Season 1 - 2015/2016 _______________________________________________ VANARAMA CONFERENCE SOUTH PLAY-OFFS It has already been a great season with us finishing 3rd after having a prediction of 21st. We were on the fringe of the play-offs for most of the season and at the start of the year we looked to be slipping away but we managed to finally break in to the play-off spots and then secured a place with an emphatic display in our final league game. _______________________________________________ A terrible ending to the game, 1-1 would have been good or even 1-2 would have been ok. Conceding the 3rd in injury time gave us a tough task in the 2nd leg, we beat them 2-0 at home in the league fixture, we now need to repeat that to make the final. _______________________________________________ Well it didn't take us long to level the scores, a great first half display and we should have added more in the second half, a 4-3 aggregate win sets up a final against Boreham Wood. _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ The league games between us and Boreham Wood both ended 2-2 but unfortunately we never got going in this game. We found ourselves behind early in the second half and then we conceded a 2nd goal when our keeper decided to go awol and the 3rd came from a poor back pass from one of our defenders, so it wasn't to be and in hindsight I think it would have been too soon for a step up anyway, we need to build and will try again next season. _______________________________________________ Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

If we continue in this form we could make a serious challenge for the South title. Bryan-Edwards is one for the future though he is good enough and will be in contention for first team straight away. _______________________________________________ Results - January & February _______________________________________________ No cup distractions it's league all the way for us and it's going well. Normally I would like to get promoted asap but I was quite calm about the play-off losses and it might sound strange but in a funny way I'm enjoying spending a bit of time in this division. Having said that I did have a fair old bit of rage during that costly slump, went from a run of 12 games unbeaten to a run of 12 games without a win, just so annoying. Thanks, nice to know you are enjoying this, I have tried to get longer, lowered the wage offered, lowered or taken out clauses but still no budging them, a year is all they are willing to give. I am really getting fed up with the messages I am getting from my players. Yes we are having a bad season but it sucks, we have overachieved in previous seasons and I can understand that the players expectations are up but the bookmakers had as at 100-1 for the South title and our media prediction is about 16th. The board expectation was mid-table, I just think all these players turning on me in this way and talking so openly about it to the media so soon is a bit ridiculous. We had a good run in the FA Cup with a great win against Man City, going out to Exeter in the League Cup was one of our poorest games of the season though.
