Supat Rungratsamee & Anatoli Todorov - CM 03/04
Supat Rungratsamee & Anatoli Todorov - CM 03/04
i had a fred named recep simsek in my cm01-02 game i guess. he was only mediocre if you looked at his numbers but he was an assasin in front of goal.
also i liked dillon shepherd a lot (dmrlc from ajax ct), south african. i had him retire and became my coach, later assistant. he was my never born brother...
i heard the "legends" such as tsigalko, nikiforenko etc, but never purchased them myself. i feel it ruins the game when such commonly known names have incredible impact on the team... also i have not used the diablo tactics too...
Boring - another thread that has been done a million times before
Anyone remember the Columbian team from 97/98? William Cabreara (sp), Freddy Leon... great players.
not sure what version.
marco van basten on cmitalia!
and on the original cm i had a player who worked for si, then domark, called collyer.
he was quality
i loved the italian leagues for CM2, cut my teeth on that! Was always Sampdoria
1. Lasse Olsen of Stromgodset
2. Victor Leonenko of Kiev
3. Kameni because i won the World Cup with him
Gilles Domoraud AM RC - CM 01/02. Looked absolutely rubbish, but was absolutely awesome!
P.S I win the thread.
wat about simon davies on cm 99/00 i think it was better then beckham by the 3rd season
and on the same game andres dallesandro was awesome
FM 09 Mascio.
And whilst were on that note here are some more:
Tonton Zola Moukoko
Sylvain Wiltord (earlier versions)
Tevez and Torres on FM07, best partnership i've had, ever.
Surprised no one has mentioned Carl Laurie (Crewe) and James Flood (Stockport) for CM3 I think it was. Carl Laurie managed to become an England international for me with Manchester United as a left back, and James Flood scored 100+ goals in a season in Premier League.
Good times for sure!
My favorite CM / FM player of all time still is Cassio Alves Guilherme. I had him in my Real Madrid team in my first CM game. I bought him every game afterwards. Boy, he was a star. In that save I also had Stéphane Guivarc'h, Roberto Rios and Bruno N'Gotty in my team. It was just super.
Cant remember what version it was, A player called David collins i think, you could buy him for 20k and he was world class and would go to any club.
Anyone remember him or did i dream it ?
CM3 Pablo Aimar
CM 00/01 Juan Veron / Gaizka Mendieta
CM 01/02 Christian Vieri / Tomas Rosicky
FM06 Sherman Cardenas
FM08 Sergio Aguero
FM09 Leo Messi
FM10 Luka Modric
can't remember specific players/versions for all others
Surely everyone remembers Kaka on a free transfer on one of the champ mans?
Also Kleberson and Arteta
Cm 00/01 Alex Notman the best striker all time
Marco Van Basten from the Italia 95 update on the Amiga. Started injured but averaged over 8.0 a game. Awsome player!
Ibrahimovic, even back when he was unknown ! Back then I liked him only for his name, never thought he'd become my RL football idol The day he moved to Juventus IRL I was overjoyed, favorite player at favorite club ! Sad Juve had to be demoted then :'(
Eddie Johnson (sp?), the American with awesome physical attributes on FM08, he was like a goal machine and the first person I would always sign.
Stefan Selakovic(99/00 or 00/01).......... And Freddy Rincon (98/99)....
vela - 07
Vyescheslav Hleb - 07 (anyone know what the hell happened to him)
Freddy guarin - 06
Alex Song - 05
Mons Iver Mjelde, a striker from Molde in CM97/98 is a bit of a cult hero of mine
I only ever signed him at Man U for around a £1 million, could never sign him anywhere else but he was immense
Duncan Ferguson= THE BEST
Bloody Johnier Montano and Jason Koumas from CM4, Aguero & Kerlon from 05 and now Jimmy Briand and Lorenzo Crisetig.
Evandro Roncatto (must have been 04 or 05)
van der vaart 08 -scored about 60 in a season
Kerlon 06 and 07 - amazing player
Freddy Grisales from way back when...Lebohang Mokena - goal machine,
Ochoa and Boruc deserve a mention too.
Javier Acuna from Cadiz on 07 or 08 - just amazing.
Ged Kimmins 95/96 1k from Salford City, highest stat was a 5 for heading, scored 116 goals in 122 appearances for my Man Utd team.
Jimmi Nielsen 93/94, Liverpool reserve keeper. Bought him for preston, and had to play him in central defence in an emergency, got a 10 rating, played him there for 5 years, rating never went below 7 once. Legend.
CM 92/93 - perhaps John Williams
CM '94 - Don Hutchinson
CM Italia '94 - Daniele Beltrammi
CM 00/01 - Tonton Zola Moukouko / Kennedy Bakirloglu / Dario Househam
FM2010 - perhaps Edin Dzeko
FM 10= Rooney
FMall round= Aguero
probably in CM 00/01 the best players i ever saw was: Pawel Brozek (Wisla), Marcin Harasimowicz(Gwardia), Derek Boateg (Kalamata, the best player!), Horacio Walter Peralta (probably Nacional (URU), maybe Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kim Kallstrom and Kennedy Bakircioglu (all from Sweden)
in older versions: Jose Julian De La Cuesta (DLC from Colombia), Oskitz Estefania (AMC from Spain), Freddy Guarin (DMC from Colombia/Envigado?)
Phil Maguire CM4, scored from just outside my box with a free kick
FM 04-06 - Joaquin whilst at Betis was fb
FM 07 - Gojko Kacar
FM 08 - Mika Aaritalo (Prior to patch) / Javier Acuna
FM 09 - Alan Dzagoev
FM 10 - James Rodriguez, Edin Dzeko, Lucas Digne
Older versions - Maxim Tsigalko was a moster, Anatoli Todorov from Litex was a beast as well, Agahowa and Mark Kerr were also immense
Darijo Srna in FM10, probably. His assists made Man City champions easily.
The favourite player I've ever managed in my as-of-yet short time playing FM (just under a year IRL) is this man: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fernand...ndez_Escribano
On FM09, I signed him on a free for Peterborough United in the 2011/12 season when he was 32. I'd been managing at York and Chelmsford before Peterborough headhunted me in October asking to help out - they were precariously close to the drop zone in League 1 due to having several players who thought they were too good to belong at the club after being relegated from the Championship the previous year. After shoring up a young and ambitious squad with some experienced frees (Richard Cresswell, Aaron Mokoena), I signed Fernando in the January transfer window.
We immediately switched from our established 4-5-1 to a 4-4-1-1 putting him in the hole. For the rest of the season, we proceeded to tear the division apart as he became the heart of everything we did - our main playmaker, scoring long shots, free kicks, injury time winners, you name it. Thanks to him we just reached the final playoff spot on the final day of the season due to GD. We ended up getting knocked out in the semis by Doncaster (I think), and key players like Joe Lewis and Stephen Ward left soon after, but it was still a great achievement considering where they were when I arrived.
I ended up deleting the save soon after in an attempt to focus on university work, but he was a big part on what has to be my favourite season so far on FM. I'm sure we would have been promoted the following season with him at the centre alongside the new signings I made. A cult figure if ever there was one.

It is always nice to read about players that you found in FM, only to find out that they became real life legends too. (I heard from Trezeguet and Henry, first from CM and afterwards from the TV.) CM-legend Kennedy Bakircioglu is in real life now playing at my favourite team Ajax by the way.
In Championship Manager Season 97/98 I always used to sign a 16 or 17 year old Brazilian player called Claudio. He was amazing every time. I also vaguely remember signing a young Spanish midfielder call Orbaiz who always came good.
I can't remember what version of CM it was but my mate always bought this striker called Shaun Devine for dirt cheap for his Leicester team and he'd always score against my Leeds team (when both were in Prem)
Kennedy Bakircioglu back on CM99 if anyone remembers him (zlatan muslimovic was also great)
And alot of other players...
Arjen Robben (01 I think..when he was still at Groningen)
Maxim Tsigalko (from 03 to 07)
Guarin on (06 and 07)
I win or at least tie
I've scanned this whole thread and did obody ever buy supat rungratsamee as a 14 yr old from pompey's academy?? everytime i started a newcastle game he would play from the second he came 2 my team - then, hoping he would pick england as his adopted country (90% of the time he would) when i was england manager he would bang hat-tricks in for fun!! pure legend - him and a regen (i think) called giuseppe manco for my roma game - good times
Tonton Zola Moukoko - CM 03/04
have just noticed reece name-dropped him at the top lol. least someone else mention the GREATEST player of all time on the series lol
Douglas Costa (FM09)
in CM4 I really liked to sign Nigel Pierre and Collin Samuel.
Tevez before his england move was immense think it was 05 and could get him for 5-6 million pounds, quality.
Daniel Montenegro in CM01/02.
He powered my Marseille team to 7 successive league titles from the AMC position.
The best might have been Nii Lamptey on CM2, I think.
My favourite players are Chris Bart-Williams, Simon Funnell, Lee Clarke (all on CM93) and Kennedy Bakircioglü on CM0001.
All CM guys only. Never been the same since
Can't believe I forgot to add Knox Cameron and Quavas Kirk....They led my Tigres side to within one goal of being World Champions
Three goal scoring legends for me were;
Andri Sigspursson - Cost next to nothing.
Ibrahim Bakayoko - 20's everywhere in his stats.
Jardel - Couldn't stop scoring.
Willie Howie was a young, very cheap, Scottish midfielder who could handle himself in the premier league from the start. I'm going back to CM 00/01 for these.
Pardon the poor spelling.
I don't know exactly the game versions, because I've been playing since CM98/99 if I remember correctly. In fact, I feel I've always been playing this game. Those names are usually from old versions of the game, because those days I was playing intensively. So, let's make a list:
Gk: Costanzo, Dionisis Chiotis, Isaakson
D: Taribo West (who was a free agent on one version of the game), Walter Samuel (was by far the best DC)
M: Selakovic, Barsom, Kim Kallstrom, Gamst Pedersen, Mark Kerr, Lee Chun Soo, D'Alessandro, Gallardo, Farnerud, Pablo Aimar, Alex from Cruzeiro
ST:Cavenaghi, Todorov, Tsigalko (the last 2 were goal machines), To Madeira, Cherno Samba, Pazzini, Landon Donovan, Wesley Sonck, Emille Mpenza,
In FM2010 i've remarked Guillermo Ochoa (great GK) and Javier Chevantón - who's been scoring an average of 1goal/game since I've transfered him to my Hannover 96 team (half a season).
Viktor Leonenko from about CM97/98
Ruben Ruiz Diaz - Paraguayan GK. You'd need to load a 16MB game to spawn him, but he was class for £700k.
Teddy Lucic - Sweedish DC. Brilliant player.
John Curtis - Man U usually wouldn't let him leave for at least a couple of seasons, but he was brilliant.
Debray Dario Silva - A bit pricey at £7m, but I always stuck him the "hole" in my Liverpool team and watched him average 7.9 every season.
Tommy Svindal Larsen - Can't believe he isn't in every 2nd post on this thread. Brilliant player.
Dionosis Chiotis - Greek GK.
Juan Manuel Pinto - Spanish GK. Starts at Celta Vigo, but Won European Goalie of the Year about 6 times for me at Liverpool.
Taribo West - DLC. Premiership standard and free at the start of the game.
Bakirciouglu, Kerr, Selakovic, and Samba have been mentioned a good few times, but there was also Jonas Lunden (another Swede) and Armand One, a French striker who'd start the game at Cambridge and be brilliant in a couple of seasons. I also frequently snapped up an out of favour Simone Inzaghi and got good seasons out of him.
Lower division Scotland: Peter Dwyer, what a player
Came across this thread while looking for an old player, but I had to put my top player(s) from CM 00-01. Jose Barroso, who could be picked up for a few quid from Larisa nd Clayton from Porto's B team, both were Brazilian and were amazing for my Barnsley side, plus you could get a 16y/o Carlos Martins for nothing and David Fox for nothing as well. Them were the days!
99/00 Maxim Tsigalko
Mauro Esposito, not sure which edition but a good few years ago. Could play as a striker or wide. I played him left wing for Liverpool and he was the best player i've had. Dont think anyone else has mentioned him.
I had good fun with Lebohang Mokoena, Sherman Cardenas and Carlos Idriss Kameni - all cheap and managed to turn out spectacular if you were a bit lucky... 2006 i think...?
Orrí Freyr Oskarsson I remember was quite good in the game, never heard of him in real life.
In the same game(s) (CM 3,03/04) Källström was quite overrated but he was very highly touted at Djurgården and everyone thought he'd become very good, he kind of slowed down his development at Rennes/Lyon though. He could be had very cheap because of a transfer clause too.
Forget what year he was in, but Nii Lamptey......what a player
In this years game, my first signing is ALWAYS Counago. And I always get him, no matter what league i'm in (even as low as Havant & Waterlooville - a semi-pro team). And he always performs. Good for 15-20 goals for at least two seasons.
From what I can remember. Will try to keep to 3 per position.
GK: Stipe Pletikosa (CM 03/04 and a couple of FM's), Kasper Schmeichel (CM 03/04), Hugo Lloris (FM 08)
Def: Razvan Rat (CM 03/04), Mirel Radoi (poss FM 07/08?), Steven Taylor (FM 08)
Mid: Matias Fernandez (FM 08), Toledo (CM 03/04), Tonton Zola Moukoko (CM 01/02), Miguel Veloso (FM 08 - FM 12)
Att: Sergio Aguero (FM 08), Ibrahim Bakayoko (CM 97/98), Wesley Sonck (can't remember what version)
Alessandro Simonetta (CM 03/04)
Van der Borre (FM 08)
Jason Evans (regen in FM 12)
Denilson (CM 97/98)
Jan Latuskva (sp?) (can't remember what version)
What memories most of these names conjure up- I think I have signed almost all of them at one time or another
Dionisis Chiotis was a total keeper. Best I've ever had I think.
Stefan Selekavic, Zola Tonton Moukoko and Kim Kallstrom were probably the best midfielders I've ever had. Strangely though, Moukoko never had good marks, but if you played him in the hole behind the front 2, he would get you 30+ goals a season.
I bought Kasper Schmeicel from Man City years ago, sat him on the bench for Fulham, and from the second season onwards, he was the best keeper in the world!!
Stan Collymore in about 1999 for fulham was truely brilliant (he is one of my favourite players of all time though IRL)
Thiago Silva when he was still in Brazil and another Brazilian defender called Hugo. Used to get him for about £50k and his marks started off fairly shocking, but if you played him in the first team for a few season, was the best defender in the game!!
Christopher Katango FM 06 I think, was amazing for me
CM2- Lajos Detari- Hungarian AM/FC who would get 20+ assists and goals with my Celtic team every season.
CM01/02- Skalidis and Palermo were immense upfront
If I had to chose one it would have to be Bakayoko.
Supat Rungratsamee is one of my fave players. Was absolutely deadly in attack on CM 03/04 in 2015/2016 for me alongside Robinho.
www.fmbosnia.com - The game starts here
Paul Warhurst, Cantona, Gazza, Giggs, Bart Williams, Lamtpey, Ferdinand, Shearer, Ince in 93/94. Will have to play that again soon. Had some classic seasons.
Cesar Sampaio, Robbie Stockdale, Alex Nottman, Marc Kerr on older versions. There must be more, just can't think of them.
Geoff Pitcher. Free-kick legend.
Karl Bermingham on FM 2006. Signed for Stalybridge in the Conference, went on to captain multiple Champions League wins for the same team.
Javier Portillo back when he was going to be the next big thing, but you cant beat Gylfi on FM12 I must say .
Keane, Saviola, Bakayoko (something like that?), Freddy Adu was so highly anticipated but he never worked out for me, Mokouko (at least 25 goals/season), Aimar. Lovely times.
But the most interesting players must bij Ljung, fascinating. Nordic, Swedish is my guess. He was an AMC en scored and and scored and scored. No problem adapting wherever he played. And, a bargain.
Ah i asked the bloke i used to play CM with. He knew exactly about Ljung. Jesper Ljung, played at Helsingborg in Sweden. Those where the times.
Haha, same guy texted; Alexanderson D/M/A L/C/R !!!!! Haha. Wow.

Mark Kerr cm 01/02 and pretty much every swede in that game.
Betinho on FM05 or 06, and James Snowcroft on CM2.
Peter Prospar from one of the very early editions. Played for Trinidad and Tobago and was a goal scoring machine.First season I had he managed to score 54 goals in 34 games
Fernando Cavenaghi and Giampaolo Pazzini
Franco Costanzo (GK) and Javier Saviola (ST) were two of the most promising young players in the game about a decade ago.
I remember leading Sweden to World Cup glory in 2006 on the backs of Kim Kallstrom, Andreas Isaksson, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Markus Rosenberg, I think that was either CM4 or CM03/04

I'm a bit of a newcomer to the series so all I have is Matias Alustiza from this time around. Exceptionally good on a free at the end of the first season. He held a starting place until Leigh Griffiths came along and started banging them in, he was free in the 3rd season I think. Both super poachers and did a very good job in the Liga BBVA
Fredy William Thompson
Orri Freyr Oskarsson
Stevie Nicholas (back in 97/98 when dribbling was the only stat you needed)
Had a regen in 93/94 called Peter Shearer with the best stats I have ever seen in a player, but never ever played up them, must have had crap hidden attributes.
Filip Sebo FM 07.
Supat Rungratsamee forgot the year
Lajos Detari, CM2
henry saivet & fabio paim - can't recall which year
wellington silva did real damage as well a couple years ago.
