sapoisk
So I was browsing through the forum and some threads and noticed a MODERATOR has posted a users ip address publicly in a thread without masking anything... Is this normal behaivor from SI officials/moderators to do so?? Cause thats a serious security issue for users witch ip is being exposed not taking into account its actualy also illegal as you do not cover this sort of usage of private data in your privacy policy. sapoisk
Well this is not yet an issue persay. I simply just want to know as I asked wether or not SI thinks it is ok to post users ip addresss publicly for other users to see or if the case I saw is "just" a major failure from the staff's side. It wont become an issue for me unless you actualy think its ok.
Kriss
Under the Data Protection Act an IP number is not personal information. Some MEP's tried to make it so but have so far failed in that attempt. If you think it's an issue use the button suggested and a member of SI will respond.
