TheBlade1
I just want to double check if this is a bug. I refused an offer for a player. A week or two later the AI offered an amount above the minimum release clause. I'm really confused why you would do that??
Roy Race 9
ive seen this a few times, it shouldn't happen but it does
Sikker
I'm not sure how this min release clause works. But would the clause be met if the bid consisted of instalments? If not, then that's maybe why the AI bid over the clause...
TheBlade1
His minimum release was 31.5 mil. They paid 36.5 mil upfront plus 7.75 mil after 20 goals. Potential value of 44.25 mil...
Gandy
Was it a domestic-based release fee (like they have in Brazil), a higher-league release fee (say if you were in the Championship and the buyer in the EPL) or was it just a normal release-fee clause? Sikker
Was it a release fee that were only eligible for foreign clubs?
PLF
Perhaps the buying club doesn't know what his min fee release clause was? It isn't public information so unless they have scouted him, perhaps they wouldn't know it. You know what it is because you own the player. Just a guess. VonBlade
1) We know the release clause, even without scouting people. 2) If Fellani to UTD taught us anything, it's that some clubs pay over the known release clause.

Actually, if United taught us anything, it's waiting until the release clause has expired means you pay more.
tomtuck01
Seen this myself and think it's a bug. Had an 18yr old with a minimum fee release clause of £14.5million. Arsenal bid £8million and I kept stated I wanted £32million. We went back and forth a few times with them offering various different clause related deals and me asking for £32million each time. Eventually they said the £32million was acceptable and I then of course couldn't refuse the offer due to it "meeting" the players' release clause. SealingBurrito
A similar thing happened to me. Barcelona was making bids for one of my players and I was trying to negotiate the price to 65 million USD. Barcelona must have got tired of the negotiations and triggered his 80 million $ release clause (I forget he even had one lol). Quite bizarre, but I'm not complaining.
