Who is going to be your team in fm09?

I hope im allowed to make this thread, if not, please feel free to close it.

What i want to know is who are you going to start with in the new football manager game?

I am still unsure, torn between Man City, Chelsea, Spurs or Ipswich town.

Man City will have lots of money, and only a few changes needed to the team, with probably my team being: New gk; Richards, Kompany, Dunne, New lb; Fernandes, Elano, Johnson; SWP, Robinho; Jo. I would try to bring in a new right back in a couple of seasons, replacing Dunne with Richards. I would also want to bring through Daniel Sturrage.

Again, Chelsea will have lots of money, and with Boswinga and Deco, i think that only one definate signing will be needed, a left winger. if you are being picky, you may choose to buy a striker, a centre back and a right winger, but only backup players. the team will be: Cech; Boswinga, Terry, Carvalho, Cole; Essien, Lampard, Deco; Cole, new LM; Drogba.

Spurs also look pretty set for the season, especially with the new signings of corluka and pavluchenko, but again, i feel that a left winger will be needed. The team will be: Gomes; Corluka, King, Woodgate, Bale; Huddlestone, Jenas, Modric; Bentley, New LM; Pavluchenko.

The final team will be Ipswich, who are my local club. Ill have to see what they are like until i decide the team that i choose and who to bring in.

Liverpool, always manage them at some point in every version of the game, and have done since started playing football manager games, out of the top 4 they'll probably be the hardest to manage as they probably need to be changed the most with getting rid of some crap players to be replaced by quality for once, and with the lack of funds reported by rafa should be a challenge to keep them in the top four let alone challenge for the title

I'll probably start unemployed and whichever team wants me, I'll manage if I think it's right. For the demo I'll probably choose Bristol City.

I'll start of with Liverpool to see how things work.

I'll then probably move on to the money-laden Man City

I'll then make my way around various clubs, probably have a go at Dafuge's challenge.

Then I'll return to Liverpool for my story game.

Agreed. I guess it's the same as these people supporting them even though they live 200 miles away from the club's ground..

Feyenoord Rotterdam (Dutch Premier Division)

FC Porto as always (as it is the club I support and the club from the city I live) and then probably one of the northern portuguese minor clubs and some european biggies in their home countries.

Cheltenham Town. My local team, and they're a great challenge. Every year they're predicited for relegation and just avoid it so I'm pretty sure they'll be one of the favourites to go down in the game.

VDS - Brown, Evra, Rio, Vidic - Scholes, Carrick - Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez - Berbatov.

No signings needed.. will bring through the fantastic youth talent. Rafael, Fabio, Possebon espcially. Really cant wait until November!

i normally play with roma or valencia for this version, currently playing with arsenal for the first team.

Come FM09, definately starting with man city for a new experience but probably will play in my favourite seria A again with ac milan or roma

well i think ill start of as either mancity or newcastle as i like to get the feel of the game before plunging anywhere below league one. After im used to the game and aware of the bargain players ill take on the mighty afc wimbledon! Team full of legends, do they still have that harvey player, the rapper/model/footballer?

crewe as normal to TRY to sort out our leaky backline esp. away from the Gresty.

then i might be a foreign team like shakter donesk (sp) and finally liverpool

QPR to start with for me as I support them and, as with FM08, I will play atleast 1 season with every Premiership team. If I find a team that I do very well with then I'll stay with them for a while longer.

Will be good fun playing as Man City as well

Mine will blatently be norwich as i love that challenge, i always seem to completly change the team keeping 1 or maybe 2 origionals, and i do that on a tight budget of aroun 2mill or something so its really satisfactory when on the odd occasion you win the league or get to sell one player for more than the whole transfer budget

being season ticket holder helps me choose that too!

some english lower league team (i'm still enjoying my fm08 oxford save)

and i'm really looking forward to manage preußen münster (the club of the city where i currently live). they managed to promote to the regionalliga last season and should be playable on the new fm.

Aberdeen as i support them with a passion and probably some random team from the lower divisons quite like the idea of being Accrington and Annan Athletic

Wanderers Wanderers Wanderers. Once i've got the feel for the game. Give man city/spurs a go in the demo, carry it on into my own career game, but my main game is always with a mate, where i'm my beloved wolves. Look forward to seeing how SI rate, seb, jarvis and super kites

And for those who say higher team clubs aren't a challenge, you can make your own challenges for yourself, e.g. a team that you raised from youth.

start out at birmingham and win the treble( like i did in 06,07 though it might now be harder) then hopefully retire at man utd all in about 7-10 seasons

And then prob Bournemouth for a challenge

United in the demo, City when the game comes out proper.

Newcastle then Nottm Forest. Same regime for the last 3 FMs

Gotta be Sunderland the team I support then Crewe the team I watch every home game. After that could be one of several games Hull City, Shakhtar, ADESG, Pro Vercelli or Lille theres so many options its hard to pick yet. Guess alot of it depends on what I feel like when I load up the game.
