Defensive stats for playing offside

What stats do you look for in your defenders for playing successful offside in the game

Pace, positioning, anticipation and teamwork are the main attributes I'd want in a defender to be able to effectively use the off side trap.

I realised my mistake almost as soon as I posted tbh, obviously getting off the mark fast would indeed be a lot more important to being successful in implementing the off side trap than how long you can maintain your top speed for.:o

but what if an attacker breaks through your trap. might be useful to have a defender who can chase them.

Yes but the thread isn't about what attributes a defender would need if you tried to use the off side trap and it doesn't work.

Concentration is also an important attribute to playing offside.

Not a lot of defenders are known for pace in the lower leagues where I tend to play, so I never bother with it. Always play a deep line too. I fear being caught out.

This sort of information should be stickied as far as I am concerned.
