Free Transfers outside Transfer Window

Just tried to sign a free agent GK after my first choice was injured long term. He agreed and then I got a message saying it would go through in the next window. As he was a free agent I should have been able to sign him straight awat. It was 2 weeks after the transfer window closed. I am playing in the SPL.

Also in Scottish lower leagues you can't loan players out with the transfer window but you can I real life

It appears as though in the game the only Transfer Windows that Scotland has the Summer and January transfer windows, and no other windows for free transfers/loan deals. Under the rules in the Scottish First Division and below, it lists that there are meant to be no loans between teams in the same division. I'm not sure if this is the case in reality, or if the rules in-game are perhaps in need of updating.

As (I'm assuming) a Hearts fan you'll likely know more about rules in the SPL and SFL than I would. But if you have evidence of recent transfer activity that contradicts the rules in-game, then we may be able to take a look and see what we can do.

Not in the first update - this will be primarily for tech fixes and similar, most gameplay related tweaks/fixes will be in later updates. We do currently have the issue pencilled in to be fixed for one of the following updates but I can't give you a firm timescale on it as obviously there's always the potential for unexpected circumstances to affect things.

None of the loan rules work when playing in Scotland either, Dundee have 7 players on loan in my game just now all over 21 and 5 from the same team!

My Team! Hearts. They where the only team that bid for my loan listed players. The rules say no more than 1 player over 21 and no more than four domestic loan players at the same time.

Hi, this happen to me as well, I play with shelbourne, ireland.

The 3rd transfer on FMh is closed and teams from portugal "SLB" and england "QPR" bought two of my key players.

And I can't buy any of the free players?

Any thoughts, should I stop playing until this is fix?

Yes, I think happen between Aug to Sep, I don't know exactly when, there is no option on how to check this on the game.

Ok- this isn't a bug then.

As I understand it, the Irish transfer windows are closed in August, but in England and Portugal they stay open until the end of August.
This means that SLB and QPR are able to sign your players during August, but you aren't able to bring in any replacements.

I believe in Ireland that you can only sign free players during the transfer window, which is why you can't sign them now either.
(If I'm wrong on this, I'm happy to be corrected and we can investigate more closely)

However there is no option to change on the game the club expectations from a player, I mean, I lost 2 key player because was too much to said no.

There is a way to change that. Or also to have an option what are the clubs expectations when we buy a player, I mean the undeniable bid.
Because the game do those undeniable bid all the time, and I feel useless to do the same.


For example:

Player cost 10K
club bid:90K
my Bid : 100K
undeniable bid: 300K

The AI of the game always do those undeniable bid.

And if I try to buy a player at all cost.

The player answer is I'm happy to stay at the current club, even if the bid was accepted with the club and the salary, sign fee, and sell % is higher.

Any ideas?

Hi - can you explain exactly what you're referring to by 'undeniable bid'? If you're playing in Ireland, it's probably quite common that players will not be very keen to come to your club above a club in a more prominent footballing nation, even if offered more money.

This is what happen all the time and as you might see the transfer was made on 1st Sep
Which I thought was until the end of Aug.

The only solution I have to block this process temporally and I'm mercy to what ever the player decide is to offer a new contract, however in this instace I offer a 2 years of contract with I high salary and the player sign just 1 year, After this year is finish the player will move to Arsenal.

Any ideas?

Hi - the reason for this is that you have given your players Big Club Release Clauses - it is an option on the Contract Offer screen and means that if a significantly bigger club makes a bid for that player well in excess of their value, it will be accepted automatically. Since you are playing in Ireland, all the clubs there are pretty small on a global scale so most foreign clubs will trigger the clause.

For the above screenshot, the last day of August falls on a saturday, so that transfer deadline day instead occurs on the first day of the working week (Monday 2nd Sep).

For example, the 2009 winter transfer deadline occurred on February 2nd (see here).
