Inspired by my friend and his creative way of saying names :D I thought I'd create a thread in which tells other how to pronounce some of the more, cultured names in FM.

I'll start with...

Nabil Khcharem

and one that my friend had trouble with was.... wait for it.... Bogdan Stancu!

Hmmm I'd say "nab-eel keh-char-em" and (obviously) "Bog-dan Stan-Choo".

Listening to Motty in the Euro's though I'm sure there's hundreds of pronunciations! "Villa.....Viyya.....Villya"??

If anyone knows how to pronounce Balazs Dzsudzsak without getting a headache I'd appreciate it....

Balazs Dzsudzsak

I don't actually know but after from hearing it (before they found their pronunciation) I pronounced it as:

Ba-laz Dzud-zshak

I can't explain the latter part of the name with letters but I pronounce it like "shack" but more z like. Kinda like a Spanish J on Jack sound. Lol.

dnt really have 1 for anyone else...

barl-arsh ds (as in woods)-soods (woods)-sark

Just a reason that I love my book of 301 Polish verbs.

Wow, completely different from what I've been shouting for 3 seasons then! I was pronouncing it "Ball-az Dzu-d-zak" no wonder my head hurts

A regen in my game called Bas Stroek, Dutch

Don't know if it's 'Stro-ek', 'Stroke' or whatever.

Another Regen, Iker Bengoetxea, Spanish. I'm clueless on that one!

Luis Galeano, Paraguay

Mosaied Awaji, Isreal

Victor Oulai, Ivory Coast, and finally

Fernando Rea (not sure if it's 'ree-a', 'ray-ah' or just 'ray'.)

Bas Stroek - Id go for Stro-ek

I'm not even going to attempt the Spanish one!

Mosaied Awaji - Mo-Sigh-ed A-Wa-Gee

Victor Oulai - ???

Fernando Rea - I'd go for Ray-Ah

Llangefni Town is who i'm managing at the moment, but i'm not sure how it's pronounced. I think it's:

Lang-ih-fen-nee

But i'm not too sure :S

I'm sure it's closer to "Clan Gef Knee" but I've a feeling the Welshmen around here will correct me :D

Never been there myself. However I am an English speaking Welshman. So I would presume its...

"Llangefni" = Llan - Geff - Nie

The LL is pronounced like a held, spitting sort of sound. That would cut off, I have family in Llanelli, so I am familiar with the pronunciation of the LL sound. So I would assume that's how one would pronounce that town.

Though from my Welsh lessons I'm sure that a singular 'f' sounds like an 'English' 'V' sound. Hmmm. To be honest your not far off to be honest.

Aye, it would be LLan-Gev-Nie, with the LL prounced in that special way only welsh people can,

The missus is Welsh :p she told me how to say it lol

I am currently stumped on two of my regens:

Tomotsuna Yazawa from japan (Tom-ott-soona Yaz-zawa is my attempt)

and

Fikru Tefera from ethiopia (Thick-roo Te-Fearer is the guess on that one)

If any one knows better it would help, as both get a fair few goals each season)

Someone should tell Pleat that it's Jose "Bosingwa" not "Boss-swinger".

Also Teddy Sheringham likes to be called...Teddy Sheringham.

NOT :-

Terry Sheddingham

Teddy Sheridan

:)

And yes, as someone earlier mentioned - Yossi Benayoun, not "Benna-noon". That always rattles my cage when watching ITV Champions League!

PS. What does David Pleat actually want? Go away. I'd rather listen to wideboy Ian Wright.

The Lambs, your Japanese regen is called To-mo-tsu-na Ya-za-wa :-)

Cheers, He has performed much better since I started shouting his name correctly and he has green arrows on all his important stats now :-)

Irronically, I am really tempted to look at his PA, I think he is going to be a monster of a player, he is only 21 and he has better stats than most premier players.

This may seem simple, but Martyn Margarson — as simple as it looks? Mar-gar-son? Or is it some Polish or Eastern European root? Rushden, if anyone is wondering.
