really crappy team? Or are just unlucky with the wrong players for a position. I do not know.

I find the results to be a bit incosistent for me. First game I used this tactic was agains Doncaster

ItnJJOe.png

Not a great squad, but should be able to perform OK

Also feel I'm being constantly let down by my defence, believe 4 cones could have done a better job. My defenders currently are: Seamus Coleman, Nathan Clyne, Jetro Willems, Leighton Baines, Matrin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez, Emanuel Mammana

Just stick with the tactic and see how it goes or?

Can someone post the team and player instructions so I can use this on FMT?

Cheers!

If you download the tactics and put them in your C:\Users\Your name\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2016\tactics folder, you will be able to use them in FMT.
