Football Manager 2014 Coupon - Gift or Trade with a Friend FAQ

To celebrate Easter we’re rolling out a special Steam coupon to everyone who has purchased Football Manager 2014. The Steam coupon allows you to gift a copy of Football Manager 2014 to a friend at the discounted rate of 75% off the Steam store price. You can either trade or gift the Steam coupon directly to a friend on Steam, purchase the game as a gift and trade it with a friend, or purchase the game as a gift using the coupon and then send it onto your friend. The coupon can be redeemed up until Monday 12th May 2014.

How to add a Friend on Steam

1. To add a friend on Steam, first make sure you are signed into your Steam account

2. On the top menu-bar, left-click on ‘Friends’

3. Select ‘Add a Friend’

4. A search bar will come up, so enter the player name, account name, real name or profile URL of the person you’re looking for

5. Once you’ve found the user you wish to add as a friend, click the ‘Add as Friend’ button found on the right

6. Once the friend request is accepted, you will now be able to gift and trade on Steam.

How to Gift the Coupon to a Friend

1. In order to initiate a trade you need to be logged into Steam and connected to Steam Friends. You’ll also need to have added your friend to your Steam Friends and they’ll also need to be logged in to Steam and connected to Steam Friends.

2. Open your Friends list, which you can find in the bottom right corner of the Steam window.

3. Sign in if prompted.

4. Click on the small arrow next to the friend you wish to invite to Trade and click on Invite to Trade.

Alternatively, if you are already chatting with your friend you can start a trade from the chat window by clicking on the large arrow and clicking Invite to Trade.

5. Your friend will then receive a message asking him/her to accept the invitation to trade.

6. Once they’ve accepted the invite, the trade window will open.

7. Click on the small arrow next to ‘Steam’ to bring up a dropdown menu, then click on ‘Coupons’ where you’ll be able to find the Football Manager 2014 coupon.

8. Drag your coupon onto the ‘Your Offerings’ section of the trade window. You can verify the contents of the trade are correct by hovering your mouse over each item and reading the item details.

9. Click on Ready to Trade.

10. This will launch a dialog box asking you to confirm this trade is a gift. Click, “Yes, this is a gift.”

11. The trade will finish processing and your friend will be able to use the coupon to purchase Football Manager 2014 at 75% off.

How to Purchase the game using the coupon and Gift to a Friend

1. Search for Football Manager 2014 on the Steam Store.

2. On the product page, click on ‘Add to Cart’

3. You’ll then be taken to your Cart where the coupon will be applied to your purchase and you’ll be able to purchase the game as a gift for a friend.

4. You then have the option to send the gift via email or directly to their Steam account. If your friend doesn’t have a Steam account, you can email them the game and they’ll be given details of how to get up and running on Steam.

If your friend has Steam and you want to send it directly to their Steam account simply click the option to send the gift directly through Steam and select a friend from your Steam Friends.

5. You can also store the gift in your inventory if you wish to trade with a friend later.

6. After selecting a method to send the gift, you’ll then be able to add a gift note on the next screen.

7. You will then be asked to enter your payment details and confirm the purchase of the gift.

8. Football Manager 2014 will then be sent to your friend.

How to Trade the Coupon with a Friend

10. Once your friend is ready, click on Make Trade – but a word of warning, once you click this button the trade cannot be undone!

11. The trade will finish processing and your friend will be able to use the coupon to purchase Football Manager 2014 at 75% off.
