Well, we are now heading into the seventh year of this challenge. It has been an incredible six years around here with some great stories, clubs, and players. Rlipscombe, Iacovone and Myself are looking forward to another great year. This challenge is similar to dafuge's, Gundo's & others, starting with a previously unplayable club and taking them all the way to a National Title and then on to the European Champions League. With a variety of leagues, styles of play, different rules, and many different locations for your clubs there can be a lot of variety throughout the thread, a great atmosphere and fun with all our users. This season promotion into the bottom level in Scotland adds some new clubs and a whole new challenge.

1) Choose your FM -

3) Your choice of Database Size (Large Recommended)

4) NO Edited Databases of any kind

5) Customising Database (Only Available in Full Fat)

100,000 in total - Change for people wanting more variety in their DB[*=1]Suggested Adds

Top Clubs/Top Divisions (Europe or All Continents) - This increases the challenge at Continental Level[*=1]Players Based in your Nation - This can add up to 50% more players to your game[*=1]Players Based in your Region (Central Europe/East Europe/UK & Ireland) - This can add extra players likely to join your club

[TD]B) Steps in the Game

1) Add an unemployed manager, you will not use this man to manage your club. I like "Unemployed Man or Holiday Man"

2) Go on holiday until the reset date of your chosen nation (Should take about an hour)

TIP -
Changing
will make it go faster. (Remember to change it back afterwards)

TIP
- Saving on the day before this date may give you a better choice of teams by reloading the game then going on holiday for one day, I would strongly recommend trying this.

TIP -
In Netherlands go on holiday til the day after the last game in 2014/15 (April 25th) you will take over the last placed team

3) Add a new manager - Use yourself, or a created character to help build a story line

5) Retire your unemployed manager.

Progress of your club should be documented using this thread, we want to hear the story of your club all the way through. Please keep us updated, even if you are doing badly. If you title your end of season report in bold this makes it easier to identify. Everyone will be supportive, and really get into your game if you give more detail, I also provide a list of some previous star players that may have become household names in this thread.[/TD]

1) If you are Sacked

(i) You can Restart from the beginning or;

(ii) Continue your game and pick a new club (Under Same Rules) at the end of the next season or;

(iii) Add another Big Euro League/Remove Current League, holiday a whole season and continue

b) Once the league becomes active you MUST holiday a full season

c) The club must be one of those unplayable from the beginning

2) No Restrictions on Parent or Feeder Clubs

3) International Management allowed from FM14 forwards (But you cannot start as an International Manager)

The use of any external utilities and editors (Such as Genie Scout or FMM) are prohibited. As in FM14 there are also unlockables, these are also prohibited, please don't use them. It would be appreciated if you also ticked the box at the start which prevents the use of the ingame editor.[/TD]

[TD]How to Post a Screenshot

1) While in FM, press the 'Prt Sc' button (usually next to F12 on your keyboard).

2) Open an image editing program such as Paint and paste the image

3) Save the file as a JPEG or PNG

4) Upload the image to an image hosting website such as Photobucket or Imageshack

5) Post the direct Url to the image here.

Alternatively using ALT + F9 in game saves a screenshot to your user data folder. (You can also edit this in the shortcuts options)

Finally I would like to wish everyone taking on this challenge the best of luck on a long and hard journey to managerial success!

The atmosphere and contribution in this thread has always been excellent, long may it continue. As core members for every year, LLR, rlipscombe, Iacovone and PRDH would like to add that we are here to help for the new challengers and hope everybody that participates contributes considerably to the thread. There is nothing better than getting immersed not only in your own game but providing the encouragement to other people's attempts too. Remember we are all fighting the same battle - to defeat the AI (and uncover fabulous newgens!) - therefore it goes without saying that any form of cheating will be severely chastised. Don't do it! We have had an incident in the past, lets not see it again - it spoils the challenge for the hard workers in here. :)

Game Goes Live

I have updated the opening post with the latest information and am looking forward to this final countdown. With 6 1/2 hrs to go at this stage I am getting a bit excited, I am working from home today and hoping to get as much done as possible before 1pm my time so I can kick on and get started with some play this afternoon. I will ensure to upload some save games before I start my own game. Will do a Holiday in each of the places and load them before I start (Probably in Portugal, and probably with Alverca). FM15 Euro Challenge's History

The Origins of this Challenge were in FM2008 when JoseRR realised there was a gap between the Gundos & Dafuges challenges, the Bigger Nations of Europe were being left out. Over the years we have picked up other nations as they have been left out, whether Turkey as it got higher in reputation, we lost Netherlands in the same adjustments. We have also added Scotland and Ireland as they lost promotion/relegation to the lower divisions. This thread has always been more about the community and joining a bunch of like-minded individuals challenging for the ultimate goal of European Club Football.

In FM12 there was a massive resurgance in this challenge as it climbed over 5000 posts for the first time since FM09, while the rest of the CSE Forum seemed to be falling this challenge went back up again, the atmosphere is seen as a major part of this, and for the first time in CSE History we overtook Dafuge's Challenge as the largest number of posts.

I had a shocker in 2013, as I never really got into the game and I struggled to enjoy it as much as I normally do. The thread seemed to suffer as the Careers Forum took over and it seems the players of the game got a bit older and had more going on in their lives. With the thread never reaching the heights of previous seasons. We still managed to see several completions through the season though as we saw some new players take them out.

The Kit Packs

Sortitoutsi is the best place to find these, and they run three styles, I have always found the Short sleeve version is the favourite, so here are the kits for our leagues, and you can add any others you like. (The individual download links may change, but check the main page) - If you prefer a different style, there are other styles, include long sleeve versions on the Sortitoutsi website. Hoping there are more Portuguese kits this year, were a bit short lately. I am going to try to compile the kits we are missing in the last week of November from my own archives (I have kits going back to 08/09 in my back-up drives), and will make this available for download somewhere (Possibly by PMing me) => Let me know if you require any kits not available in the FM14 or 15 kits and I'll link them for you.

It's good to still see this challenge going strong all these years.

I think my latest attempt here was with Dardanelspor in Turkey in FM13 I believe before I quit the game for nearly a year. This challenge alongside the usual career game is something I'm considering... :)

Shamrock Rovers B probably shouldn't be eligible because they are a B team.

And you are right, I removed the B teams in Germany, but missed that one in Ireland :D

Haven't even loaded the game since my daughter was born in July but i am starting to get those first tingles of excitement over the game. not really seen anything about the game so far so i will get on the youtube channel and watch a few videos. Hopefully i'll be able to get the game on release.

As for the questions, me opinions (for what they're worth) are:

1) Coaching Badges - Wi agree, probably the lowest available

2) International Mgmt - Agree, allow if you desire. Obviously not from the beginning but if offered a role (proof required) then i am happy for people to take the role

3) Languages/Favoured Clubs - Whatever the player wants to do for me too

4) Ireland - i don't see why we can't allow it here. it's a yes for me.

Yeah especially with being busy, it makes it tough doing it in notepad. Much easier this way and can mean discussion here as well.

Understand not opening the game with a daughter, so much going on with them. (Spent some time this year playing Lego Movie Game with her ;P)

Setting up this thread now for discussion about any rule changes, division changes etc, rather than filling up the 2014 thread, or getting it elsewhere, so discussion points for now:

1) Coaching Badges - We want to use the lowest possible?

2) International Mgmt - Following on from 2014 - Keep it as allowed? But not at start

3) Languages/Favoured Clubs - However you want to set it up?

4) Ireland - There is no relegation/Promotion at the bottom level, so Gundo has dropped it, should we include it? (I lean to yes)

I don't remember when I have last used GIMP, but you possibly have to manually add an alpaha channel to the image for it to be/remain transparent. :)

Obviously I just had to play with things, and this is "work in progress". There is now the Irish flag on the map and the Irish FA crest with the other logos (I thought that Germany had changed their logo, but apparently it was just for the shirt). Additionally there are now silhouettes of some landmarks from capital cities of the participating countries, blueish tint that looks kinda fresher than the earlier grey, smaller logos with countries' colours just bove them, different font used in text, list of countries' names and a boxy thingy to keep it all together. What do you think?

Do you work in design?

I do have a degree in industrial design.

Some subtle changes to the banner. The main one being the distribution of the background buildings - in the first version the structures were in countries' alphabetical order, but it caused the more blocky buildings to concentrate on the right side of the image, so I shuffled them around a bit. Now their order does not correspond with the country name list, but I guess it does not matter. Unless there is some obvious defect or deficiency in the image, then maybe it can be used as it is now?

Also will post this here, but will add it to the opening posts as well.

If in the end of season posts you have a player you consider your star player (Long term, or single season) post a * beside his name in Report and I'll keep track of them as well, this makes it easier for me to keep track of this for the future history sections :)

Hey guys! I'm starting this off in Italy, just like old times! Progress may be a bit slower than usual but I'll endeavour to keep you updated as and when I can. I'm taking control of Taranto - a team I'm absolutely delighted to see come under the challenge rules this year! My name on here (iacovone) comes from their stadium name after one of my all-time favourite FM files (FM06 maybe).

So, yeah, hope everyone's good. As an aside, if you're interested in youtube videos, let's plays, that kinda thing, I've started up a youtube channel (basically enjoy the editing and producing what I think is semi-decent content :D). The LINK - would appreciate any views/likes etc as I'm trying to build up a decent fanbase. Will be expanding beyond Fifa15 videos once I get more confident.

I'll try not to spam this thread going forward :D

Tough start to my career at Piacenza.

I cant sign any players as I can't adjust my wage budget. So even though I have 10k a week left I cannot sign players due to not being able to give even 1k in signing bonus.

But it's not all negative:

Giuseppe Cozzolino is topscorer in the league!

Hello everyone, good to see this thread up and running again. I have managed to be out of the country for the release date - terrible planning, so will just have a watching brief for a few days, but am looking to throw myself in properly when I'm back.

I'm tempted by Scotland this year, but I don't know. I really want to recreate the feeling of Lusitania Acores a few years ago where my youth academy was basically the national team in waiting, so I may be tempted to go to a smaller nation and jump into Gundo's for the first time.

Otherwise, Russia or Turkey hold a significant amount of interest.
