FM14: Grzegorz Krychowiak

People first heard about Krychowiak when he scored a

against Brazil in FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada in 2007. At this time he was already at Girondins Bordeaux, picked from Polish side Arka Gdynia. He only made two league appearances for Bordeaux, spending two seasons on loan at Reims (54 games, 4 goals) and one at Nantes (21, 0). In 2012 he signed a permanent three-year deal with the former, instantly becoming one of the most important players for the newly-promoted Ligue 1 side. Krychowiak didn't feature for Poland during Euro 2012, but after sacking Franciszek Smuda, their new coach, Waldemar Fornalik first played him in a WC qualifier against Moldova (11.09.2012). After this game Krychowiak became an important part of his national team. Despite playing in a defensive role, he managed to score against the likes of PSG and Lyon.

As you can see, he's already a strong and intelligent player and, considering his age and mental attributes, he still has room for improvement. I'd strongly recommend Krychowiak to anyone who's looking for a good Premiership-level defensive midfielder. After some development he could even feature as a rotation player for a top European side.

He definitely looks like he could play for a bigger club than Reims - It's a shame his tackling isn't slighly better as he has right mental & physical qualities to be a very solid defensive midfielder
